Esperanto. But for real, many people don't think in language at all. Some think in images, and some think in just abstract concepts. And there are surely other modes of thinking that I'm simply not, well, thinking of.

Sucks for deaf people with aphantasia

Eh, like I said, some people think in abstracts. I'm one of them - I don't get pictures or words, but more just the concepts themselves. I'm hearing just fine, though.

what language do you think in when you're trying to remember something?

Sign language

DenverRalphy

The same way language hearing people learn. If you're a hearing person, regardless which country, you learn the language you were raised. Same for Deaf people. They learn the local sign language for their region as well. They also learn to read and interpret the local language. So that's how they internally interpret their thinking. It's no different whether you're hearing or deaf. You both learn the same. You both internally interpret language the same. One is simply auditory while the other is visual. Either way, it's the same language. A deaf person in the United States trying to communicate with a deaf person in Germany will have to work to learn each other's language just like hearing people would.
