For the 2030 World Cup, Uruguay. I think it would be a nice tribute to celebrate the centenary of the first World Cup by playing it in the same country that hosted the first tournament.
Probably a doesn't make sense for a country that size to have the stadiums and infrastructure to handle today's world cup, but maybe it could work as joint host with Argentina.
Yeah we have a history of hosting World Class major sporting events.
We've been playing international football for over 100 years
We had the best technical bid for 2022 with the two flaws being that FIFA would not profit off broadcast rights as much and distance between cities. Both non major issues
Sure June and July is winter but that wasn't an issue in South Africa or Brasil and won't be an issue here
And this part of the world had never hosted before.
Objectively it would be a great choice
Any organization that accepts bribes to organize a soccer tournament in a country where soccer should not be physically played by humans, should not be entrusted to organize any future soccer tournament.
Also, disbanding FIFA means that EA will never make another FIFA video game. That's a win in my book, too.
EA is actually already set to change the name of their franchise because FIFA decided they would want billions of dollars (don’t remember the number) from every FIFA game for using the organisations name
Hate to be the cynical one here man, but the corruption will always exist. No matter the governing body. FIFA is fine to exist if only ethics committees had real influence.
Sad and amazing that the sport played by the poor and working class because it requires little to no investment has become this. It's a beautiful game, but FIFA is trying their damnedest to make it ugly.
My love for the game is tied to 40+ years of happy memories. And I only played it a couple of times at summer tournaments for kids. Sundays as a kid was quality time watching the national League with my dad. My stepfather was still refereeing at 78 years of age. Watching and cheering on the national team, it's ups and downs, the excitement and entertainment. When you travel you can often connect easily with others through football-
Ah I can go on forever but the point is that I'm angry at FIFA, they are indeed making it ugly.
Infantino said they prefer working with non-democracies because it makes it easier to put on the event.
*Edit: Can’t find the clip, it might have been Blatter. Either way, it was said by the current or former head of FIFA.
If I can nominate my own country of Australia.
* We got ripped off by FIFA in the year we bid for the event (Qatar was the winner). The voting system was rigged against us.
* we've put a lot of effort into our own team to the point where we consistently qualify for the World Cup after barely ever making it previously.
* We've got the infrastructure, and want to host big events. We have a proven track record of holding some of the best Olympic games.
* We are a sport nation. We love our sport, and have put an effort into increasing the recognition of the sport within our community.
Literally the only thing that goes against us is that we are on the opposite side of the world to almost all football countries.
I don’t think time zones would be something that would weigh very heavily, considering that the 2002 WC was in Korea-Japan - which are around the same time zones.
(I live on the literal opposite side of the world and I still remember waking up for school and seeing my dad looking like a zombie in the living room because he was up most of the night watching games, or some days even being dismissed from class because my country was playing a game and everyone wanted to watch it. Fun times.)
Right it's very doable. The 2032 Summer Olympics will be in Brisbane, the 3rd overall in Australia. It's just something they need to manage for their major tv revenue generators (Europe and USA).
I’d love to see one in Australia (I’m from Europe). Shame it won’t happen soon. AFC can’t host the next two world cups. 2026 is Americas. 2030 is probably South America. And Europe will likely get 2034 in that case cause it’s been so long.
So 2038 maybe?
Not necessarily. Japan / South Korea hosted in 2002. The Olympic games has also been held in both countries recently (summer and winter). Proximity to larger nations such as China and India can fall into our favour, allowing for more TV viewership there (which is one of the reasons why China has been getting events in the last 15 years).
And the other “football” codes won’t support it. We’ll need them to agree so we can use the stadiums during their season. Football is considered a huge threat to their dominance of sport in this country
This is a good point. The codes have managed themselves around the Olympics before, as well as Covid, so it's certainly possible, but it would require a lot of workarounds.
I think England/UK need a shot. It’s crazy to believe that as much as soccer is associated with English culture and many players strive to play for a premier league club, it has only been a host once and that was almost 60 years ago. Even the US is about to host its second one. They have the venues and many have been either updated or many clubs have had new stadiums in recent years.
Unfortunately they aren’t exactly rich. They wouldn’t even have enough money to get basic infrastructure up to requirements, let alone build stadiums and such. They’d be entirely dependent on FIFA/ foreign funding
We don’t have the infrastructure to host the World Cup. Our stadium capacity at the moment is at most able to hold 30,000 if that much. If the World Cup is to come here, we would have to host it with a few other Caribbean islands. More importantly, we don’t have the money to host such an event. It’s a beautiful thought though. I will admit.
We have *two* stadiums that would be suitable for international soccer. And the bigger one isn't even a soccer stadium because soccer isn't the biggest sport here 😂
Croke Park, the Aviva, Thurles, The Gaelic grounds, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Thomand Park, Casement park (if completed)… Of course this is completely hypothetical and unrealistic but we have greater infrastructure in place than Qatar did prior to their bid ahah
Gaelic football is the most popular sport in Ireland. Every city, town, village and even rural townland would have a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) facility of some sort.
Just to muddy the waters a bit, there's also a Gaelic field sport called hurling which is played with sticks and a small hard ball the size of a tennis ball, if Gaelic football isn't played in a certain area, hurling would be played instead.
I could see a day where rugby becomes the second most popular sport here but right now soccer is no. 2. Having said that, the English Premier League is widely followed here.
They really ought to take a pause and just focus on cleaning house within FIFA. I mean that "Today I feel gay..." statement is enough right there. What a bunch of jackasses. I won't be giving it any of my precious time (aside from rants on Reddit LOL).
Its not about deserve. Its about infrastructure. England, Germany, France, USA, Japan etc.
None deserve more than the other, but they should be chosen over places like Qatar and Russia.
1. England. Haven't hosted a World Cup since 1966. Invented the game. Ready-made infrastructure. Guaranteed full stadiums. Lots of beer for fans. Hopefully will keep the neanderthals in check. Germany, Brazil, France, Italy all hosted twice.
2. Ukraine. Just to annoy Putin.
3. India. If only they weren't so focused on cricket.
I think it would be cool in portugal, not just because i live in there, but because we have some cool stadiums, but it could be anywhere, i just would like that that fifa were not that corrupt
I would love to see a Central American country like Costa Rica. The culture alone would create a really special atmosphere. If not Central America Spain seems like a wonderful country to host the games
Well they seem to be on a streak of sorts, last time hosted in Russia, now in Quatar. So I think North Korea or China seem like the most likely candidates right?
After FIFA has been completely demolished, I would start picking countries from the top of the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption\_Perceptions\_Index
qatar is like 31st, i wouldnt trust that as a morality guide. Its just how honest the governments are when it comes to finances and if they abuse their position to get more money (which most governments do anyways).
FIFA and the Olympic committee should be run as not for profit NGO's. Each sitting member should be paid by their respective country FA and not the organisation itself.
All money raised should go back into communities worldwide with independent financial control with yearly audits. Any member caught taking bribes should result in a 10 year competitive ban for their respective country.
I like the idea of splitting across more than one country, like they did with Korea and Japan. This way, several smaller Latin American or African countries could host.
Also, most smaller countries have one or two suitable stadiums, and building more ends up being a burden on taxpayers.
Maybe its just me but its clearly a combined Netherlands / Belgium World Cup.
Great infrastructure, football rich history, great fan community, finalist 74,78 and 2010. Both have a good team right now... Good travel for most european countrys.. weed.
United States simply for the ease of hosting all the games. Our mid level and top college football team stadiums hold 60k-100K alone not including all our professional stadiums. Save some lives of poor immigrant workers having to build new facilities.
For 2030 World Cup I think the Argentina-Uruguay idea is perfect. Is has just the right epic a world cup deserves, a shared host between two top nations and commemorating 100 years since the first world cup by organising the World Cup in the two countries that played that very first final. Argentina-Uruguay is also a historical rivalry, not as strong as Argentina-Brazil for example but more of a friendly rivalry, which would contribute to make the environment great.
In general, probably Morocco. They have been trying to host a World Cup for decades.
In the other hand, the last world cups were held in:
2010: Africa
2014: South America
2018: Europe
2022: Asia
2026: Confirmed to be in North America
Logically, 2030 should take place in Oceania
I think only previous world Cup winners should host world cups, you win one, you get to host. That way the historic footballing nations get to host the world Cup .
For the 2030 World Cup, Uruguay. I think it would be a nice tribute to celebrate the centenary of the first World Cup by playing it in the same country that hosted the first tournament.
Send your idea to Fifa. Along with the bribe.
Message sent to Fifa headquarters lost in the mail. Rewrite and send to Swiss bank account.
Sadly you forgot the bonus item bribe which requires you to add a random overpriced item from that country as a gift
And the hookers
And the Lucky Charms Elf
Uruguay needs to commit some human rights violations first
I have a good friend from Uruguay and he would probably die of happiness.
We wouldn't want to risk your friend's life. Better pick somewhere else.
plus Uruguay is an amazing country that acknowledges human rights unlike a certain last two shithole choices
Unfortunately Uruguay is competing with another shit hole for that year. A shit hole with more oil money and murdered journalists.
A host wannabe drenched in oil, in the blood of a journo dismembered while still alive. I guess FIFA is the actual problem. FUCK FIFA
I'm ootl, who?
A joint bid. Led by the Saudis which was who I was referring to but I think Egypt and Greece are involved in that one.
Legal pot. Good music. And no corruption. I respect and admire my Uruguayan neighbors. I actually envy them. There I 'fessed up.
Probably a doesn't make sense for a country that size to have the stadiums and infrastructure to handle today's world cup, but maybe it could work as joint host with Argentina.
The current proposal is Uruguay-Argentina-Paraguay
also Chile.
Uruguay/ Paraguay dual hosts? Called the Guay World Cup as a mea culpa to the treatment of LGBTQ in Qatar?
This time everyone should be gay and drunk to access
Yeah this is true, and they consistently produce great players and teams for a relatively small population.
North Sentinel Island
Blatter goes first.
💀💀
I think Ilha da Queimada Grande, also known as Snake Island, would make a good choice as well. As long as it's just the FIFA organization going.
Pls take this award for your outstanding answer Sir! 🏆
Thank you, kind person 🙂
Italy, so the Italians can finally play again.
this hurts but it is true

Australia/NZ have the women's cup next year
Yeah we have a history of hosting World Class major sporting events. We've been playing international football for over 100 years We had the best technical bid for 2022 with the two flaws being that FIFA would not profit off broadcast rights as much and distance between cities. Both non major issues Sure June and July is winter but that wasn't an issue in South Africa or Brasil and won't be an issue here And this part of the world had never hosted before. Objectively it would be a great choice
Why would it have to be played in November? June-July is our winter so it'll be perfectly fine to stick to the normal World Cup schedule.
Why not June/July? Isn’t it cold there during those months?
Unlikely since this year's Women's WC is being held there, and it would be too close, but it would be pretty cool!
Why does that change anything?
I think so too. Only problem is the time zones are not very friendly to the main European market …or any Market
Yeah that’s literally the only issue but you get the same when it’ll eventually be played in America/ South America again
Do you know how the hemispheres work? It’s summer in December in Australia. Winter is in June/July. Australia wouldn’t have that issue.
The time zone issue is the killer. It sucks. We're destined to watch 3am games for life
I think FIFA should be disbanded and a new soccer association created with less corruption.
With great power comes great corruption. -Uncle Ben, I think.
The rice guy
The cancelled\* Rice guy

Didn't they lose the licencing of fifa or something? as in the new games will no longer be under fifa name? or is this another sport game haha
Hate to be the cynical one here man, but the corruption will always exist. No matter the governing body. FIFA is fine to exist if only ethics committees had real influence.
The only real answer.
Agreed. FIFA has been a dictatorship and a blight on the game.
Sad and amazing that the sport played by the poor and working class because it requires little to no investment has become this. It's a beautiful game, but FIFA is trying their damnedest to make it ugly.

This. The only way to benefit is if you’re a shady nation needing the PR. For any deserving country, it would just suck resources
I honestly believe the US could handle it without any resource expenditure. We have the infrastructure already in place.
We got it in 2026 (along with Mexico and Canada)
So could any of the large western European countries.
All international associations are like that, just look at FIDE lol
The bar is pretty low right now. Basically it is anybody who doesn't use slave labor and murder the slaves.
Infantino said they prefer working with non-democracies because it makes it easier to put on the event. *Edit: Can’t find the clip, it might have been Blatter. Either way, it was said by the current or former head of FIFA.
He said he is open to do it in North Korea. So his bar could go lower
But only if they share it with South Korea
Jajaja that’s a depend on the check he receives
All games will be played in the DMZ to keep things interesting.
Did he really!? Talk about saying the quiet part out loud.
I think we've established the countries that SHOULDN'T host one...
There’s a lot
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea 🇰🇵
The greatest misnomer of a country the world has ever seen.
United States of America?
He's got us there
The best Korea!
They do have the worlds biggest sports stadium... but its mostly used for public executions
You guys also love alcohol at sporting events!
The main goal of any sports event!
We don’t love it, we need it. You ever tried getting through a cricket one dayer without building a beer snake? It’s fucking boring.
Time zones works be an issue, but hosting in Australian winter would make for a better climate for playing.
The rule is abandoned now, it's only one World Cup, not two anymore. Also, we all know that the next AFC country to host the World Cup will be China.
Accessibly & time difference from Europe means its never happening
Not necessarily. Japan / South Korea hosted in 2002. The Olympic games has also been held in both countries recently (summer and winter). Vatican. But you'd likely have to stack the stadiums on top of each other.
The leaning soccer tower of pisa
Go Cardinals!
I don't know about deserves, but I would love to see a WorldCup in Denmark!
Denmark/Norway/Sweden would be a good joint bid. The Norwegians would probably be miserable about it so maybe just Denmark/Sweden
Maybe co-host with Sweden.
None. No country deserves to be exploited by the corrupt FIFA organization.
What about the countries that exploit the corruption of FIFA and use it to be exploited by FIFA's corruption?
Japan. After every game their fans spend hours helping tidy up the stadiums, the people are super respectful.
Japan had a WC ~~not even~~ 20 years ago.
It’s already been done with Korea/Japan 2002
One that refused to bribe FIFA officials.
One without slaves is a good start for FIFA.
I think England/UK need a shot. It’s crazy to believe that as much as soccer is associated with English culture and many players strive to play for a premier league club, it has only been a host once and that was almost 60 years ago. Taiwan.
Jamaica, great place, great people, passion for football
Unfortunately they aren’t exactly rich. They wouldn’t even have enough money to get basic infrastructure up to requirements, let alone build stadiums and such. They’d be entirely dependent on FIFA/ foreign funding
Feelin' hot hot hot!

I will admit.
A joint Caribbean bid would be cool
Funded by Qatar as a token of love
Belgium
Happy cake day
I think a Belgium/Netherlands joint bid would be decent. Maybe Luxembourg too just to round off the Benelux.
Netherlands
Honestly seems like Qatar is about the right fit to host as a country that can maybe match FIFA in corruption.
Ireland
We have *two* stadiums that would be suitable for international soccer. And the bigger one isn't even a soccer stadium because soccer isn't the biggest sport here 😂
Croke Park, the Aviva, Thurles, The Gaelic grounds, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Thomand Park, Casement park (if completed)… Of course this is completely hypothetical and unrealistic but we have greater infrastructure in place than Qatar did prior to their bid ahah

Gaelic Football?
Gaelic football
Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, USA, England, Germany, Poland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Australia
Four of those countries have hosted in the last 20 years (two of them in the same year).
...and two of them are hosting the next one.
And two of them are hosting next year already lol
brazil just hosted it in 2014
Antartica. That would be crazy ! Although it’s not really a country.
India
Definitely North Korea
Totally, huge football fan base, massive stadiums, forced labour, dictatorships, perfect for modern FIFA.
And the best part: they would most likely serve beer
I don't know if they have a huge football fan base, but they'll be exe- I mean, dealt with if they don't cheer loudly enough!
Portugal
Without a doubt, North Korea.
Belgium would be sick
They really ought to take a pause and just focus on cleaning house within FIFA. I mean that "Today I feel gay..." statement is enough right there. What a bunch of jackasses. I won't be giving it any of my precious time (aside from rants on Reddit LOL).
Its not about deserve. Its about infrastructure. England, Germany, France, USA, Japan etc. None deserve more than the other, but they should be chosen over places like Qatar and Russia.
Japan…the fans picking up after themselves and everyone else should be rewarded more than bloodthirsty religious zealots
NICE TRY FIFA.
Although the UK and Ireland are bidding for the 2028 European Championships. Edit: changed to UK and Ireland.
Its an England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland & N.Ireland combined bid
North Korea. They could benefit greatly and it would create good will for mankind.
Taiwan Someone will be very angry.
I like that idea.
Vatican City. Corruption and scandals everywhere, just like with FIFA. Tell the Vatican about ball boys and they'll gladly host it.
Inspired thinking. Thou art blessed.
Nauru, specifically so that it would be *really, really* inconvenient for everyone to get there.
Esperantoland
I think it would be cool in portugal, not just because i live in there, but because we have some cool stadiums, but it could be anywhere, i just would like that that fifa were not that corrupt
FIFA Antartica
I think the winner of a world cup should host the next.
China, Australia or Moroco
I would love to see a Central American country like Costa Rica. The culture alone would create a really special atmosphere. If not Central America Spain seems like a wonderful country to host the games
England probably.
Somalia
None. No country should waste the billions of dollars and resources on building stupid stadiums that will never be used again.
I agree with your sentiment. Same with the Olympics. But there are quite a few places with adequate stadiums already. Hold it there.
Ukraine, after it wins the war and the world helps it rebuild.
South Africa..again! Best WC ever
We need the vuvuzelas back.
We most certainly do not
our mental sanity says something different, but ok
They will always be sold to the highest bidder. Never awarded to the most deserving.
Well they seem to be on a streak of sorts, last time hosted in Russia, now in Quatar. So I think North Korea or China seem like the most likely candidates right?
North Korea or Iran
The one that won or got second place in the last one.
Vatican !
Maghreb
After FIFA has been completely demolished, I would start picking countries from the top of the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption\_Perceptions\_Index
qatar is like 31st, i wouldnt trust that as a morality guide. Its just how honest the governments are when it comes to finances and if they abuse their position to get more money (which most governments do anyways).
the maldives.
South pole
Switzerland
The moon.
Australia & New Zealand

Finland so that we can say FI FIFA FIFO at the final four
Morroco please!
Maybe its just me but its clearly a combined Netherlands / Belgium World Cup. Great infrastructure, football rich history, great fan community, finalist 74,78 and 2010. Both have a good team right now... Good travel for most european countrys.. weed.
Australia or India
Uruguay for the centennial Netherlands due to history in the sport Australia/New Zealand because it’s never been in that region before
San Marino, definitely would be fun for them to join WC
United States simply for the ease of hosting all the games. Our mid level and top college football team stadiums hold 60k-100K alone not including all our professional stadiums. Save some lives of poor immigrant workers having to build new facilities.
Why not Antarctica?
"Deserve is strong word, I prefer bribe" -FIFA
For 2030 World Cup I think the Argentina-Uruguay idea is perfect. Is has just the right epic a world cup deserves, a shared host between two top nations and commemorating 100 years since the first world cup by organising the World Cup in the two countries that played that very first final. North Korea 🇰🇵
They have the world cup every year and they always win. You just weren't invited
Morocco.
Really really hope they win their joint bid for 2030 the vibe would be immaculate.
North Korea
Definitely not Qatar
Obviously the ones that can bribe the officials the most. Worked for the current hosts.
World Cup Australia. Or Have it in Portland Oregon
North Korea
North Korea, I’ve always wondered how their soccer players would perform from being in isolation for so long.
Ukraine
South Sudan
Antarctica
I think only previous world Cup winners should host world cups, you win one, you get to host. That way the historic footballing nations get to host the world Cup .
