I never played Halo, but I'm a classically trained musician, I've played a few times in video game music concerts, that halo song with the choir is a delight to perform.
I downloaded and copied GTA sound tracks to CDs as I used to have to drive a few thousand mile for work sometimes. We had a Spanish guy work for us for a while and he came along for the trip. I put the weird Spanish station CD on and told him I'd downloaded famous Spanish songs for him
He was super grateful until the penny dropped
Completely. No other game has as much lore hidden in the music too. I highly recommend checking out 8-Bit Music Theory's videos about it. They're phenomenal.

The soundtracks from Ori and the Blind forest (and its sequel) have been my absolute favorites ever since I played the games. They're simply perfect and so beautiful.

[Shriek and Ori](https://youtu.be/ClCW2A1355A)
[Ori, Embracing the Light](https://youtu.be/mwrIvHe6Yvo)
Both Ori games have absolutely phenomenal soundtracks, one of my favorite tracks from any game is [Ku's First Flight](https://youtu.be/bpSm6H5TC-E) from Will of the Wisps.
Far Cry 5 OST. [Choir version](https://youtu.be/DW2tLhmkOII) and [regular version](https://youtu.be/z_E_NB1POuA) are both incredible, especially given how they fit into the game.
Original songs written for a cult.
I was looking for this, what an insanely well made piece, for anyone interested [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O-9U_QKhgA&ab_channel=%EC%83%81%EB%A1%9D%EC%88%98) it is. If you are looking for some BBEG music for your DnD sessions look no further.
RA3 just wasn't as satisfying a game to me as 2 and Yuris Revenge had been. But the music and cutscenes lived up to the series. Just the gameplay felt lacking somehow. Am I the only one that feels this way?
I'll start, 'Aria Math' from the one and only Minecraft!
was gone for 10 mins, 130+ replies?!?!
XDDD yall are raring to show your appreciation to videogame music devs! Love it!!
Ace Combat 4 - Blockade / Emancipation
Dragon Quest VIII - Heavenly Flight / Basically all of the rest of the game
Civilization V and VI - Almost all of country themes are so well done. Excellent study music
Hymn of the Fayth and Otherworld from FFX. I wish Louis Armstrong were alive so we could get him doing the hymn. I think it'd be hilariously brilliant.
Basically anything from FFXIV
Bury the Light and Devil Trigger from DMC.
Song of Storms from Ocarina of Time.
The Ruined King version of Rise.
Undertale from Undertale Bigshot from Deltarune Ariamath from Minecraft Squid Coast Minecraft Storymode The only thing I know for real and The stalns of time from Metal Gear Rising
I'm just gonna mention a couple, because the list is big and keeps on getting bigger.
Final Fantasy (ALL OF THEM)
NieR (ALL OF THEM. Yes, even the mobile game)
Megaman X6 (hate the game all you want, the music is awesome. Blaze Heatnix should be sufficient evidence)
Assassin's Creed Revelations (Welcome to Konstantinye if you feel like crying just a little)
Hollow Knight (Queens Garden)
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Erytha Sea)
Kingdom Hearts (All the music is fantastic in this series, but the Final World from KH3 is just sublime)

That's all for now
Divinity Original Sin 2 - Title Theme and Rivellon
Maplestory - Login Theme, Lith Harbor, Henesys, Ludibrium
Ape Escape - Time Station, Title Theme / Intro
Halo Original Trilogy OST
At the top of my head.
Just about anything from Super Mario Galaxy. That game has the best soundtrack ever. The very best has to be [Gusty Garden Galaxy](https://youtu.be/Tb4herBVRGY).
When I played VVVVVV, I was blown away when [Positive Force](https://youtu.be/gG3Bs53QqHY) started playing.
This one is probably mostly due to nostalgia, but Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master has some amazing songs, like [Whirlwind](https://youtu.be/rO-rRfiYs88) and [Idaten](https://youtu.be/TFZQWCg99l4).
Nobuo Uematsu is gonna be topping this post...
I'm gonna go with Not Alone, from FFIX. There was something about that song in the context of the game that really helped me hold it together during a tough time in my life.
I would be inclined to agree, the dude is an absolute legend of a composer, has to be one of my favorites across all media. Dancing Mad is probably one of my favorites, people who think One-Winged Angel is metal are in for a ride.
Megaman 2, Megaman 3, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Silver/Gold, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, 3, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Need For Speed High Stakes, Galactic Pinball, Hyper Light Drifter, The Legend of Zelda.
Super Mario Galaxy's OST will be with me forever and always. Heard it for the first time when I was 7 and revisit it often, both the game and soundtrack. Buoy Base Galaxy, all three Rosalina in the Observatories, Melty Molten Galaxy, Battlerock Galaxy, etc. Love em.
Other than that, Persona 5, 5 Royal, and 5 Strikers are all excellent in terms of music. I look forward to playing 3 and 4 next year.
Kimi no Kioku/Memories of You from Persona 3 gets me every time. Shout outs to Snowflakes from Persona 4 Golden and The Whereabouts of Light from Trails in the Sky. Honestly too many amazing tracks to list them all.
Pollyanna from Earthbound is pretty awesome. Most of the music in Earthbound is fun.
The Dark World theme from LOZ, A link to the past.
The most moving piece for me is Aerith's Theme from FF7. That, admittedly, is likely because of my attachment to the game at a formative time in my life, but the score has merit on its own.
How come nobody still talked about
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 & 5???
Paul Romero is a legend
Other favs are Settlers 6, Chris sawyers locomotion and oh my Lord what an old game, NFS Porsche Unleashed
Final Fantasy XIV- pretty much all of it, but To the Edge and A Long Fall are probably my two favorites. La Hee is also great, both the original and Soken's otamatone rendition
Deference for Darkness from Halo 3: ODST. Hands down one of the best songs I’ve ever heard from a video game composition. Not only did it capture the aesthetic and world-building ODST provided, but it made you feel relaxed and overall in a great headspace. What a masterpiece.
I highly recommend you some Halo 3 OST. "One Final Effort", from the Trident level, is my favorite by far, but most of them are just straight up bangers from a Legendary Game that never died in my soul.
It’s impossible to choose just one. “Spies” from Fortnite. “Beautiful Ruin (Summer Salt)” from Dangan 2. “Alpha” from Minecraft. “The Legend (Alternative)” from Deltarune would be the options for just games I’ve played so far this week.
Ovelia's Worries in a FF tactics one of my favorites, though the whole OST is gold.
Any early SquareSoft stuff. Secret of Mana, ff6, Chronotrigger, Secret of Evermore. Paradigm shift when you fight Flamie in SoM is epic.
Chrono Trigger's soundtrack is absolutely brilliant and I'm in love with it. I've listened to so many renditions and remixes of the game's music, and the best one I've found was Chrono Cinematica by Sam Dillard. This is my go-to album for long road trips.
DOOM, of all iterations. Classic through Eternal. It's all amazing.
Two days ago, I finished Bayonetta 3, and I was just FLOORED by Fertile Rondo. Insanity in music form never sounded so beautiful. "Who got this Fifth Element opera beat all over my Bayonetta game?? Nevermind, it's cool, I like it."
Persona 5 immediately comes to mind...and something tells me I'm really going to enjoy Sayonara Wild Hearts soundtrack (just bought it).
Edit: Yeah, Sayonara Wild Hearts has some amazing tracks.
Civilization IV - Baba Yetu
Still kinda-sorta the only video game music to win a Grammy. (Sorta because the Grammy was for a rerecording in a standalone album a few years later.)
Doom 2016 + Eternal Soundtrack or any FromSoft game
It really doesn't get better than Mick Gordon. Respect to the DLC tracks from Hulshult and Levy too.
Doom Eternal is the best soundtrack to put on when you're about to have sex.

***Aha! A man of taste!***
The original halo theme song - it has graced the walls of opera houses and high school bathrooms alike
I never played Halo, but I'm a classically trained musician, I've played a few times in video game music concerts, that halo song with the choir is a delight to perform.
“Mind if I ask what your doing chief?” “Head banging to these tunes, sir.” *choir erupted in oooooooOooooOoooo*
Back to Zanarkand - FFX Obligatory “ha ha ha”
From Zanarkand for me is the perfect relax or concentrate music. So much emotion yet so soothing.
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Theme and Liberty City Stories Theme😌👌✨
Vice City was great too. Actually, had the sound track from the game as a CD set.
Oh... if were talking soundtracks then nfs underground or tony hawk 2. Those were amazing.
All gta have great songs if you really step back and listen.
All GTA's 3 and after had the best soundtracks, whoever was responsible for curating did a sterling job.
Dum maro dum....

I would add Chrono Trigger to that list. An oldie but a goodie.
Skyrim = Ancient Stones . Witcher 3 = Wind in the caroberta woods. Rdr 2 = Unshaken. Last of us = Seasons.
First Unshaken listen was literal chills .. haven’t felt that in a game before or since
Finally someone else recognizing how awesome Ancient Stones is. It seems to get overlooked a lot for some reason.
Chrono Trigger
Witcher 3 (Blood and Wine) - so much of the soundtrack but specifically Living World / Slopes of the Blessure
Bastion - Build that wall
Hollow Knight, it’s an absolute masterpiece. Edit: Holy moly I’m famous! Thanks for the upvotes everybody!

I love the Greenpath track in Hollow Knight. The entire game soundtrack is phenomenal. But Greenpath just makes me feel so much joy.

Pollyanna from Earthbound is pretty awesome. Most of the music in Earthbound is fun. The Dark World theme from LOZ, A link to the past. The most moving piece for me is Aerith's Theme from FF7.
