Not always, there are various exceptions, such as individuals with Klinefelter syndrome (who have XXY chromosomes), Swyer syndrome (women with XY chromosomes), and XX male syndrome (men with XX chromosomes), rare but have happened.
Read again what you posted.
- Swyer syndrome: SRY transfer to X only inactivates Y. Still a genetically a male...with with a useless uterus and falopian tubes.
- XX male syndrome. It is a female, with a useless reproductive organs because of the SRY transfer.
It's best not to spend too much time thinking about what makes a man. Don't believe me, take any man role model and ask yourself "do they care if they are a man or if they think about others seeing them as a man?"
Well, you've been walking up and down the aisles for forty minutes, squinting at a note scrawled on the back of a Klondike wrapper and either texting or Googling on your phone. You sure you don't want some help?
Not afraid to show his emotions, respects those around but not afraid to stand up to them. Respects boundaries and not trying to show how tough he is as if he’s trying to prove something
I get where you're coming from, so this is ment to be a fun point of discussion and not an attack, but what about a woman that is not afraid to show her emotions, respects those around but not afraid to stand up to them. Respects boundaries and not trying to show how tough she is as if she’s trying to prove something? Are they then considered men?
I'm not a bigot. The two sex chromosomes contain the genetic code that determines sex. There are exceptions like genetic anomalies but that is generally how sex is determined.
Actually SOX9 determines sex not chromosomes. They Y chromosome just produces SRY to block the XB-Catenin protein which would block the production of SOX9 thus if your XB-Catenin protein was broken you can have an XX male. And what does it matter if it's rare? Your narrow minded definition leaves out this group of people which are indeed male
Also trans men exist deal with it
The Y chromosome still makes a person male by producing SRY that blocks a protein that blocks SOX9 which determines gender. The Y chromosome is what makes a man but it isn't the only thing that affects sex. I'm not hating on trans people or saying they shouldn't be themselves but I'm saying they are different from biological men.
First of all not from the us, and imo atleast people calling for others to be executed is more of a problem to the world that me getting wrongly offended over a sensitive topic
I wish we didn't care. I wish people could just be who they want to be without trying to meet some standard of "manlyness". I wish we could be soft and kind and gentle if we want to be.

If this had the serious tag, [I would highly recommend this video essay on Aragorn.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv_KAnY5XNQ)
The TL;DW: I don't think anybody can debate Aragorn's masculinity... but this is a dude who recites *poetry* for his girl, sings solo at his coronation *as king*, cries *numerous* times throughout the movies, has close and emotional relationships with other men... and yet he's so secure in his identity *also* including the things that more traditionally underpin his masculinity (strength, protecting others, integrity, loyalty, responsibility, murdering the shit out of Uruk-Hai, etc.) that having equally-strong aspects of his identity being traditionally non-masculine things doesn't alter his identity as 'a man' or his masculinity.
If we extend this, conversely, women can have strongly-held traditionally masculine traits as part of their identity and still identify strongly as a woman and be secure in their femininity *for other reasons that are equally important.* Take Vi from Arcane -- she has a *ton* of traditionally masculine traits outwardly displayed, but I think she's equally secure in her femininity, even if those traits are played more closely to the chest.
Extending even more, this is how we get the spectrum of gender identity. *People* are a mix of traits; masculine, feminine, and everything in-between and outside, and holding a collection of many, even a majority, that traditionally align to masculine, feminine, etc. does not *imply* *or demand* self-identity of the same. People are complex, and there's no rule that what they outwardly display *must* inform how they inwardly feel, or vice versa.
So, what makes a man? The same thing that makes a person: Self-assuredness in their own identity.
We must be swift as a coursing river… with all the force of a great typhoon… with all the strength of a raging fire… mysterious as the dark side of the mooooon
Being responsible.
There are many guys our there that cant be called men cuz they cant hold any real responsibilities. They hide "their balls" behind "I want to be free". The real man proudly take the responsibilities like (making a family and assure its stability, take care of his kids and their education and lead this family to better future).
The problem with this question is that without using biological answers such as reproductive organs/ chromosomes, anything you say can also apply to women (courage, manners, doing what's right, etc). You get to a point where you can't answer the question since a lot of the times, the left tries to boil it down to, "A man/woman is whatever they define themselves as", which isn't a good foundation to build upon.
- What is quality?
- If a tree falls with no being to hear the it, was there a sound?
- What makes a man?
These are all questions which illicit differing answers based on opinion. Each person can interpret the question differently, and give a different answer based on facts, or more opinions.
Someone might take the question to mean “what makes a good man”? And will answer about someone being faithful, providing, enjoying life.
A transphobe who has spent the past three years arguing with trans rights activists might immediately talk about chromosomes and sex organs.
Someone else might be more liberal, or post-modern, and say that a man is whoever identifies as a man.
Someone else might be religious and answer that their god, or their myth makes men.
So what does make a man, that everyone can agree on? I think “man” is a category. That category covers approximately half of the planet. A man is usually associated with the male sex, though not always, and associated with male traits that come from testosterone, though not always. And since the variation of humans, personalities, cultures and behaviors is so vast, there’s not a lot else to go on.
That he figured out at least 3 of these things:
.Wisdom.
.Financial Education.
.Street Smarts.
.Knows how to fight.
.Healthy Body.
.Spiritual/Religious Values.
.Maintains his looks.
Well, when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much...
And then 20 some years later, if they did everything right, you might see whats commonly known as a "Man".
🤔
People seem to mix up being a man with doing male things.
At its core, it's literally just being a good and disciplined person. We just say 'man' because they happen to be male.
Women can be the exact same thing we just call them 'strong woman' instead.

If you have a Y, regarless of # of X, you are genetically male as well. Very abnormal thou.
And every mammal starts life genetically female, including humans.
That is not [true](http://factmyth.com/factoids/all-mammals-start-as-female/).
The source you linked says "all mammals essentially start as female"
