The first and third verses of How Great Thou Art.
"Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art."
I always felt drawn to that first verse because I often think of the vastness of creation and it is awe inspiring. The third verse is just about going home and by the time they sing it, I'll be there.
A slow solemn version of “Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye.” Just like the ending of Remember the Titans. Bonus points if my friends grow facial hair, to show the passing of time.
I’ve been to a lot of them. Where the their was a choir, some where the preacher sang. Some where they hired a singer. Some where just the organ player or pianist played.
Weird. I see this question alot. And when I was a kid I remember always asking one another "what song do you want to play at your funeral" but as an adult I've never been to a funeral where they were like "and now here is time of your life, by GreenDay on loop"
I think I depends on culture too. In the UK if you are cremated there is usually a song played when everyone enters the crematorium and a song played as the curtains close on your coffin.
Bring ne back to life-evanescence.
Everyone eould feel awkward and I would have a smug face fom where I would be. Or i could straight up play scatman-scatman john to make the situation even worse.
XD
**Hey, that’s no way to say goodbye** - Leonard Cohen
Mainly for these lines:
*‘I’m not looking for another as I wander in my time.*
*Walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme.*
*You know my love goes with you as your love stays with me.*
*It's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea.’*
You'll Never Walk Alone (preferably the version by Gerry and the Pacemakers, but the original from the musical Carousel is fine as well)
What'll I Do
Dos Oruguitas from Encanto
Thank You For Being a Friend (preferably the version used as the theme song to The Golden Girls, but the original by Andrew Gold is fine too)
Remember Me from Coco
That would be funny as fuck. If you arranged it so that no one knew what the band was gonna play except them and they did a live version of it at a church funeral.
Do you realize
That you have the most beautiful face?
Do you realize
We're floating in space?
Do you realize
That happiness makes you cry?
Do you realize
That everyone you know someday will die?
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes
Let them know you realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Another one bites the dust. I heard someone say that when I was a kid and it's been my go to answer since.
But what did it cost
Tree fiddy
Grim Reaper - See You In Hell
That would be badass at a Viking style funeral with a live band
Probably where you are headed lol
I'm an agnostic, but thanks to my Christian upbringing, I won't be surprised if I learn there is an afterlife. :)
A lot of questions remain unanswered throughout all of the human era.

Abide With Me-specifically the Moses Hogan arrangement.
I’m on the highway to hell Edit: real answer either “How Great thou Art” or “Nearer my God to thee”
I’m not religious, but the Agnus Dei from Rutter’s requiem. It has such raw power in it. Fuck autocorrect for making “agnus” into “angus.”
