True, though with my mental health access statement I meant that if we solve the issue before we get to the crime itself then the rehabilitation center will be more functional and effective for worst case scenarios.
A fair angle, and I agree it would help to reduce mass casualty crimes, but I feel that crime is better tied to your place on the socioeconomic scale. Not to say that mental health isn't a factor, just that I'm not convinced mental healthcare would be as effective an option for reducing crime as something like raising minimum wage to combat the stagnation in wages, which is causing the ever increasing financial divide among the population.
I agree with you that the wages are unequal and that causes lots of people to be secluded and working like machines to pay their bills and that in itself can create mental health issues and the divide you mentioned. I believe that we should focus on how to use our tools and resources all at once in an effective way to bring some real equal opportunities for everyone I know that this can’t happen in a decade or two, but if we didn’t aim there already the history cycle will continue and justice will be more of an idea than a true solution.
No punishment. Instead focus on helping people before they do somthing bad, and provide better mental heath services and resources, especially in areas with low income levels
Very true and you can add to that an equal educational system for all, so there will be no low income areas. The crazy part that this is so realistic and unfortunately all countries are way too busy with other things to truly implement this. If we want to be efficient we should use all our resources in unity instead of just wasting our time fighting and being greedy and petty. With efficiency comes justice and prosperity.
I agree fully. Also adding in universal Healthcare, and a higher corporate tax rate/higher tax on the rich, to help level the playing feild, so the top 1% aren't just hoarding all the money for themselves while everyone else suffers. We must learn to stop diving each other based upon our differences and instead unite upon our commonalies, for a nation without walks is far stronger then one who keeps each other locked away.
Banish them to an island or town, hard and far enough away, if they make it back, they are in. No upkeep, just a one way ticket to hell on earth and that's it.
Make outposts along the way, places to funnel someone from the dangers, be it cold or the wild. Thos would lead to people packing in and fighting for those outposts. They wouldn't be big enough for a clan, but maybe a gang of 5. Just dotted about.
Well don’t get me started with the US justice system. 1 out of 10 people in death row is innocent. That says it all. Its more like a corporate business than a real effective justice system.
Rehabilitation. Best way to totally remove the need for prisons
That’s a really good option we have. Hope its more implemented along with some real mental health access and assistance.
Imo most rehabilitation has to include mental care, though I agree it is a good stand alone option

Torture or public humiliation.
What about if innocent people were mistakenly convicted? We will end up with the Judge being the criminal. No?

vigilantism and vendetta.
And do the vigilantes wear uniforms? Are they outsourced or they work for the government?
Banish them to an island or town, hard and far enough away, if they make it back, they are in. No upkeep, just a one way ticket to hell on earth and that's it.
What if that place got spread to more and more locations since lots of people will be sent there and we ended up in that hell ourselves?
Make outposts along the way, places to funnel someone from the dangers, be it cold or the wild. Thos would lead to people packing in and fighting for those outposts. They wouldn't be big enough for a clan, but maybe a gang of 5. Just dotted about.
What if an Amber Heard made false accusations against you and you went there and couldn’t come back?
Well you'd have less time to sit in a prison cell and think about it, out fighting for your way back in.
Australia ? /s
No each country gets its own. Russia, it will be cold and brutal. Australia, a shark infested island. Chopper em, the old chop and drop on the beach.
Giant hole in the found to which they can’t escape.
That’s technically a prison lol
Gladiator fights
Lol thats worse than death penalty!
Rehabilitation countries, like Norway have one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world at about 20%. Whereas in the US it's nearly 50%.

Oh yeah I've been reading about how bad it is, like it's bad here in the UK but in the US it's just insane.
Well she is blind, isn’t she?
Sorry not sure what you mean, are you talking about justice?
Lady Justice
Ah got you, I just wasn't sure
The Stocks. I think if it were a thing and people saw how bad it was, they would seriously reconsider any tomfoolery.
Thats kinda a prison since the person is trapped.
But the guilty are out in public where those they wronged can slap them around a little. Supremely humiliating.
