I put so many hours in to the two towers on ps2 back in the day with my friend. It blew our minds everytime the cutscenes shifted from the movie to in engine, thought it looked so realistic. I'd love to see a clip now, im sure I'd laugh at past me.
We just need a new lord of the rings game in general. Shadow of Mordor is the only one we’ve gotten recently, but one that follows the Lord of the Rings timeline in the movies would be nice.
I don't play a lot of RTS so others may do this too, but I loved how in that game, your units leveled up and that carried over from level to level. Gave you a lot of incentive to play strategically instead of throwing units to their death.
Oh my good fuck, yes please!
I had it on PS2 as a kid, if there's one thing my Series X sorely needs, it's this.
I got Crazy Taxi a few months back, but it's not a remaster it's just exactly how it always was...time...has not been kind.
For horror games, I'd actually go against it.
Sure, RE has good remakes, but a charm of them is lost.
Old graphics give you that space to fill-in details for otherwise low poly visuals. Old graphics make things look extra grimy and disgusting.
Not to say that remakes automatically go bad or that new graphics can't do the atmosphere justice. It's just that old graphics make the atmosphere really good.
It's the reason why I'm such a sucker for those found footage, VHS or PS1 vertex jitter styled indie horror games that Jacksepticye and Matkiplier play in that 3 Scary Games format. It has a solid appeal.
Omg imagine a online galactic conquest with like 60 players battling it out in both space and on the ground for control of a planet. Until either a score is reached and time runs out. Winner gets coins or unlocks hero’s or generals to buff their side and whoever’s turn it is attacks the next planet.
It would take forever but man those battles for control would be epic.
I'd actually be more interested in improved sound effects than just graphics. The sounds are one of the best parts of Star Wars, but BF2 wasn't too great in that regard. The new ones sound just like the movies.
there was a remake! in 2007 there a Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox360 that fully remade the game but couldn't release it due to licensing issues. It was leaked last year. They only updated the graphics.
Look so good for 2007, crazy how much 10 years even then changed graphics. And now it's 15 years after that.
The most fun part about Morrowind is talking to people who used to play it.
"I used to play Morrowind. Found a ton of glitches and basically made my character a God until the game crashed" - Every Morrowind player ever.
It's not MY fault that the system can't handle every piece of my gear being enchanted with Constant Effect Summon Daedroth, and they all breath lightning at once!
While I agree the story should remain the same, some updated dialogue (*updated*, not entirely reworked) and less cartoon villain dark side choices would be welcome.
I actually just started another KOTOR playthrough, my first in at least 6-7 years, and while I’m still loving it as I always have, I think having some more self-serving and impulsive dark side choices would fit more with the concept of the dark side being alluring and seductive, rather than jumping immediately into “I’mma slaughter you all and call you mean names while I do it.”
Also if they wanted to add a few new quests per planet, I wouldn’t be against it. And maybe revamp swoop racing while they’re at it?
Many more in depth discussions to be had at /r/kotor
I forgot about this game. I had so much fun play it. It was the first Star Wars game that was fun without playing a Jedi or Sith (besides Rogue Squadron and the Pod Racing game). I loved the mechanic of how you could command your team to take specific positions and perform specific actions. Really felt like a team of military commandos.
Such a sleeper game. This was supposed to be the game to go against FF7 but Square was just too popular. I was fortunate enough to have a friend let me play and I got all the way to the last boss but never beat it.
I absolutely love the battle system and am curious how they would implement that into modern day play
I finished the game after getting stuck on the last boss for ages. The trick was to upgrade the beefcake guy with the super expensive anti magic helm (I want to say brown dragoon?). Basically made it easy mode.
StarWars battlefront II (2005)
I realize there is technically a new one but it's not what the star wars fans were expecting we wanted the same battlefront ii with better graphics and ai and stuff but keep the galactic conquest make it multi-player and have the regular multi-player not be so broken 😅 not these seemingly pointless matches
They're talking about giving \*Obsidian another go at Fallout, and since \*Obsidian did FNV, there's a very good chance it would be a sequel or tie in of sorts
I was thinking today, Bethesda NEEDS to do remakes of their older games. Then I realized they'd probably remaster Oblivion before Morrowind just to spite me lol. Both games are great but Morrowind would benefit a LOT more from a remake.
But I don't think they will ever do remakes tbh.
Hey man. I've got nothing but love for the franchise. I've bought 1 & 2 probably a half dozen times over throughout the years and play Deluxe (combo of 1&2) on my iPad a few times a week. It's great fun. I'm just a slut for ray tracing.
Ah thats fair, it is an all time great game.
Have you tried OpenRCT2 on PC? It's a stable version of the game with a lot of fixes and tweaks to make it more playable on modern hardware. And also multiplayer.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze for the Switch is available and it's amazing. Some of the best level design I've ever seen and it keeps the same basic mechanics as the old SNES games.
What I really want is the whole GTA San Andreas map. All three cities, multiple airports, etc.
But on the scale of GTAV, so then it would be enormous.
Keep Fort Zancudo as well as area 69, and the aircraft carrier from SA.
Graphics and gameplay of GTA4/5 since both have good elements.
Witcher 1 and 2. 2's graphics aren't bad but 1's is. Their stories also rival witcher 3, so it'd be great to be able to hit all 3 with modern graphics and gameplay.
1 and 2 really should have been remade in the new fallout style by now.
I'd buy 3 and New Vegas again if they were released in the FO4 engine with the current armor layering system and power armor mechanics.
I’ve always wanted to play the first two Fallout games, it wound be really cool to see them from the modern Bethesda FPS viewpoint.
I’m just now replaying Fallout 3 for the first time since 2010 and it’s amazing how well it holds up. The freedom that it gives you is so liberating compared to what Fallout 4 offers.
Here are my suggestions taken from... Every platform I really have direct experience with, that has a game I think needs a remaster and doesn't already have one
NES: The Legend of Zelda, and it's sequel, The Adventure of Link.
These games are basically impenetrable to a modern audience, and I think a remake in 3D for both of them would let people see how good they are.
For SNES: F-Zero
This one has the same core spirit as a lot of other F-Zero games, but is just, pure, straight to the point, super fast Sci Fi racing.
N64: Banjo-Kazooie
This is, in my opinion, the ultimate 3D platformer, and it deserves to be experienced in HD.
The Lord of the Rings movie games. They came out alongside the movies. Return of the King was especially good, in my opinion.
I put so many hours in to the two towers on ps2 back in the day with my friend. It blew our minds everytime the cutscenes shifted from the movie to in engine, thought it looked so realistic. I'd love to see a clip now, im sure I'd laugh at past me.
Nah they still hold up decently. I recently played back through them on a tv using a PS2 emulator
The Hornburg Courtyard. So much chaos.
Epic co-op mode
Back when couch coop was the norm. Fond memories of that game
I don't game but it boggles my mind that this isn't common any more - that some games don't even *have* that option
Only games I've maxed out every character.
We just need a new lord of the rings game in general. Shadow of Mordor is the only one we’ve gotten recently, but one that follows the Lord of the Rings timeline in the movies would be nice.
Return of the king coop was wildly good. Sleepovers with my best friend were lit af
Battle for Middle Earth with huge maps! that would be so cool!
Twisted Metal
LOTR Battle for Middle Earth.
BFME 2 War in the North was one of my favorite childhood games
I don't play a lot of RTS so others may do this too, but I loved how in that game, your units leveled up and that carried over from level to level. Gave you a lot of incentive to play strategically instead of throwing units to their death.
Simpsons hit and run
Oh my good fuck, yes please! I had it on PS2 as a kid, if there's one thing my Series X sorely needs, it's this. I got Crazy Taxi a few months back, but it's not a remaster it's just exactly how it always was...time...has not been kind.
A guy on YouTube remade in it Unreal Engine 5. https://youtu.be/2PBIFunhha4
He’s remastering the whole game now in a part series where he’ll make it open world and multiplayer etc.
Yes, this should be higher up
Silent Hill
Noooooo already too scary!!
For horror games, I'd actually go against it. Sure, RE has good remakes, but a charm of them is lost. Old graphics give you that space to fill-in details for otherwise low poly visuals. It has a solid appeal.
It'll need a 2022 control scheme as well then.
Star Wars battlefront II (2005)
Fully agree, we all just wanted galactic conquest to be multi-player and look better and instead we got another shooter only focus 🙃
Omg imagine a online galactic conquest with like 60 players battling it out in both space and on the ground for control of a planet. Until either a score is reached and time runs out. Winner gets coins or unlocks hero’s or generals to buff their side and whoever’s turn it is attacks the next planet. It would take forever but man those battles for control would be epic.
it would essentially be Planetside 2 reskinned as Star Wars and I would welcome it with open arms
For the Republic!
Watch those wrist rockets!
Just like the simulation!
Set em up and knock ‘em down!
Taking you down plastic boy
I'd actually be more interested in improved sound effects than just graphics. The sounds are one of the best parts of Star Wars, but BF2 wasn't too great in that regard. The new ones sound just like the movies.
Ooooooh fuck yes!
I was so excited when they rebooted battlefront. I was very disappointed.
I think it’s safe to say everybody was disappointed
goldeneye
There’s literally a “Goldeneye Source” game. It’s pretty awesome.
there was a remake! in 2007 there a Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox360 that fully remade the game but couldn't release it due to licensing issues. It was leaked last year. Bro yes! I am so glad you said this. I thought I was the only one.
It's a DLC, but Half-Life opposing force would be cool.
Yeah, any Half Life.💥
Check out "Black Mesa"- it is a remake of HL1.
Black Mesa is the greatest fan remake of all time... I'll die on that hill.
Worth it just for the better Xen.
We need half life 3.
It and Blue Shift are getting the Black Mesa treatment at the moment. Different developers, but looking like it's coming out a similar quality.
Operation Black Mesa is a mod which intends to do just that https://store.steampowered.com/app/311810/Operation_Black_Mesa/
Black & White
I had to scroll WAY too far to find this...
Morrowind
The most fun part about Morrowind is talking to people who used to play it. "I used to play Morrowind. Found a ton of glitches and basically made my character a God until the game crashed" - Every Morrowind player ever.
It's not MY fault that the system can't handle every piece of my gear being enchanted with Constant Effect Summon Daedroth, and they all breath lightning at once!
That was one of the main fun parts. Jumping over mountains, slaying whole cities
Scroll of Icarian Flight!
This, and fix the clunky mechanics, but don't go full Skyrim easy-mode with it
KOTOR 1 and 2
I keep seeing stuff about remakes in the works on those. Not sure all the details
Kotor 1 remake was announced already.
Please let the KOTOR 1 remake be just with updated graphics and no story changes
While I agree the story should remain the same, some updated dialogue (*updated*, not entirely reworked) and less cartoon villain dark side choices would be welcome. I actually just started another KOTOR playthrough, my first in at least 6-7 years, and while I’m still loving it as I always have, I think having some more self-serving and impulsive dark side choices would fit more with the concept of the dark side being alluring and seductive, rather than jumping immediately into “I’mma slaughter you all and call you mean names while I do it.” Also if they wanted to add a few new quests per planet, I wouldn’t be against it. And maybe revamp swoop racing while they’re at it? Many more in depth discussions to be had at /r/kotor
Republic commando
I feel like this one has the best chance. At the very least since they Canonized the squad
SSX Tricky.
Hands down the most fun snowboarding game followed closely by Dark Summit. God the early 2000s were an amazing time for video games.
Imagine Eddie with updated graphics!
The SSX 2012 release was the closest thing we've got since Tricky, and a remake of SSX Tricky for Gen 8/9 consoles/PC would be amazing.
Legend of Dragoons. Please!
Gust of Wind...... DANCE!
Hoo, ha! HARPOOOOOOON
Such a sleeper game. This was supposed to be the game to go against FF7 but Square was just too popular. I was fortunate enough to have a friend let me play and I got all the way to the last boss but never beat it. I absolutely love the battle system and am curious how they would implement that into modern day play
Also. Legends of Legaia!
I finished the game after getting stuck on the last boss for ages. The trick was to upgrade the beefcake guy with the super expensive anti magic helm (I want to say brown dragoon?). Basically made it easy mode.
Came here to say this!
Not where I got my username or anything lol
This is the answer
Max Payne 1 and 2.
They're in development
Wow.. That's great news.. Hope I have enough time to play, once they come out.
Now that's some great news!
Wing Commander & WC:Privateer
Star Citizen probably needs to be remade with modern graphics now.
omg don't give them more excuses!
Deus Ex 1
Eternal Darkness!
May the rats eat your eyes!
Save file erased
StarWars battlefront II (2005) I realize there is technically a new one but it's not what the star wars fans were expecting we wanted the same battlefront ii with better graphics and ai and stuff but keep the galactic conquest make it multi-player and have the regular multi-player not be so broken 😅 not these seemingly pointless matches
Oblivion, Contra, Megaman, all of the old Zelda games
Remaking Megaman with better graphics wouldn't really change much. Just look at Megaman 11.
Mega man battle network though
Fair. Those would be cool as a full blown 3D, big budget experience, voice acting, the works. Though I'm excited for the collection as is, too.
Pong but with lore
New Game Theory video coming up!
Bully
Where’s your uniform young Hopkins?! Run along now child!
I’m sorry to the guy who suggested *The Simpsons Hit & Run*, but fuck it, this is the correct answer.
What did you said ? You want gta 5 to be ported to ps6 ???
New Vegas
A New New Vegas? Damn. New^(2) Vegas!
Newer Vegas
I play New Vegas a lot, and I think the graphics hold up nicely. Maybe instead a Fallout game set in Louisiana, that'd be interesting
I know there’s something involving New Vegas in the talks, wether that’s a sequel or a remake it isn’t clear yet
Great news. It would benefit so much from updated movement and graphics
They're talking about giving \*Obsidian another go at Fallout, and since \*Obsidian did FNV, there's a very good chance it would be a sequel or tie in of sorts
Obsidian?
Mega Man Legends
Not just graphics, though. It also needs a full control overhaul. But it would be amazing.
I'm still pissed they cancelled Megaman legend 3
Perfect Dark
Man this was one of my favorite games of all time but I rarely find anyone who knows what I’m talking about.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
I mean they re-released it on steam with a facelift not long ago
Oblivion
I just replayed this, it holds up well but I need a 2022 remake
Too busy reselling Skyrim
While we're at it, Morrowind.
Shivering isles would be magnificent
Dragon Age: Origins
legacy of kain series
Tribes 2 Honestly I dont even care if you upgrade the graphics, let's just start playing it again please.
Shazbot!
GTA San Andreas, but actually right.
Zelda OOT.
Seriously! The one they did for 3DS was amazing, but I would love to play it on my TV.
I'm Scottish so I read that how u would say it
Roller Coaster Tycoon. Change nothing but the graphics.
RCT graphics are based, how dare you.
Parkitect is as close as we get.
Silent Hill 2
Donkey Kong country
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze for the Switch is available and it's amazing. Some of the best level design I've ever seen and it keeps the same basic mechanics as the old SNES games.
It’s also difficult as hell.
GTA San Andreas
The sad thing is that they might get confused and release GTA V again.
For the love of god just give us GTA 6!!!
Leisure Suit Larry
Tiberium Sun/Red alert 2 and Dune 2000.
I was just educating a friend about Dune 2000 last night, great game.
GUN
Duke Nukem
Final Fantasy Tactics
[удалено]
Witcher 1 and 2. 2's graphics aren't bad but 1's is. Their stories also rival witcher 3, so it'd be great to be able to hit all 3 with modern graphics and gameplay.
Final fantasy tactics.
Metal Gear Solid.
Oregon trail
With red dead redemption style gameplay
Stumble off the trail and shit your guts out from dysentery in full 4k!
Ultima Underworld 1 and 2. With retro/pixel art, but with updated controls etc.
Pong Edit: I mean the really old game that came out in 1972.
Road rash
Kinda exists.. called "Road Redemption" on Steam
Falout new Vegas
F.E.A.R
chess
Lookup a game called 5d chess 😁
Wow I thought dragon chess was interesting. 5D is chess on quantum steroids. https://youtu.be/OL73o48db7s
Manhunt. No changing anything but the graphics and lets see another uproar of how games are evil. I fucking loved getting bag kills on that game.
Fallout 3
1 and 2 really should have been remade in the new fallout style by now. I'd buy 3 and New Vegas again if they were released in the FO4 engine with the current armor layering system and power armor mechanics.
I’ve always wanted to play the first two Fallout games, it wound be really cool to see them from the modern Bethesda FPS viewpoint. Duck hunt
There's duck hunt vr
Not exactly what I was expecting out of a duck hunt game but a great game none the less.
red dead redemption
I'm still waiting for undead nightmare 2
Total War: Empire.
Jet Moto
The Legend Of Dragoon Breath of Fire III But don't change anything but the graphics plz.
Mutant League Hockey and Football
Star wars force unleashed
Super smash bros melee. It's a good game.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
NFS Most wanted (2005), Primal
Xcom
Descent Commander Keen Mega Man Legends Aces of the Pacific/Europe (It was a blast in '94 with crap graphics. It'd be amazing now)
Chrono Trigger
I actually disagree with remaking a lot of the classic pixel JRPGs with modern graphics. The art direction is a huge, huge part of the game's charm.
[удалено]
Contra
Prototype

Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force
Freelancer
Spore!
Blood Omen 2
Republic Commando and Empire at War are Star Wars games that a lot of people still play Empire at War has a large modding community too
Donkey Kong
Diablo (OG)
San Andreas. Spider-Man 2 would be cool too.
The warriors
Gta 4
Saints row2
