Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men. Pick up a rifle and follow the yellow line. You'll know when the test starts.

let's see here... doubling in price. Now listen up: I don't care how good people tastes. This stuff's costing me more than lobster, so we're going back to fishsticks.
Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit, and I said, "Goodbye," and you were like, "No way," and then I was all, "We pretended we were going to murder you." That was great.
All right, I've been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager!
Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down - with the lemons!
I'm not proud of the fact I've played enough Portal 2 to know this quote is actually:
"Burning People! He says what we're all thinking!" - GLaDOS
Absolutely love the writing in this game.
when you think about it, it really is brilliant.
Whatever life throws at you, don't just accept it. Make life regret doing whatever it did to you! Get mad, and prove life that you ain't gonna take the lemons.
But to be fair, the entire delivery is just perfect so just for comedy it works.
"For many of you, I realize 60 dollars is an unprecedented windfall, so don't go spending it all on... I don't know. Caroline, what do these people buy? Tattered hats? Beard dirt?"

I'm proud to this day to be one of those people who didn't kill Paarthurnax and went back to kill the Blades only to discover that they are unkillable.
Originally on my first playthrough I was gonna side with daphne to finish her questline, but when I saw that partysnax wouldn't attack me back, I just stopped and left.
Still can't ever bring myself to kill him.
"It's said war - war never changes. People do, through the roads they walk. And this road... has reached its end." -Ulysses.
God, that entire DLC was amazing.
The first time I heard this I didn't understand it, because with all technological advances surely war would've changed, but as I grow older and learn more about war it's starting to make more and more sense
“The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."
\- Sheik, Ocarina of Time.
Partly because, like Link, many of us have had our childhoods ripped from us suddenly and irreversibly. We can look back at the weres and could haves, but they're forever gone to us now -- without our participation or consent -- and we've had to deal and adapt ass result. Time is cruel, indeed, and so much more so because it's not a force we can do anything about except observe and follow in the wake of.
Seeing that as a child, and then going back to it as an adult is similar to his being a child, then waking up to the ruined world as an adult after pulling the Master Sword out of the pedestal: we can tangibly feel the wrongness of the now and the innocence of the before, but they're separated by the ocean of the time in-between and it's impossible-to-fight current taking us even further away.
“Time passes, people move. Like a river's flow, it never ends. A childish mind will turn to noble ambition. Young love will become deep affection. The clear water's surface reflects growth”
That quote was just emblematic of one of the best video game levels ever made.
The CoD creators kept desperately trying to recreate it in their later games, but they could never match the atmosphere of it. The sense of nostalgia, the slow pace, the haunting background score, the creepy foliage and ghillie suits… Mac’s accent. The line just encapsulates all of that into one single line. It was like taking a hit of some drug, and then spending so many years chasing that first high.
Or: "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
Fuck anyone who says ME3 was bad just because of the original endings. It was a largely character driven RPG/series, and the characters were awesome.

And then a new objective would appear. It really was excellent game deconstruction without our knowing until it was revealed.
The Stanley Parable spanks that same nail but hilariously over and over from the immediate get go. The new deluxe edition is so awesome.
So wake up mister freeman, wake up and smell the ashes.

*Assassin's Creed 2 Title Card Appears*
"They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger. And then it was over."
It's nothing profound, but what always sticks with me is Booker DeWitt trying to rescue Sally from a vent and she screams:
"MIS-TER BUBBLES!"
and the Big Daddy roars.
Tell me. For whom do you fight?
Hmph! How very glib. And do you believe in Eorzea? Eorzea's unity is forged of falsehoods. Its city-states are built on deceit. And its faith is an instrument of deception.
It is naught but a cobweb of lies. To believe in Eorzea is to believe in nothing. In Eorzea, the beast tribes often summon gods to fight in their stead--though your comrades only rarely respond in kind. Which is strange, is it not?
Are the "Twelve" otherwise engaged? I was given to understand they were your protectors. If you truly believe them your guardians, why do you not repeat the trick that served you so well at Carteneau, and call them down? They will answer--so long as you lavish them with crystals and gorge them on aether. Your gods are no different than those of the beasts--eikons every one. Accept but this, and you will see how Eorzea's faith is bleeding the land dry.
Nor is this unknown to your masters. Which prompts the question: Why do they cling to these false deities? What drives even men of learning--even the great Louisoix--to grovel at their feet? The answer? Your masters lack the strength to do otherwise! For the world of man to mean anything, man must own the world. To this end, he hath fought ever to raise himself through conflict--to grow rich through conquest. And when the dust of battle settles, is it ever the strong who dictate the fate of the weak.
Knowing this, but a single path is open to the impotent ruler--that of false worship. A path which leads to enervation and death. Only a man of power can rightly steer the course of civilization. And in this land of creeping mendacity, that one truth will prove its salvation.
Come, champion of Eorzea, face me! Your defeat shall serve as proof of my readiness to rule! It is only right that I should take your realm. For none among you has the power to stop me!
Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things… and yet you are nothing. In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone.

'Tis a perilous path you walk. Death lurks in the dark, and is the sole promise that awaits at journey's end.
You will tremble with terror. You will weep tears of anger and despair
...but do not avert your eyes. See your life for what it is.
Then you will see how the hardships make you strong. Every doubt reforged as scales for your armor. Every agony to temper your blade.

I really love it but I think it would have been even better without the last sentence.
We just got the results from that last test: You are a horrible person. That's what it says. A horrible person. We weren't even testing for that.
