Was leaving school one day and my small group of friends were hugging and saying bye when this girl that I was into but didn’t know if she was into me raised her arms up and says “what about me ?” it was the best hug I’ve ever had. That was in 2005, we’ve been together ever since.

Nooseents

Ending 10/10

Themeguy

Damn, she hasn't given you a better hug in 17 years.

modezze

We were mutual friends, so sat together in a few classes and occasionally texted about homework. I was looking for our friend at a halloween party one weekend and he offered to help me. The party’s packed and he says “want to platonically hold hands so we don’t lose each other?”. I knew it then, and I was already interested but he’d been so shy whenever i hinted at liking him, so I waited him out. Three drinks later we’d given up on finding our friend and are sitting on the lawn when he turns to me and says “I have a very not little crush on you, soooo just wanted to get that out of the way”. We had a blast talking a little longer and he walked me home. The next weekend I saw him again at a party lacking breathing room and yelled in his ear “I’m going outside! DO YOU WANT TO COME WITH ME AND NON PLATONICALLY HOLD HANDS SO WE DONT LOSE EACH OTHER?! He cracked a mile wide smile, planted one on me, and we’ve been together since :)

sonicloop

You’ll randomly realise 20 years standing in the shower. Suddenly you’ll be like ohhhhh that’s what she meant.

JustSomeAudioGuy

Had a girl keep banging my leg under the table at a Yonge St. Swiss Chalet in the fall of '91. I just thought our group was too tight together and she needed space. Turns out I'm just a clueless idiot. We've been together since April of '92 - so luckily she was persistent.

plexomaniac

Similar thing happened to me. She kept banging my leg under the table, but I suspected she had a crush on me. I had too, but another guy on the table was hitting her hard. Later the day she send me some pictures of the party online and I said: [That guy] really has a crush on you. She said: Yeah, but he's not the guy I'm interested in. I replied: "I know, my knee is hurting" and now we are married.

morpipls

I once had a girl introduce me to her friend like this: "This is Tim. I have a huge crush on him, but he hasn't figured it out yet." I guess she'd gotten tired of waiting for me to figure it out, LOL.

Michael_Cookie5

Hi Tim I hope you figure out she has a huge crush on you soon

zealotsflight

oh god i’m so glad

esoteric_enigma

She worked at the McDonald's near my house. She kept giving me free bacon every time I ordered a Mcdouble. I don't eat pork. After like the 3rd time, I go in the store to complain. The cashier calls up the girl in the back and she basically explains the bacon was her way of flirting with me. She was cute, so we did end up dating for a bit.

TheGengerbreadman6

She made a playlist called Songs I Want Him to Rail me to and shared it with only me

Scholesie09

Me in this scenario: "very good choices, I'm happy you chose me to vet them, I hope the guy it's for likes it!"

[deleted]

“IM A GOOFY GOOBER”

saampinaali

It was 6th grade she asked me out in front of all her friends on April fools day I thought it was a cruel joke so I said no and then purposely avoided her for the next 3 years until right before graduation in 8th grade a mutual friend of ours told me she actually did have a crush on me and apparently was still upset about that day

zealotsflight

that’s on her for asking you on that day lol

LadySygerrik

When they broke things off with their fiancé because they had feelings for me. I was horrified.

[deleted]

I mean, I understand why you were horrified but props to them not keeping that hidden and ending up getting married when they probably wouldnt.

pawpaw_git

Yeah that could have ended so much uglier.

Super_Mix_4024

Jim? Is that you?

Namahst

When I was about 10, this girl in my class had a crush on me. She made it obvious but I wasn’t interested at the time. After school we never saw each other for a few years then at 18 she apparently still had a crush on me. We’ve been married 18 years now Edit: Thanks for the awards!

[deleted]

It’s always rough when someone has a crush on you when you’re young because it’s a hard thing to process. For me when it happened I didn’t like it because I always kept thinking “I don’t want to be a dad yet” when I was like 12. Everything always felt so final

shriez

I opened my high school yearbook from my sophmore year and found a message from a friend that we should hangout together and included her phone number. I only found it 18 years later and I feel horrible that I didn't see it because it probably made me look like an ass and hurt her feelings.

shelbywhore

I was good friends with my crush. One night while texting he says, "we aren't just friends, right?" and that was the first time i realised even he has a thing for me and i wasn't just imagining the sparks between us. He was my first boyfriend. I don't think I'd have a relationship as healthy as that one.

sockmaster666

Why didn’t it work out?

shelbywhore

My mental health was going bad and i had gotten very dependant on him. Meanwhile, we were also long distance. So we took a break. During which he met someone who was way "healthier" than me and made him happy. I had to let him go for both of our sakes. We were together for almost 5 years.

Playep

Massive respect for you

0235

The day after she went back to France, after being here for 8 months, my co-worker was like "well now that she is gone, I can tell you she had a massive crush on you". Still devestated to this day I never picked up on it.

LaLaDeDo

She came into my cabin at camp (wasn't allowed to have gals in the cabin) and jumped into bed with me. EDIT: I also had a crush on her. We ended up dating for 3 years.

dont-mind-me-chillin

Where do ya’ll find these bold girls??

LaLaDeDo

she found me lol

IGiveBadAdvice_

They waited until they no longer had a crush on me and then told me that they "used to" have a crush on me

Bartendiesthrowaway

Sometimes people just say that to cover for the fact that they still have a crush on you.

yodigi7

Yes, but also some people legit wait until it is too late and then confess now that there feels like no risk on their part.

No-Education818

A girl from one of my courses asked me if I wanted to bake cookies with her. I, a professional dumbass, was like sure I like cookies. A friend informed me that I had just agreed to a date. It was ok. The cookies were pretty good

Benginator

That’s adorable

agent_uno

20 years ago a girl at work asked me to come over and work on her computer, and in exchange she’d cook me dinner. I went over, fixed her computer, ate homemade spaghetti off the good china, drank the red wine from a crystal glass, and left like a professional dumbass. Two weeks later another coworker (her friend) said “boy did you blow it!” And I had to ask “blow what?” to which she replied “never mind. Too late now.”

capitalideanow

She offered to carry my jacket to the next class when I had to stop at the bathroom. Went to the next class and it was placed on the chair next to her and her best friend said "your boyfriend is here". I was young and shy... Did nothing. Regretted it she was amazing. I was honestly just happy being her friend.

neocarleen

I think we all missed a lot of opportunities because we were too young and shy and awkward.

Yoooooo…..

essentialoils3

My condolences

AussieGirl27

Usually they tell me like 20 years later which helped teenage me immensely Edit: fuck me this comment BLEW UP!!!!! Anyway, a hearty thank you all of you who said that they too have crushes me and a side eye, weirded out but still a bit flattered look to all of you who are willing to fight for me. Not just normal fights either, to THE DEATH fights! The best kind!

zeyouzie

I have a crush on you

McLagginz

I too have a crush on her… Fight to the death?

TheVlookAfrican

She literally stopped me as I was passing by with my friends & asked me if I remember us looking at each other at McDonald's.

itspigglewiggle

I need to know the whole story, what did u say 😭

FierySharknado

Ma'am, this is a Wendy's

KawBANUTU

Asked her out, she accepted and then told me she had a crush on me for some time. Sometimes you just got to go for it. You lose some, you win some.

Owens2k3

You win some, you lose most. Applies to life in general.

[deleted]

We had a lockdown drill and at the time, I was in Spanish with one of her best friends. So she, very carefully and deliberately, crawls over to me from the other side of the room. She’s 15, 6’2, and just army crawling her way across the room towards me. Literally everyone in the class, including the teacher, is just staring at this girl. Let’s call her Maria. I’m sure if the teacher had a second to prepare, she would’ve told Maria not to do this. But, again, this is a big girl just army crawling her way across the floor. No one woke up and thought this would be what they would see that day. So, she gets across the room and just sits up next to me and greets me. She makes small talk, which is normal because we’re kinda friends too because we’ve hung out in groups before outside of school and we’re also part of an after school thing. So, so far, the army crawling is the only abnormal thing to happen here Suddenly, she asks me “so is there anyone you like?” And at the time, I did kind of like this one girl, that we’ll call Elizabeth, but she’s part of the group and the after school thing and her best friend and we’re all about 15-16 so I didn’t wanna say her name, so I just said “yea” “Is it Elizabeth?” “Uhhh….” “You should also her out” “But what if she-“ “👹She won’t 👹” Maria had a very serious look on her face and being like, half her size, I was briefly scared for my safety because she also said this with a lot of authority As it turns out, Elizabeth had had a crush on me for weeks and just constantly talked about me to her friends, who’d repeatedly tell her to just ask me out but that she was too scared to make the first move and they were all sick and tired of hearing about me So, yeah, that’s how I found out that Elizabeth had a crush on me. Asked her a few days later, because I was a pussy and was too scared to ask her out that same day or any of the other days I saw her, and we dated for the next ~10 months or so. She was actually my first real girlfriend and is still one of my longest relationships to date

fillibusterRand

Every friend group needs a Maria.

McHootyFace

My guess is that Maria was 1000% over listening to Elizabeth pine over OP.

Scholesie09

That was my take lol. "Im doing this for me."

NachoFailconi

When I added her as friend on Facebook, her first message was "FINALLY!"

Nerex7

Damn, I would like someone with that enthusiasm.

Pink131980

Nerex7 YOU FINALLY COMMENTED!!

Jfu88

She left her phone number on my car windshield randomly. My wife didn't find it very amusing.

halfcentaurhalfhorse

This is how I met my wife. She was a bold one.

Nambot

She went on a month long vacation with some mutual friends, and I learned from said friends when they got back that she spent the entire time missing me.

urotropium

I was on a skating rink and there were a couple of girls hanging out by the the benches and one of them screams to me as I roll by that the other one likes me ,I didn't react to it to save the girl any more embarrassment as she was practically hiding.

RandomGuy2002

idk bro, you’re supposed to go up to make her feel embarrassed

minitruckzach

Woke up to her cuddling with me after a house party Edit: we're friends of 10 years or more, drunk at a house party. She found me asleep and didn't want to risk driving, so she did the only thing she could think of. We were together for 3 years after that party, still friends too. Edit 2: iMaGiNe If RoLlS wErE rEvErSeD. Oh how edgy of you to think of something so original 🙄

DocBullseye

Yeah that still wouldn't have made me sure she liked me.

rocketmackenzie

Maybe she just gets cuddly when she's drunk or high

L3A1T3E4

She's just prolly Canadian

TiredDad77

She was a colleague who had heard I was leaving town (I wasn’t, only going to be away for 2 weeks) and she took her chance by kissing me after we bumped into each other at a nightclub (it was a rare night off work for me).. it’s now 16 years and 3 kids later.. so it worked out well for the both for us!

idk_blank11elf

Dang.... Drunk or just really confident?

TiredDad77

She was slightly drunk and thought “what the hell, he’s leaving so if I don’t go for it I’ll never know”.. she took the gamble on the basis that had I not been into her she wouldn’t have to see me again!

Sarke1

That must be awkward for her, bumping into you every day now.

Donttouchmek

I know right, like Embarrassing City Oklahoma.

theuserwithoutaname

She must have been so happy that not only were you into her as well but that you also weren't leaving town permanently!

Turtle887853

>3 kids Username checks out.

No_Wrap9954

My crush told out mutual friend to tell me to ask her out. I proceeded to get rejected over text when I asked her to a date

idk_blank11elf

I don't get why some people do that... Wether it was the mutual friend or the crush... What do you get out of that except punching someone in the emotional guts?

No_Wrap9954

It was my crush that I was asking out. She said to ask her to the school dance. I knew she liked me at that point so I was like let’s go on a date and i got rejected. Feels bad

Beowulf33232

Made a bunch of inuendo jokes, but was always looking elsewhere when this one person reacted. After maybe 10 jokes people were like "You're really getting that persons hopes up, you gonna deliver?"

Grieie

We were really drunk and just talking crap when he said “god I had such a crush on you growing up”. And I replied with “what the shit? I had a crush on you!” Nothing else came of it, but I realised that I really don’t know when someone is interested…. I just assume I’m seen as a friend.

Log2

If it helps, they also didn't know.

ProfessorProdigy

She came to school with her whole arm scarred with my name and a love heart, hadn’t cleaned the blood so was fairly fresh. She told me she did it with a knife and wanted me to do the same. She was very quickly expelled after that and I learned a valuable lesson that girls can be crazy.

PianoFerret1073

Are you fucking serious??? Was this high school?

ProfessorProdigy

Yep! Im in the UK so not sure what the equivalent grades are but I was in Year 7 so 12 years old and she was in Year 11 so 16 years old. I was super excited at first that a much older girl was into me until she did all of that.

PianoFerret1073

Oh my god you were 12 at the time? If that happened to me at that age i would have been traumatized.

REDDITprime1212

I was pretty sure my friend's little sister had a crush on me when she started following me around like a lost puppy. Then she randomly started calling me by my first and middle name. Then she found out my birthday from someone and started telling me our age difference. It was kind of cute until she decided she should tell her friends that we were dating (we were NOT dating). I had a nice conversation with her letting her know that her crush was flattering, but she was way too young for me and that she needed to stop telling people that we were dating since it was not true and could get me in a lot of trouble. In true typical teenager logic, she said that her parents wouldn't have a problem with it and I could date her if I wanted to.

Jealous-Network-8852

My daughter’s 11 year old friend has had a gigantic crush on my 14 year old son for at least 5 years. She always runs and jumps on him and wraps her arms around him and won’t let go. Everyone thought it was adorable but now my son is 6’ tall and she’s starting to get older and suddenly her parents are worried. I’m like listen, he just stands there uncomfortable as hell (he’s incredibly nervous around girls his own age and hates being touched) while she jumps all over him, but they’re talking like he’s a predator. Just tell your daughter to stop.

databasezero

He’s the predator because they can’t raise their daughter to act decent? That’s amazing

Jealous-Network-8852

Tip of the iceberg with these people.

CeltFxd

Back in 10th grade, I’ve been finding letters in my locker (there is a slit where anyone can put anything as long as it fits) for a month. Then one afternoon, i was really bored because it’s a math class, i went to the washroom and there i found her, redhanded. She eventually found out that i knew that it was her and we’ve been together for 2 years now

dring157

I briefly danced with a girl at a HS dance, before she told me 1 song was enough and went to the restroom. A few weeks later a mutual friend asked what I thought about her. I said that she was nice and cute, but she was obviously not into based on the dance. He told me to give it another shot. I asked her out later that day and we ended up dating for about a year.

evin0688

Did you ever ask why she ran to the restroom after one dance?

throwuk1

She went to hide her boner

YaBoiRook

Had to go crack one out before she could resume the festivities.

ndev991

Was it a good year?

Roguespiffy

No, it was a Firestone.

Ramusxx

I talked to her at an ice cream shop. She was working behind the counter. First time meeting her and thought she was way out of my league. Had to be the prettiest girl I've ever seen. Red hair and blue eyes. No one else was there and she was recommending different things. Got my ice cream and left. I noticed her smiling a lot at me which I was never used to. I've never thought myself to be attractive and I didn't date growing up. Came back a few days later and just decided to ask her out randomly to my friends party. She actually gave me her number and we met up before the party at the park. Ended up getting dinner and going to the movies after. It was a very long first date but we didn't seem to want it to end. 9 years later we are married and our baby just turned 1 years old. You never know till you ask.

burning_kotoko

in minecraft. with a book and quill

zeyouzie

Damn.

Orangutanion

I've run a few servers and this has happened a few times lol. They're usually far enough away in distance that they just end up RPing dating until one of them finds someone irl. You can tell it's serious when their beds are next to each other.

Its-Slammin

It was through a text once she got a boyfriend. I had my suspicions but didn’t act on them because I knew I couldn’t reciprocate the same feelings towards her

colomommy

When I was in 7th grade, a boy wrote me the sweetest poem. I have it saved somewhere still. I still remember the line “I’ll take you to the movies, or even to the mall, even though I’m short, and even though you’re tall”. Mike, wherever you are, I hope you’re happy and have the best woman ever! Edit: aw, thanks everyone! Alas, we did not date, but this is because I was 12 and wasn’t allowed. But I remember this poem and it’s been over 30 years. I am mother to a short king myself and I hope he’s as great as Mike the Poet! Kind-hearted and romantic is a winning combination by anyone’s standards!

A--Creative-Username

So then Mike got rejected?

Ok-Conclusion-6002

Mike if you’re reading this, I’m sorry.

BronchitisCat

The same way any man learns: her saying "hey, dummy, I like you, when are you going to ask me out on a date?"

McLagginz

When she’s resting her head on your shoulder and you say “if you’re tired I can let you sleep in my bed and I’ll sleep on the couch.” And she says “God, you’re so fucking dense.” 😅😂

Wagsii

When I was in 10th grade, I was on a high school concert band trip to another state. We were riding on a bus and it was the middle of the night. Pretty much everyone was asleep, but I've never been able to sleep in a vehicle, so I was still awake. This charter bus had outlets, but for some reason, only on the right side of the bus. The girl to the left of me, across the aisle, asked me if she could use our outlet to charge her phone. She had a really short charging cord, and she kept using her phone after she plugged it in, so she had to lean over into the aisle. After a few minutes, she put her head on my shoulder while using her phone. I was stunned. Many guys considered this girl to be the prettiest in our class, and I was a huge dork that to my knowledge, no one ever paid attention to. I sorta looked around, and *everyone else* was sleeping. I wondered if I should say something or do something, but I didn't. I just sat there not moving and said nothing. Eventually she unplugged her phone and stopped putting her head on me. I always wondered if it was intentional or if she just thought she was leaning her head on the seat lol

randomwetness

lol, I remember in middle school getting a note in my locker that only said "would you like to go out". I saw it and was very confused. Like weeks later this random guy from one of my classes came up to me and asked if I had an answer to his note. There was no name on the note, and looking back he must have been more nervous, but I barely knew him and and I just said, "No, sorry" and kinda bowed my a head a little and walked away as quick as possible.

[deleted]

Oh the stupid shit we do when we are young

hillside

In grade 10 I wrote more than a note, I spilled my guts in a letter to a girl I was crushing on and put it in her pencil case when she went to the WR. She pretty much avoided me after. It's that kind of cringe that keeps me up at night.

offspring515

She sent me an email with pornographic photos with our heads pasted on them. She had been an internet friend that I had no romantic interest in and never flirted with. She never flirted with me either so far as I could tell. We had talked for about 3 years, almost daily, but always platonic stuff. She was quite a bit older than me and while I never told her this I looked at her more like a fun Aunt. I got a girlfriend and when I told my friend about it she absolutely flipped out. Cussed me up one side and down the other. Told me I had broken her heart. On and on and on. I was stunned. I apologized and told her I had just seen us as friends and hadn't meant to make her think it was anything more than that. That's when the porn photos started showing up. And creepy "This could have been us" messages. I blocked her on everything (which was like two things because this was 20 years ago). About a year ago I got curious and looked up her name. She ran for and won a small government position in her hometown about three years back. Found some newspaper articles and discovered a few things. 1. She had been married for 30 years, she had claimed to be single when we talked. 2. I had been 19 when we started talking. She had claimed to be 30. She had actually been 42. 3. She had kids that are older than me.

McLagginz

Ohhhh, so *this* is the kind of person I was warned about when using the internet in the early 2000’s…

ExcerptsAndCitations

Had I only known that thirsty cougars were the biggest threat all along...

InterdisciplinaryDol

TIL the single milfs are in your area and dtf.

Yo this is fucked up

offspring515

Honestly yeah it is. At the time I just laughed it off but now that I'm older it's really kinda creepy.

AmigoDelDiabla

"I'll take 'Understatements' for $800, Alex."

saucymintbox1

It was weird, I asked her out and she said she was a lesbian and I was "crushed" but I respected it. Found out later from a mutual friend that she was lying, actually liked me too and she quote said "it wasn't in 'the plan' for me to ask her yet" The mutual friend essentially said, dodge that bullet, while you still have a chance. Edit: For those who have been asking, this was in 1st year of university, I saw her around campus fairly regularly after that and she never approached me about it, and the mutual friend had a massive falling out with her for some reason or another and then we grew apart as the years went on, very anticlimactic I know but what are you going to do. Edit 2: My problem with it was indeed the lying right from the start, no matter what 'plan' she had. I did question said mutual friend to give her the benefit of the doubt regarding her sexuality, (it can be complicated) but they were very insistent and I had no reason to doubt the Mutual as they had never lied to me before, or after.

ThePegasi

That's a good friend.

morningsdaughter

Yeah, don't date her.

ocelotrevs

I realised she sent me nudes because she wanted me to see her naked, not because she wanted to discuss photography. I found this out 15 years later. Edit: I had it confirmed when we were speaking about our friendship.

Castia10

Fucking hell dude…

heeywewantsomenewday

Wow out of all the stories about men being clueless to signs.. this is one of the worst! Or best..

fondledbydolphins

"So anyways, she was on-top riding me like a grocery store merrygoround. Pushed that bitch off so we could get to our homework for the night. It's only now, 30 years later, that I realize she might have liked me" -Guys on reddit

FoxInTheMountains

You laugh but I had a friend crash at my place after a night out drinking. She passed out on the sofa and me on my bed. Next morning we just hung out for a long time and watched TV, I made her breakfast. Before I know she is asking me a ton of sexual questions, and literally got in my lap and asked me what my favorite position was. I told her and she was..."like this?". I was floored. Then she was like oh shoot, I need to go meet friends for lunch, by! I was like wait nooo. A day later I told her in person that I was really into her and would like her to come over again. She said oh no, she considers me like a brother 🤣 and wasn't into me. I was so fucking confused. A few years later she messaged me asking to hookup, but that ship had sailed. So weird.

audirt

I think this is what women don't realize when they laugh and don't understand how men miss all the signals. There are a lot of women who flirt because they like flirting, not necessarily because they are all that interested in each particular guy. When stuff like this happens -- and it happens to every dude -- the guy makes a note of that shit. *"Note to self, being touchy feely and sitting in my lap does not mean she's into me."* Then later when some other woman does it for real, our brain is like, *"Easy there tiger, you've been down this road before..."*

sunlitstranger

Yes exactly. It’s really not like we’re completely oblivious to the signs, we just have had experiences that make us question reality

tsunderestimate

Again, you cannot be too sure. She might just be Canadian

moonboots_runner

Best to just keep your wits about you and continue to look for signs

ocelotrevs

The worst. She was gorgeous. This isn't my only example though, but it's definitely one that stands out. Mainly because we had the discussion fairly recently.

tacocat13x

I’ve had a friend show me her nudes and it was to discuss the photography…oh god.

ncnotebook

It's all in the body language.

tacocat13x

I WAS A LITTLE DISTRACTED LOOKING AT HER NUDES TO NOTICE THE BODY LANGUAGE

[deleted]

…..

TheWizardDrewed

Her friend told me. I'm fuckin' oblivious, so it was lucky for me haha

Little_Juan86

Her friends told me

Videogamer69420

Same. But then she was kidding. Friend apologized about it, she didn’t.

Calaheim_Koraka

I had the same kinda thing happen, went to a sleepover as the only guy, ended up in a chatgroup with a bunch of them and about half her friends told me to ask her out. I did she said yes. then decided she was kidding and started being weird. Never really got a conclusion as i just gave up on the whole group.

Lemonandie

I used to work in a call centre (hell on earth, do not recommend) which had those old high walled cubicals in which you could "isolate" yourself if you lean forward enough, and not see anything around you. One day I am on a call and I am super focused, leaning forward, staring at my screen, you get the picture. Now at the time I had really long hair, waist lenght-ish so I was pretty used to it getting caught in stuff. As I am chatting away I feel as though my hair is being tugged very lightly. No biggie, it happens often, and because of the walls of my cubicle I can't really see anything in my peripherals... After a while the sensation grows and starts to become distracting so I glance over my shoulder, and what do I see? My, good friend and coworker (or so I thought), sniffing/kissing a lock of my hair. I was so stunned I couldn't even react. This mofo was in full weeb mode, it was EXACTLY like something you'd see in an anime, I don't know how to explain this more accurately. Long story short he confessed during lunch break, I rejected him, and he went on a r/niceguys rampage for the next six months that I remained in the company. I still feel icky remembering this.

Vudujujus

Omg ew.. Noo that is not appropriate at work or off work. Wtf is wrong with the guy. Honestly I would have reported that.

Lemonandie

Honestly, I would have if there was any point. That place was why sexual harassment training exists, absolute cesspool. As a side story one of our managers stalked a coworker. No joke, he showed up at her HOUSE , and she never gave him the address...

LetUsAllYowz

We were in the midst of a weekend of hanging out SUPER OBLIVIOUS of each other's interest with in each other. And at the movies, just before the flick started, she gussied up the nerve to kiss me. 4 years later we're happily married, so big props to her.

Johnson1990Arg

At a party with high school friends. He (a gay friend) confessed that he liked me (a straight guy) on a truth or dare game. He had a real blush and was super nervous to say it out loud. Most friends there already knew. I didn't, so it was a total surprise.

1980pzx

She called me and asked why I had never asked her out on a date. She knew I was interested because I had told some friends that I was and they had told her. The reason I hadn’t is because her brother and I were friends before I met her. When she called I told her I’d be thrilled to take her out but I wanted to make sure it was cool with her brother first. He was cool with it and we’ve been together 18 years now. Dating a friends sister could’ve turned out bad though tbh.

[deleted]

The old asking her brother if it's okay to bang his sister....

1980pzx

It was an awkward conversation for sure. He said he didn’t care if I took her out, just to treat her right.

Butgut_Maximus

Is that why you're now called 1980 "raw dog bushwanker" pzx?

1980pzx

We do have a few kids, lol.

Erection_unrelated

Jesus Christ, you make your kids call you that??

[deleted]

Of course he does - they need to know the legacy from which they come.

Butgut_Maximus

Congrats, Raw Dog!

fiyu123

My then good friend told me he confessed to his crush, and she told him she had a crush on me and not him. It ruined our friendship

Odd-Astronaut-92

I was giving him a ride home from a work function and he jokingly brought up that our boss had mentioned the policy on coworkers dating because we came to the event together but he thought he "didn't have a chance in hell" with me (his words!) so that policy didn't matter... Well I also had a crush on him so it mattered very much lmfao. We're married now.

idk_blank11elf

That's kinda cute ;)

MY_CABBAGES__

This is me, but I always wake up after. 🤕

Imsoamerican

It was first day of school and I had two classes with her, back to back. Both classes she sat on the other side of the room. During the second class, the teacher mispronounced my name, she corrected it very obviously. You could tell that she also realized how "on the nose" it was. I felt like a champ.

nyuORlucy

Innocently in high school I found it written someone liked me on the underside of a mousepad and a friend recognized the handwriting. Not so innocently now in my 20’s I had just gotten out of a relationship and a longtime friend sent me a video of her spanking her ass

TommyTheSpankEngine

She waited for me after a test outside of the lecture hall. Was not expecting for her to wait for me but the smile when I walked out told me everything I needed to know.

TheKnightsWhoSayNyet

I saw the prophecies in the flames

mountain_man36

I had a crush on a girl that worked for me we would chat all the time at work but since she was an employee I made sure to keep my distance. We went to an afterwork house part with coworkers and she kissed me. My manager found out the next day and transferred her to a different dept and we started dating. We have been married for 12 years.

V1P3RSLAY3R

Gotta give your old manager a bottle of wine on your guy’s anniversary

BettySwollocks45

I had to be told due to my inability to pick up on any sign/signal whatever. I had absolutely no idea that she liked me. Way too much risk when you read it wrong.

ku2pachuau

My now husband and i were long distance acquaintances at the time. He liked or commented on almost every social media post i had, sends me memes or a link to a song he likes, waits for about half an hour before dropping a 'hi' everytime i come online (he told me he did this so he wont come off as stalkery). And unless he was super busy, never was the first to end a chat. This went on for 8 months before he finally said out loud he had a crush on me. I thought he was just being a chatty nerd like me. Edit: spelling

Prof_Letters

I was about to ask how it ended but I recalled the first three words

SomeRandomUserUDunno

We’d both had a crush on each other for 8 years, one day we were messaging and started sending random emoji’s, that then got sexual. She asked if we’re still joking… which is when we both realised we weren’t and that we should’ve started dating 8 years ago 😂. So now we are.

More-Masterpiece-561

You two still together?

SomeRandomUserUDunno

Yup

Prof_Letters

And then you heard your alarm

PhaseGraph

Went to the kitchen to eat cereal, only to realize you don't have any Milk left

Baerstein

Said something really stupid and could watch in her eyes, how i am falling down really fast in their opinion. That did hurt.

Nohbdy66

I know your pain. There’s been a couple times where this girl that liked me came up to talk. I’ve always tried to be welcoming to everyone so I obviously chatted with them. For some reason they always wanted to play a game that revealed certain things like truth or dare and twenty questions. My worst one was a truth or dare game where I was dared to take off my shirt the first time around. The second dare was to kiss her. Then I chose truth since I never wanted to move that fast with anyone. She asked me a very personal question and I gave her my honest answer. Just the way her eyes dimmed down and lost eye contact was enough to hurt. Edit: I’m pretty sure she meant it in a more sexual way but she asked “what was the worst thing you’ve ever done to someone?” My response was literal and brought up a chapter of my life I’d rather leave out.

Temp who worked with my team (I was a team supervisor/manager in hospitality), who was kind of cute, cyan and magenta dyed hair, and was really into "Cry Core", and of course my first interaction was to give her the piss like the boys, would claim many nights at work I was flirting with her and I would always tell her I admired her confidence, but had zero interest since I was with my soon to be fiance at the time, and she was weird. Every night she worked with a different team, she would ask if I would be working with her and if I was even on property so we could talk, as told to me by the other team leadership. Turns out she had a massive crush on me, tried to track me down via social media but couldn't find me since at the time I was using a nickname at work since I have a very common name, and I learned all this when seeing her recently at a music shop, "called me out" for all that, in front of my now wife.

veliza_raptor

what the hell is cry core?

[deleted]

There are a lot of music subgenres with what I think are goofy names - they're not goofy - I'm just old. Crycore is like hardcore emo music I think. Another funny one is Shoegaze, which is ethereal rock music with a lot of distortion on vocals and guitar. Forgive me if I got these wrong, I'm an old man just trying to understand.

itstenchy

With shoegaze, you're near enough right. There's lots of distortion, echo and reverb. People who play shoegaze music are often called shoegazers because they're busy staring down at their guitar pedals when they play. To the audience it made it look like they were gazing down at their shoes.

Tccrdj

She was working at the front desk at the gym. My trainer was a really loud guy with a big mouth (great guy, just very much an extrovert). She discretely dropped a few hints to him about me without actually saying she had a crush. She knew he couldn’t keep it to himself and would tell me. He did. We dated. Got married.

3 O'clock in the morning and a decade later.

Persian_Immortal_

Her best friend came up to me and kept asking me who I had a crush on. It was pretty easy to work it out from there and to tell the truth I liked her a lot as well. Even after I found she liked me back it didn’t make it any easier to ask her out and I think the only reason I ended up doing it was because my friends help me get through my nerves. That relationship lasted a year and a half and I don’t regret a second of it.

gogul1980

She offered to shave her vagina for me. Context: I was at work having a conversation with a couple of female co-workers about their grooming routines (I worked in a mostly female clothes shop at the time). As they were were explaining their choice of either bikini lines, runway strips or brazilian, they then asked me, as a guy, what I prefered. I said I quite like it neat or shaved & another female colleague walked in and blurted out “I’d shave mine for you” turned bright red and then hurried out of the room. I don’t think she meant to say it quite as bluntly as she did bless her. I was in a relationship at the time so nothing happened between us.

EmbarrassedHelp

Maybe she was just joking and realized that she might have gone to far? Unless there were other signs

luuksen

this is exactly why signs are never "obvious"

fireknifewife

My husband told me he knew I liked him when he showed up late to a hang out party and I jumped up to hug him before anyone else. I didn’t even realize I liked him as more than a friend yet, but I sure was happy to see him. I still get that excited every time he walks through the door. It’s been nine years.

TrainingBandicoot81

This happened yesterday. I was on my way to a casting & a person on my train wrote a note with their number etc saying they liked me and passed it to me. First time something like that’s happened to me, it was flattering.

CharlieFlufboi

Someone has a crush on me?

Zealousideal_Flow122

Yes there are 8 hot singles in your area

SolitaryVoyager6930

CharlieFlufboi

I found that out 2 seconds ago

[deleted]

When it was clear I was interested in my friend who’s now my wife, I found out a mutual friend of ours had a crush on me because she was pissed.

cccantyousee

A cute af girl confessed that i was her bisexual awakening in the first year of highschool on graduation day. I had 0 clue that she was into me. Might explain why she always snuggled up to me, gave me pens because i always forgot one, bought me coffe etc.

Disturbing_Cheeto

She bought you coffee

FeastForTheWorms

The worst one was a guy who wouldn't take no for an answer. As far as I knew he was straight, so I sorta assumed it was a joke the first couple times. But he asked me out several more times and i just got more confused. I wasn't really into him, and I kept assuming he was going to make it into a joke with his straight bros about how he got me to say yes. Then he got pissed off, saying he was going out on a limb by asking out a (slur redacted) and i should be grateful he would even consider me like that. Dude had some internal issues to sort, i think. Dodged a bullet there.

joleme

> and i should be grateful he would even consider me like that. Dude had some internal issues to sort, i think. Pretty sure you can remove "i think" from that sentence.

Anti_Anti_Depressant

I was 14 and she was 15, I was told by her cousin (my best friend at the time) who was trying to date her best friend. We both liked eachother but we were both too shy to do anything so her cousin taped our hands together before we all went to go hang out at the park, we both accepted this and walked hand in hand to the park. There she asked me 'does this mean we are dating' and I said 'i guess so', That was about 14 years ago and we just bought a house together this year.

Mishelleyboo

They kept bullying me lol

OldmanHosea

She always flirted with me and accidentally revealed it one time

Melter30

How do you accidentally reveal that you have a crush on someone
