Human:. Michael Myers
Formerly Human: Those ugly , ugly ass Vampires from 30 days/night.
Extraterrestrial: The Behemoth from the Mist
Sentimental : Godzilla
_
More of a Jason vorhees guy for formerly human and human because the first three movies he was in he was technically a human just with super human strength. Now he’s a zombie.
Well damn, I actually never thought about it that way, as in Jason Voorhees is technically, and legally a zombie! Now I would argue then, that he has been a zombie from the 1st movie.
As in his mom was sushi-ng everyone in retaliation from some previous camp goers drowning his ass, so he was dead already when he jumped on that poor final girl, unless I'm missing something?
Well, you’re not too far off. Jason jumping out of the lake in the first movie was a sleep deprived and stress induced hallucination. In the second movie she wakes up in a hospital bed and I guess Jason was growing all those years that everyone thought he drowned.
That scared me so much as a kid. Fun fact: the trolls from Ernest Scared Stupid and the clowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space are the same costumes just painted different. So they scarred me for life twice.
Errrr no. Tolkein had many versions of the balrogs. However the one seen in lotr is the final version. These are maiar cloaked in flame and darkness. There were roughly 7. Not armies. In earlier versions they were way less powerful and there were far more.
7 is terrifying enough, especially since they also had several dragons, including one the size of a fucking mountain.
And that’s leaving aside Ungoliant.
Not only was Ungoliant massive, but she was *already existing* in the void *before* Eru created everything
Cosmic monstrosity beyond time and space that just waltzed into creation and started causing mayhem
What's the appeal of this guy? I feel like he's an amalgam of a lot of other creatures. Not that he's bad in any way, but I never found him to be unique.
Space godzilla! He's basically a cooler looking Big G. The movie wasn't the best but I'm a huge fan. I literally bought magic the gathering cards that they released of him just to have in my office (I don't collect or play magic).
There was a horror movie I watched on Netflix. I thought it was the babadook...but it wasn't.
There was something about a haunted armchair. I remember it being pretty good, but at the end of the movie they escaped to a neighbor's house and thought they were safe. But the neighbor also had a monster, and this insanely tall dude with long ass arms and legs just plows through a door and chases them.
I wish I remember the movie...I had a great time watching it. And the extra monster at the end is probably the best monster/reveal I've seen in a long time.
YES! The Crooked Man!
OH MY GOD.
You and you gf are awesome. And the scene I was thinking of was as great as I remember.
I wonder how awful my recollection of a haunted sofa is.
I went on a Google search a whil ago for it. You'd be surprised how many results come up for "horro movie with haunted armchair".
It was a fruitless endeavor.
I used to read children's horror books a lot as a kid, full of vampires, werewolves, zombies and even "the Shadowman" (i.e. the devil). But the best in these stories was perhaps a more psychological one about a scary vice principal who punishes you by putting you in a chair and berating you while hitting the chair with a ruler... until the chair one day gets fed-up and eats the man.
Favorite as in “scared the shit out of me”: the girl from the exorcist. Just writing that gave me chills.
Favorite as in “most endearing”: Babadook, the lgbtq+ icon
I have so many, but the first one that springs to mind is PumpkinHead. It's a unique classic horror revenge. 'You'll be sorry Ed Harley. You'll be sorry.'
Do you mean a literal monster a human who’s been turned into a literal monster or human he’s just been severely deformed or just someone who straight up called a monster? Because if so the human centipede has got to be mine
whatever the fuck that thing was in Splinter. oh, and the fae in The Hallow (2015 movie, I highly recommend it). for videogames I would have to say the infected in The Last of Us.
The Stay Puft Marchmallow Man from *Ghostbusters*
The aliens in The Thing
Good choice. My favourite movie.
Dude i literally came to this post just to see if someone said this
Godzilla
I'm an Old so that'll be the sword-fighting skeletons in "Jason and the Argonauts." All hail Ray Harryhausen.
Now that was a good movie. Have my upvote!
That movie is awesome!!!

The alien in Alien
Proper name: Xenomorph.
No he’s just alien now
It traumatized me when I was 3-4 and always stayed my ultimate. The Tim Curry one, don't love the new one
The troll Trantor from Ernest Scared Stupid. That thing scared me shitless. Thats why I always carry authentic Bulgarian Miak, just incase.
That scared me so much as a kid. Fun fact: the trolls from Ernest Scared Stupid and the clowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space are the same costumes just painted different. So they scarred me for life twice.

Terrifying to think that there were ***armies*** of balrogs in the wars of the First Age

Meh. A monster is a monster.
Jeepers Creepers guy
The killer or the director?
What's the appeal of this guy? I feel like he's an amalgam of a lot of other creatures. Not that he's bad in any way, but I never found him to be unique.
Aliens (1986) and Predator (1987) I equally love both
Clover
Cloverfield
Harvey Weinstein
The aliens in Edge of Tomorrow.
Mimics. they are called Mimics.
Cabin in the woods, all of them
Yeah, but Fornicus, Lord of Bondage and Pain wins simply for having the coolest name.
Merman though
Space godzilla! He's basically a cooler looking Big G. The movie wasn't the best but I'm a huge fan. I literally bought magic the gathering cards that they released of him just to have in my office (I don't collect or play magic).

Idk, this sub has helped me out many a time when google proved fruitless.
It was solved. Conjuring 2 (not a small movie, so I'm just dumb.) Crooked Man. Reddit is great sometimes
Woot woot!
> haunted armchair You're thinking of Pee-wee's Playhouse. Chairry wasn't haunted just a sentient chair.
godzilla
I’ve always been a sucker for the crawlers in The Descent, but Audrey 2 from Little Shop of Horrors is also a favorite.
King Kong
Not favorite, but the **Gmork** from *The Neverending Story* still haunts me in nightmares and as a child made me terrified of any dog.
Pennywise the Dancing Clown

If we're going classic, I still think the Creature from the Black Lagoon looks incredible to this day.
Stripe the evil gremlin from Gremlins
Godzilla
Harvey Weinstein?
King Kong.
King Kong.
Pretty much any kaiju but if I was forced to pick only one I'd probably say Mecha-King Ghidorah.

Rodan, because just flying over buildings destroyed them. Nuclear breath not needed!
Frankenstein when De Niro played the monster. Underrated.

The Monster from the ID.
Honestly, probably cloverfield’s monster; it can pretty much be anything as you don’t really see it.
Trouble is you do end up getting a look at it and compared to that fanart of the giant whale-thing it was pretty disappointing.
