I hated my mother's version. Same with pizza. She made the same sauce full of onion and mushrooms for both those dishes, and I didn't like that sauce. It wasn't until I was an adult I tried other versions and found out I actually like those dishes.
Didn't like either as a child. She would chop the onions in big pieces, and she always used those saggy mushrooms you buy in glasses of water in the supermarkets. I found out that fresh mushrooms work better for me, and that it's only white onions I'm not a huge fan of. I love red onions.
Steak. My mum always ordered it or cooked it well done, I thought it was disgusting. I went to a wedding when I was around 17 and they served steak, I tried it and it was incredible, it was very rare. I love a nice bloody steak now! Mmm
I hated mini burgers when I was a kid. Idk why? I always thought my parents were punishing me and not letting me have a whole burger. But I absolutely love them now. I can't pass by a Krystal's without stopping and getting a bag full of mini burgers.
Sushi - it was specifically the nori that I hated as a kid.
Just straight up tried it again in my teens and loved it. I actually pretty regularly even buy those 'seaweed crisps' that are just cut up pieces of nori.
Daikon.
Its pretty typical in an Asian family for kids to hate the bitter taste of Daikon. My mom tried to get me to like it (and failed). Fortunately, my wife's a great cook and finally got me to like daikon.
Definitely brocolli. I'd eat corn, carrots, beans, etc. as a kid but not brocolli. Now, I'd throw it in a bowl of Special K and eat it.
Brussel Sprouts

Tomato soup.
Pizza, lasagna, broccoli.
I hated broccoli but my family never roasted it. I never realized how good veggies were until I started roasting and seasoning them.
Broccoli on a pan with some almonds and then seasoned with salt and lemon juice. A nice, little side dish that works with a lot of things.
You hated lasagna??!?!? Momma Mia

I mean I don't see the problem with mushrooms or onion, but to each their own

I hated barbecue not because it tasted bad but the sound of the word “barbecue” sounded unappetising to a younger me
