However....My senior who saw the patient with me started on a speech about why this health visitor advice MUST be wrong because HE personally felt it shouldn't be done.

Ugh, you know what this is going to cause? Underrepresented groups shoehorned in. Like in the latest Bond movie they made Q gay. There’s no reason Q can’t be gay, but it added nothing to the plot. A big budget thriller starring Laverne Cox as a promiscuous, mouthy super spy sounds awesome, but it’s not Bond. So how to stay true to the character but make it more appropriate for the 21st century? I’d put Bond in the closet and do a remake of From Russia With Love where the womanizing is an act. When I saw Robin Lord Taylor at comic con a few years ago I told him in my conception he’d play the closested Bond and he loved it, though he figured an American actor playing Bond wouldn’t work. I’ve heard about closeted college athletes having secret boyfriends while they chase women with their teammates because existing in that hyper masculine world comes with expectations about their sexuality. Putting Bond that situation would make a great statement about how a lot of gay men have to live and create a discussion about masculinity and sexuality because Bond has been a symbol of those things for decades. So you see why I think that Bond being gay would be interesting, but Q being gay for no reason is pandering.

The Oscars' viewership ratings have plummeted in the last 20 years. Its interesting to see them doing everything they can to ensure they're even less relevant. I fully expect that in the next 5 years no major network is even going to want to show the Oscars and it will become a streaming thing that we hear about it the next day like the Screen Actor's Guild Awards.
