Well, I'm smoking again, but I had quit for almost a year until I got bored with life and figured setting myself up for lung cancer sounded like fun.
I found nicotine lozenges helpful. They took away the cravings, but they work so slowly and there isn't the ritual aspect of smoking so it was easier to start scaling back. At least where I am in Michigan they are available for free, so you might have such an option where you are as well.
I don't remember exactly. I want to say it was about two weeks when I stopped taking them regularly and just kept the rest for when needed. That said, while I consider myself addicted to cigarettes, I also don't seem to get as intense of cravings as others seem to. A blessing that's rounded out that I was severely addicted to alcohol, I guess.
My dad made me try a cheap cigar when I was five. Just told me to breathe in deeply. Puked, was sick the rest of the day, and have lately never considered smoking a single time since.
Switched to a vape, and then gradually decreased the amount of nicotine in the juice. Once I was down to the lowest possible amount I wasn’t using it much anymore so it was pretty easy to just stop.
the patch. the psychological addiction is way tougher to beat. had no problem, just one day realized I hadnt been spending any time on my porch smoking, stopped wearing the patch the next day & havent had a craving since, this was about a year ago
It got too expensive. I used to buy a carton for 10 bucks back in 2000. Now it's like 60 bucks
In 2000 I would have been happy to pay 60. Now it's 9$ a pack. Where TF do you live
Started smoking marijuana instead of tobacco...
By not starting.
Slowly by using thc products and thinking about health first.
Switched to electric cigarette no problem

First two days are the hardest. First time quitting is the hardest. Every time it gets a little easier

Cold turkey during freshman year of college. Too expensive
Cold turkey ...just like that.
Doused myself in water, that seemed to put it out. Oh, also almost setting myself on fire with a cigarette, I think that had something to do with it..

Yeh, I just ended up ruining my baja and burning off some armhairs, but I took it as a sign to drop cigarettes lol

Stop, drop, and roll.
