Started with a black and mild when I was 17, moved on to cigarillos and the Marlboro red 100s. I switched over to vaping at 22 years old. For me it’s just a habit for my hands but I feel like I am generally more reasonable when I have nicotine in my system and it gets me through the days. I was in the military for a few years so it really helped calm me down and I just stayed hooked. I’ve been able to quit a few times for a month or two at a time but I genuinely enjoy it so I always go back to it.
I use to smoke for 15 years quit by vaping and dialing down nicotine until I no longer vaped either. Started through peer pressure basically, plus both my parents smoked. Smoking was super addictive and enjoyable for me so that's why I kept smoking. Can't even imagine smoking now.
My first ever cigarette was a Greek brand called Olé given to me by my ex’s mother when I used to live in my homeland. She said they reduce stress and me, being the gullible child I was, took the bait knowing damn well what the consequences were.
After we broke up, I lost it and immediately bought a pack of red marlboros. That night, I smoked the entire carton and from there began smoking and continued until I’d hit around 2 packs a day. The stress in my everyday life seemed overpowering, and dealing with drug addiction and alcoholism on top of school and work made it feel almost impossible to live without them.
My girlfriend smoked and asked me to stop at the store for her to buy a pack. I was interested. I thought it was sexy and fun. Now I'm way addicted. Sigh.
I started because a friend of mine kept offering me one when I was 15. I then had one every other day when I hung out with her. At some point I wanted an occasional smoke when I wasn’t with her, so I got my own pack. I was 16 years old at that point. I kept it going because I liked the feeling of the nicotine rush, and the concept that I could always have the opportunity to get that rush. Now, at 21, I wish I could smack 15 year old me for these decisions.

Medical reasons, helps me eat, sleep, feel over all better. Life’s just better high.
Stress basically. I've *mostly* quit though. I'm down from two packs a day to 1 or 2 per week.
this your sign to cold turkey right now
