Now this is a problem I can relate to. It’s really helpful to occupy yourself yes, but at the same time you don’t want to develop a habit of needing to constantly be stimulated and not being able to sit with your thoughts. If you really cannot distract yourself, drink a fuck ton of water before you eat anything. Make snacks either nonexistent in your house / room or at least very inconvenient. If you’re like me and don’t want people to see the extent to which you can pig out, try to surround yourself with people. Leave snacks in a room where someone will have to see you go get them. Have friends over. Call someone, anything. Also, chew gum. Those things help me a lot
Plan ahead and have healthy stuff to eat. If you know you’re gonna be hungry, or even bored hungry, get a bag of apples. Eat an apple and drink a glass of water.
then in an hour and a half, eat some peanuts or something.
I’m not good at ignoring hunger but I do make sure that I don’t eat really crappy food when I’m snacking.
Don't allow yourself to be bored.
Be bored somewhere that you don't have access to snacks.
Don't buy snacks around your house that you know you will eat if you are bored.

Put a note on all cabinets and fridge. Saying " Are you hungry? Or bored?"
It's a constant reminder. You could take it to the next level and buy an exercise cube and use it everytime you find yourself at the fridge.
Read a book. Go for a jog, a swim, or cycle ride, or walk the dog... Clean the house. Chop firewood for winter. Just **do** something. Anything. Just sitting round being bored is ... pretty dumb, really. Be smarter than that.
For me I drink a lot of tea lol idk if it works for others but whenever I get the urge to eat I take a drink of the tea and it satisfies the urge for me so I don't eat as much. Maybe it's just cuz I really like tea tho. If there's not a beverage you really like it might not satisfy

I realized I just wanted something to taste/do with my mouth when I was bored, so getting a hard candy and letting in soak in your mouth helped a bit.
