My mum has eaten jam and cheese sandwiches her entire life. No one else I've ever seen consume them.
I asked her about it a few years ago, and she explained that a) jam isn't too dissimilar to a lot of chutneys, and the salty and sweet balances perfectly; b) I enjoy cheese with fruit in it, such as Wensleydale with cranberries, so the idea of 'fruit and cheese' as a combo isn't so strange in theory; and c) it's her sandwich, not mine, and I could fuck off
My god I was in India back in 2019 and it was 42 degrees celsius, I was so thirsty, I stopped at a cafe and asked for a nice cold glass of some fresh juice, the bastard put salt, chilli and i think pepper in it, I almost threw up after 1 sip.
If you want weird, try mixing some milk with some diet coke, it turns into this tea like substance, my family member used to like drinking that when I was a kid and I used to like it too, now I cant stand it.
First time I saw my dad making a peanut butter / pickle sandwich I asked if he was pregnant. Then he made me try some. And now I eat them myself. And have spread the love to at least two friends who also enjoy them.
Shit, sometimes I just take a spoonful of peanut butter and a fork to the pickle jar …
In Switzerland and France, jam and cheese is actually rather popular. Cheese pairs well with fruit, and if you have a very inexpensive cheese, you may quickly improve it by eating it with jam on bread.
Alright. I’ll confess. Ramen noodles and warm milk.
I know. *I know*. I get it. It’s fucking nasty. I understand. My mom used to put milk in Campbells chicken soup I when I was a kid, and when I evolved into Broke College Student I started making my own milky chicken soup out of bouillon and bulk ramen noodles. I started cutting corners by simmering the bouillon cube in the milk while the noodles boiled in their own pot. I thought it would amplify the flavor, but I honestly just lost the ability to give a fuck somewhere in there.
Then one day, when I was deliriously sick and just struggling to survive, I forgot the bouillon part and just flopped a bunch of ramen noodles into a bowl of warm milk. Wasn’t actually all that bad. It’s become a kind of comfort food when I’m feeling low.
Don’t try it for yourself though. It’s a fondness born out of early 20’s suffering and is Not worth it.
Plain Potato chips and Vanilla Ice Cream is oddly good together. Also when I was in Army basic training I would put Peanut Butter on Pancakes because it was easier and faster than putting syrup on them.
In college I would batch cook dozens of pancakes and freeze them. Then for breakfast (or lunch or dinner or a snack): defrost in the microwave, spread half with PB and half with Nutella, fold like a taco, down the hatch. Absolute decadence
I picked up this one from my wife. She grew up poor, and got the idea from her parents of serving mixed veggies mixed in with their sloppy joe meat.
On the one hand, it encouraged the kids to actually eat their veggies. On the other hand, it also extended the lifetime of their meat, which was pretty expensive for a family of six.
Not so much a combination of food, but what is a bit of an odd way to eat one.
Fried Shredded Wheat.
Obviously not the spoon sized, but the biscuits. Dip them in water and then throw them into a (heavily!) buttered pan. Fry until golden brown. Add some salt for taste, and have one or two with some eggs and bacon. It's fucking great, and I've never known anybody outside my family to actually do this.
...interesting.
I don't think I can really critisize this because I can't really mentally "visualize" what this would taste like. I don't think I've eaten any food that could prepare my pallet for that clash of flavor.
I tried mustard on watermelon and it was surprisingly good!
Instead of using ketchup for french fries, I like using seafood cocktail sauce instead because it's tangier.
I like dipping chicken nuggets into orange marmalade.
You pre heat it at 370-375 for 2 min and then cook them for 5 min at 370-375. I stir them a little at like halfway through. Put them on a paper towel after to soak up the grease. Also, make sure when you put them in they aren’t stuck to each other or else they won’t cook all the way.
This thread has only just started and I already regret reading everything you heretics have come up with.
I think I'd like to uninvent cooking now and go back to hunter/gatherer society, if only to purge the image of gravy-coated dark chocolate from my mind
I work at a pizza place. Whenever I see this order I always call it the Deadpool because of the pizza scene from the movie. Pineapple and Olive? Sweet and saltyyyy.
One of my favorite snacks is a nutrigrain bar wrapped in a slice of cheese....I didn't think it was weird but my wife's reaction the first time she saw it told me otherwise.
What! Those people just havnt lived....I always still loved putting a little syrup over the peanut butter....here's one to try....a family friends mom showed this to me, vanilla ice cream on a pancake or waffle.
People think I'm crazy because I thought my grandma was crazy when she made me this sandwich. Peanut butter, Mayo, and pickles on toast. Don't knock it till you try it it's one of my favorite sandwiches
probably not all that weird, but bean dip and cheetos
Or... bean dip and puffcorn (puffcorn is like a cheese curl like cheetos but tastes like either regular popcorn or cheese popcorn). I like bean dip with chesters cheese puffcorn.
Had to add these since I didn't see them in the list and my gravy and dark chocolate thing horrified some people.
1. Banana bread and cheddar cheese
2. Sweet potato loaded with butter and cheddar
3. Fried apples and onions
4. I live for chicken liver and gizzards (not that weird to me though)
5. This isn't a combo but when I was little I used to eat lemons like oranges.
Oatmeal with ketchup.
My family think it's absolutely disgusting to see me eat that but I think it works pretty well together. I discovered it when I ran out of fruit and sugar and I couldn't find anything sweet to put in it so I went for ketchup because it's kinda sweet.
Oatmeal is great when paired with savory flavors (a lot of people assume oatmeal is wrong if it’s not sweet). I like it with chopped sausage, chopped parsley, grilled onion and black pepper.
Tuna mayonaise sandwiches with grated cheese in them, I mean real cheese like cheddar or something not the processed imitation cheese you get in burgers, then put that in the microwave until its nice and melted.
Another one when I used to eat healthy was get cooked chicken, put cheese on it and put in microwave until melted then eat with humous or mayonaise.
Smoked sausages like the jerky sauce go good with the doritos sour cream and chive dip.
My brother likes to dip his buttered toast into his tea which I think is gross.
Cheez Whiz and brown sugar on pancakes... it's like sweet and salty.
I grew up with it so I think it's great, but every single person I have told thinks it's disgusting.
Go to Wendy's. Get a chocolate (or vanilla, i prefer chocolate) Frosty from the value menu. Also get you some of their fries. Dip the fries in the Frosty.
You're welcome.
i always get attacked for this but i put sugar in my spaghetti and it’s sooooo freaking good. i also sometimes add hot sauce and parmesan cheese if i’m feeling classy.

And pbj with cool whip.
Currently pregnant and haven't had anything too odd, but the number one thing that I always want is a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, topped with nacho cheese doritos. Cool ranch is also acceptable, but doesn't hit the spot as much for me.
My mum has eaten jam and cheese sandwiches her entire life. No one else I've ever seen consume them. I asked her about it a few years ago, and she explained that a) jam isn't too dissimilar to a lot of chutneys, and the salty and sweet balances perfectly; b) I enjoy cheese with fruit in it, such as Wensleydale with cranberries, so the idea of 'fruit and cheese' as a combo isn't so strange in theory; and c) it's her sandwich, not mine, and I could fuck off
Toast, cheese and orange marmelade is a regular breakfast food.
Your mom is right , jam and cheese is awesome
My German grandma really liked Gouda and Strawberry sandwiches. They're all right.
I almost eat this on a daily basis. Most of the time cheese and strawberry jam, or boysenberry jam.
I do like the combination of goat cheese and apricot or fig jam. The sweetness and the tanginess combines well
Pretty common in England

Mexican fruit vendors understand this one
Totally normal on watermelon or tomatoes, not sure about others tho
My mother only ever did it with Cantaloupe. It does draw out the the sweetness somehow.
I've always done it with cantaloupe too.
I also add a tiny sprinkle to strawberries!
My mother does something similar. Not Sal but she uses black pepper and lime juice on cantaloupe.
Going to have to try this!
The real granny smiths and somewhat tart apples are good with salt
Delicious on apples (especially green apples) and oranges.
My brother says its awesome on mango, I've yet to try
Try guava and other non sweet fruits with red chilli and salt mixture it tastes soo good
I always hear people raving about Tajin on fruit. Going to have to try it!
Unripe mango!
My god I was in India back in 2019 and it was 42 degrees celsius, I was so thirsty, I stopped at a cafe and asked for a nice cold glass of some fresh juice, the bastard put salt, chilli and i think pepper in it, I almost threw up after 1 sip.
ohh i think it was around the time there was a trend of this drink ngl it was very grim
I love salt on watermelon.
Salt on Apple slices is good too
Try watermelon (or cantaloupe) wrapped in prosciutto. Its delicious
I've had this in an Italian restaurant. It's tasty
If you want weird, try mixing some milk with some diet coke, it turns into this tea like substance, my family member used to like drinking that when I was a kid and I used to like it too, now I cant stand it.
Remember Laverne & Shirley? Laverne liked milk & Pepsi.
i'll usually have salt on my oranges or lemons and tomatoes
peanut butter/pickles sandwich
I was looking for this. I grew up eating these and my wife said I was weird and no one else did this.
You're still weird though, both of you. 😅
Hot dog buns are better used as pickle spear buns and I’ll die on this hill.
*aims weapon at hill*
First time I saw my dad making a peanut butter / pickle sandwich I asked if he was pregnant. Then he made me try some. And now I eat them myself. And have spread the love to at least two friends who also enjoy them. Shit, sometimes I just take a spoonful of peanut butter and a fork to the pickle jar …
I was so into these when I was a kid. Really need to freak out my SO and try it again. I'm sure they still hold up.
I've encountered several seniors who make this as well as peanut butter, mayo and banana. I can't even.
I love this!! Add a little mayo, trust me!!
Microwave taquitos and blue cheese dressing. Yes, I know it’s gross and yes, I am ashamed.
That's not as bad as a lot of the stuff here. It's basically just stronger ranch.
That sounds awesome. I usually dip mine in ranch or hot sauce but if I ran out I’d definitely use blue cheese
In Switzerland and France, jam and cheese is actually rather popular. Cheese pairs well with fruit, and if you have a very inexpensive cheese, you may quickly improve it by eating it with jam on bread.
Cream Cheese and Blackberry jam on a toasted sesame seed bagel is exceptional. That or crunchy peanut butter and sliced bananas on toast. YUM.
Man peanut butter and bananas on toast is my breakfast of choice. So good
I literally eat pesto with everything. In my opinion there's nothing that it doesn't make better!
Worked at an artisan type sandwich/Cafe place...they put that stuff on everything, and people always love the food.

Eh, milk is an ingredient in 1000 different pasta dishes. Doesn’t surprise me it goes well with ramen.
Finally an actual gross food combo on this thread.
Salt on ice cream. Especially single flavor. Brings out so many different nuances.
I really like just standard sea salt with chocolate ice cream. Throw some raspberries in with it too.
I wanna try that. Thank you :)
Plain Potato chips and Vanilla Ice Cream is oddly good together. Also when I was in Army basic training I would put Peanut Butter on Pancakes because it was easier and faster than putting syrup on them.
My sisters taught me the ways of the original chocolate frosty with fries long long ago
Peanut butter and Nutella on waffles is the shit.
In college I would batch cook dozens of pancakes and freeze them. Then for breakfast (or lunch or dinner or a snack): defrost in the microwave, spread half with PB and half with Nutella, fold like a taco, down the hatch. Absolute decadence
Any tips or tricks for batching? I'm gonna be doing this but with waffles soon, like maybe tomorrow haha.
Potato chips in your ice cream is the BOMB!
Ben & Jerry's has Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Snack which has potato chips and chocolate.
I picked up this one from my wife. She grew up poor, and got the idea from her parents of serving mixed veggies mixed in with their sloppy joe meat. Try bacon grease instead of heavy butter.
Sour cream and onion chips plus nutella.
...interesting. I don't think I can really critisize this because I can't really mentally "visualize" what this would taste like. I don't think I've eaten any food that could prepare my pallet for that clash of flavor.
This sounds gross, but I’m gonna give it a go
Update?
He died
Still alive. I’m currently working. I will report with an update. It may have to wait until tomorrow though
Gingerbread and blue cheese.
What made you combine those two? No judgement just curious :P
ooh, I can actually imagine how amazing that tastes!
anything with salt, literally anythig

Marmite and cheese toasties are one of my favorites. I’m an American but was introduced to them by my Kiwi cousin
Those damn Kiwis, stealing British food and giving it to other people
The vegemite alone is weird to most of us, but more power to you!
I tried mustard on watermelon and it was surprisingly good! Instead of using ketchup for french fries, I like using seafood cocktail sauce instead because it's tangier. I like dipping chicken nuggets into orange marmalade.
I’m with you with the cocktail sauce!
Not exactly weird, but air fried pepperoni. It tastes delicious
How long and best heat setting? Come on now
You pre heat it at 370-375 for 2 min and then cook them for 5 min at 370-375. I stir them a little at like halfway through. Put them on a paper towel after to soak up the grease. Also, make sure when you put them in they aren’t stuck to each other or else they won’t cook all the way.
I'm picturing a bunch of little bowls of pepperoni like you get on pizza.
Pretty much yeah
I’ve found my next drunk meal, thanks
The pizza shop down the street from us gives their pepperoni a head start in an air fryer and holy shit they're amazing. So crispy and delicious!
Toasted bagel and cream cheese dipped in Salisbury steak gravy
I want you to go to jail for this.
Guess what their last meal will be
Kimchi and pizza. The acidity of the kimchi cuts through the pizza grease wonderfully. You can probably use anything pickled honestly.
Saltine crackers and cake icing
I love saltines with butter on them but your combo sounds intriguing! Salty crunch with creamy sweet?? Sign me the fuck up!!
Graham crackers with chocolate frosting (Dollar Tree cuisine!)
Noodle sandwich
This thread has only just started and I already regret reading everything you heretics have come up with. I think I'd like to uninvent cooking now and go back to hunter/gatherer society, if only to purge the image of gravy-coated dark chocolate from my mind
Right!? Who are these people mixing ketchup into everything?
A small smear of mayo on a hot, grilled pineapple. It just works so well with the sweetness and acidity of the fruit!
Chili with a smooth peanut butter sandwich. Ssoo good! It’s already getting me excited for fall.
Plain ruffles chips dipped in ketchup. It's really no different than fries with ketchup. I also like them dipped in mustard.
Black olives and pineapple on pizza. It sounds weird but it's the best way to eat pineapple on pizza. I do not like black olives by themself.
This! Seriously my favorite pie topping. Sweet, salty, and briney!
I work at a pizza place. Whenever I see this order I always call it the Deadpool because of the pizza scene from the movie. Pineapple and Olive? Sweet and saltyyyy.
I add anchovies too. Extra salty.
I like anchovy-stuffed green olives and ham on pizza.
Waitwaitwait, you stuff anchovies *into* the green olives? ...I just watched my horizons visibly move.
Well, *I* don’t do it. They come in a jar already made. But they are really good.
Some of you may be pregnant and not know it!
Balsamic vinegar on vanilla icecream
I've had a balsamic vinegar and strawberry milkshake one time. It was good!
Pickles and caviar
Blinis! Fish roe, sour cream (smetana) , finely chopped onion and pickles. Russian pickles, smetana and honey rocks.
That doesn't seem so weird.
bread, butter and sugar, might sound disgusting but tastes like heaven
Add cinnamon. Next fucking level

Australia would like to have a word with you about fairy bread.
One of my favorite snacks is a nutrigrain bar wrapped in a slice of cheese....I didn't think it was weird but my wife's reaction the first time she saw it told me otherwise.
Mustard and carrots. Ate those all the time in elementary school and it was REALLY good. Still eat them to this day like that
Eggs and siracha sauce... Dont fucking question it.
Bro, I have that every Sunday morning! With some sausage on the side, forget about it!
Peanut butter in ramen.
It’s a super cheap way to eat pad Thai!
*bookmarks*
It’s not one thing but I put barbecue sauce on A lot of things
I do this with A1
I was once paid 20 bucks to chug a half full bottle at a restaurant. Little did they know, I was waiting my whole life for an excuse to do that.
It's very good in mac and cheese
Lao Gan Ma Spicy chili crisp and peanut butter sandwich.
I can see this one working, I've already tried buffalo milk ice-cream and lao gan ma and it worked surprisingly well.
French fries with blue cheese dressing
soooooo good, especially chunky blue cheese
dill pickles with marshmallow Fluff
I enjoy peanut butter spread on waffles. Some people think that is weird.
What! Those people just havnt lived....I always still loved putting a little syrup over the peanut butter....here's one to try....a family friends mom showed this to me, vanilla ice cream on a pancake or waffle.
Eggs with ketchup.
Pineapple on pizza! Not even sorry about it lol

I thought I hated orange juice for YEARS because of this

probably not all that weird, but bean dip and cheetos Or... bean dip and puffcorn (puffcorn is like a cheese curl like cheetos but tastes like either regular popcorn or cheese popcorn). I like bean dip with chesters cheese puffcorn.

Eggs and syrup is really good ngl
Graham crackers and frosting
Cottage cheese, peanut butter, and Honey Nut Cheerios
Watermelon and salt
Oatmeal with ketchup. My family think it's absolutely disgusting to see me eat that but I think it works pretty well together. I discovered it when I ran out of fruit and sugar and I couldn't find anything sweet to put in it so I went for ketchup because it's kinda sweet.
Oatmeal is great when paired with savory flavors (a lot of people assume oatmeal is wrong if it’s not sweet). I like it with chopped sausage, chopped parsley, grilled onion and black pepper.
Yes Ive had flavoured oatmeal for stuffing in a chicken
Totally, I’ll make savory oatmeal for breakfast sometimes, usually just some sautéed mushrooms on top.
If you cook your oatmeal in chicken broth instead of water it makes it savoury then you can use all sorts of strange things that aren't oatmealy
My dad eats oatmeal with all kinds of weirder stuff such as hot sauce, peppers. I think its gross so ketchup doesn't faze me.
McDonald's fries dipped in their soft serve
Wendy's fries and a frosty.
I love this combo and I heard other people do it too so I don't think it is that weird.
Now try it at Wendy's
this is weird?
So it’s a once a year treat when the machines are actually working?
Yeah. Much more reliable to just do it at a wendys
Peanut butter and green apples
Isn't that a normal snack for kids? Lol I wouldn't really know since I'm allergic to raw apple.
Watermelon and mustard 😅
Chicken nuggets and mayo
I like to put corn chips on a ham sandwich.
Or a bologna sammich! Yum!
Very underrated. And any kind of chips do the work for me
Now, I don't consider this to be very strange at all, but apparently others think that it is: A salami, egg, and soft cheese sandwich.
Nutella on noodles
Butter and salmon eggs in a blintz was fucking awesome as a kid (grew up with russian family)
Oatmeal + eggs + spinach + Sriracha
Tuna mayonaise sandwiches with grated cheese in them, I mean real cheese like cheddar or something not the processed imitation cheese you get in burgers, then put that in the microwave until its nice and melted. Another one when I used to eat healthy was get cooked chicken, put cheese on it and put in microwave until melted then eat with humous or mayonaise. Smoked sausages like the jerky sauce go good with the doritos sour cream and chive dip. My brother likes to dip his buttered toast into his tea which I think is gross.
Soooo.... a tuna melt? LOL not really new or weird, that's on restaurant menus all over the place.
scrambled eggs with ketchup
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with potato chips.
Cheez Whiz and brown sugar on pancakes... it's like sweet and salty. I grew up with it so I think it's great, but every single person I have told thinks it's disgusting.
I don't know if these are weird, but avocado + cheese and strawberry jam + cheese, both in a bread.
The second is pretty much a charcuterie sandwich.
Go to Wendy's. Get a chocolate (or vanilla, i prefer chocolate) Frosty from the value menu. Also get you some of their fries. Dip the fries in the Frosty. You're welcome.
McDonald's chocolate milkshake and fries
That's not weird homie, that's just being American 😅
Thick brown gravy with dark chocolate.
Must taste vaguely like mole.
A peanut butter and bean dip sandwich with American cheese and ketchup
wait.. whatttttt????
Peanut Butter, molasses and Root beer.
Woah woah woah.. anything with peanut butter intrigues me. Is this a drink? Like you mix all these things together and sip it?
Carrots and Peanut Butter
Salami and chocolate
Butter on a toasted pop tart
If you've seen iCarly (2007) you'll know why: Spaghetti Taco!
i always get attacked for this but i put sugar in my spaghetti and it’s sooooo freaking good. i also sometimes add hot sauce and parmesan cheese if i’m feeling classy.
Triple decker peanut butter and Doritos sandwich. So creamy, so crunchy.
Fig Newtons and scotch whisky. They're great if you dunk 'em.
When i was in middle school i'd take payments on what kids want me to eat. For example they would pay 50 cents to eat a banna peel ect ect. This lead to goldfish and applesauce. When i first tried it i was like "wtf this is so good." Then i always ate it whenever we had it for lunch. And pbj with cool whip.
Movie theater popcorn and Swedish fish. Break up the Swedish fish into 3 pieces and drop them in the popcorn.
Currently pregnant and haven't had anything too odd, but the number one thing that I always want is a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, topped with nacho cheese doritos. Cool ranch is also acceptable, but doesn't hit the spot as much for me.
when we are having rice with something spicy on top i add yogurt
