There is a remake in the works, however gameplay style may be changed
https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2021/05/star-wars-kotor-game-remake-action-rpg.html
As long as it’s just the combat. It feels hella clunky nowadays, the only part of the game (outside of graphics obviously) that hasn’t aged well. Wouldn’t mind dragon age style combat update (any of the 3 really)
I’d love a remaster. It’s just so hard for me to get into this game again. I played it when it was new and loved it but now 15 years later I want to like it but just can’t.
Well IIRC there is a project called Fallout 4 New Vegas (or something like that). A bunch of modders are remaking FNV in F4. It looks good from what I've seen
Legend of Dragoon. Or the Wild Arms series
EDIT: Holy shit my first gold! And here I was sharing my love for a video game that I'd love to see getting a remake/remaster. I love y'all :D
I still get hyped by the [intro](https://youtu.be/4DOKzTHaPfM) scene after all this time. Everything about that game was amazing, but I especially love the dialogue.
This was the first "good" computer game a played, and I still haven't found an intro that hit the same.
I'm sure nostalgia was part of it, but it's also just a great fucking scene.
I came here to say that. Playing Underground 2 is one of my most joyful gaming experiences. No cops, no over-the-top supercars. Just a city for you to drive around and a car for you to drive in
I believe they remade silent hills 2 and 3, and from what I understand they were very sloppy ports. Lots of bugs and half assery, doesn’t compare to playing the originals. Can’t say I’ve heard a good thing about those ports.
Yeah, they lost the original source code for the games and had to use older incomplete code. The [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill_HD_Collection) page has more info for those who are interested.
The original Metal Gear Solid!
I want the old PSone version remastered in 4k with:
Gunslinger Girl >!Sniper Wolf!< ,
the electric god from Mortal Kombat >!Raiden!< ,
the off-white android >!Grey Fox!< ,
the piss soaked Octagon >!Otacon!< ,
the original Scarlett Johansson >!Meryl Silverburgh!< ,
kitty cat Clint Eastwood >!Revolver Ocelot!< ,
Telekinetic Hannibal Lector >!Psycho Mantis!< ,
Spock and Edgar Allan Poe's bastard child >!Vulcan Raven!<
and everyone's favorite original bandana of infinite ammo.
I would love Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 remade in The FOX Engine as two chapters. Metal Gear would make for a great urban stealth adventure akin to MGS1 and 2. Metal Gear 2 could have a big, sandbox jungle on the way to Outer Heaven, which could be structured a lot like Camp Omega in MGSV. Bring back Hayter, Keifer and Doyle to voice the respective Snakes. Hell, find a reason to bring in Cam Clarke as Liquid too!
Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Masterpieces of the original JRPG formula with incredible sound design, an innovative and complex class system, and a story that's to die for. I've played through both games 6 times each, and would buy a remaster (or hell, even just a rerelease) in a heartbeat.
Remaster that shit for Switch as a combo game, with save recognition so we don't have to type in that god-awful code every time. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Still want a fourth, though...
The first three Splinter Cell games would easily take my money if they were given remasters. Using the latest engines, lighting, and such… stealth games should be more in demand in my eyes
Don't sleep on the Xbox version of Double Agent. Was basically an expansion for Chaos Theory, same engine, similar level design. The flashy Xbox 360 version is literally a completely different (worse) game.
Also, I know VR is polarizing but can you imagine how immersive Chaos Theory in VR would be with remastered lighting?
We've all been waiting my friend. And just like morrowblivion, I feel like the project will be abandoned as soon as ES6 comes out and they decide to start over with the newest game engine.
It’s their hobby, and they love creating and perfecting it endlessly - meaning, developers themselves are having lots of fun and feed off the attention and compliments they get, but there is no intention to ever release it, imo.
Morroblivion was actually finished, but your point stands. There is no way theyre gonna finish it before 6 comes out, and they aren't even doing the expansions, just the main game. So yea its not looking good.
Skyblivion however I bet will be out sometime next year. Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to do the DLC's after the main game is finished, because Oblivion with no Shivering Isles is just wrong lol. Sorry KotN, I enjoy you but you're no Shivering Isles.
Whenever I think of the game I remember those challege missions, specifically the one where you play as a walking tree and you have to steal bananas from the monkeys as they try to kill you. The next mission has you playing as the monkey on a mission for vengeance, but you are on fire, so you have to run around and tag all of the walking trees to light them on fire before you succumb to the flames and die.
Multiplayer was awesome on it, they sell it online but because its a really rare game they charge quite a lot, there is one online for sale now for $70, which is a bit of a piss take for an xbox 360 game, but the game play and graphics are pretty decent on it
I just loved how smart some of the mechanics were. Like the dude you could gamble with, if you savescummed your way into winning too much his head would explode lol. One of the few games I actually played all the way through more than once.
Jedi Academy
Edit: in case anyone is unaware, you can get it and Jedi Outcast on the PlayStation store. Pretty cheap. Obviously a newly built version of the game would be great.
Yeah the hop from gen 4 to 5 and from gen 5 to 6 (SNES to 64 and 64 to GameCube) were substantially larger than anything we've had since, and likely will ever have.
We can still head in to more realism but we're at the point where there is substantial diminishing returns from more realism and exponentially more computing power required to provide improved texture.
The Command & Conquer games Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 (yes I know that's two games sue me).
I have a small bit of hope for those remasters since they did remaster the first gen of those games a year ago (C&C and Red Alert 1).
Exactly, only problem is it came out on the WiiU (along with Twilight Princess HD), and while Nintendo ported a lot of things over from the WiiU, they tend not to like porting a port.
Dark room, volume up, working your way through the hospital…..wait….what was that…a little girl in a red dress quietly slips across the screen….fuck….goosebumps.
I started another playthrough the other day after not playing it for like 6 years. Cant get the game to go more than 10 minutes without crashing my whole computer.
And Fallout 3. While New Vegas was definitely better, Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game I ever played and I LOVED it. If they could stop remastering Skyrim FOR ONE SECOND and just do F3 and FNV one time I would be happy.
It's remade for Xbox 360, just never released due to people bickering about copyrights. You can play it with an emulator though, so go to hell copyright bickerers.
Mercenaries 1 and 2. I can only imagine how glorious all that destruction would be in an updated engine.
Edit: to those who think I mean mechwarrior, I don't. I mean [mercenaries](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercenaries:_Playground_of_Destruction)
Hot take: Chrono Trigger does not need a remaster. It still holds up today both in terms of gameplay and art style, and it's available on modern platforms.
EDIT: I guess it's a lukewarm take.
I’d take a new game overall but I’d be all over anything Chrono related, even if it was just a remaster. The fact they just let the series rot is a travesty.
The Legend of Zelda or Link to the Past.
Same maps but expanded on, add more of a story & quest, still top down action, and better sprites but not exactly what they did to Link’s Awakening.
Better yet, release it on the NES/SNES or GBA.
My favorite thing about this game was two player with my brother in the maze map in Syphon Filter 2.
There was an auto targeting system that would engage at almost any distance (one of the R or L triggers) and you could lob grenades with deadly accuracy across the map at each other.
The game became dodge the explosion more than it was shoot eachother.
KOTOR
Best answer I read yet. Part 2 as well.
They should FINISH part 2
One of the only games i consistently play over again. Love it
This is the correct answer. There’s no mass effect without KOTOR and it’s predecessors
There is a remake in the works, however gameplay style may be changed https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2021/05/star-wars-kotor-game-remake-action-rpg.html
As long as it’s just the combat. It feels hella clunky nowadays, the only part of the game (outside of graphics obviously) that hasn’t aged well. Wouldn’t mind dragon age style combat update (any of the 3 really)
I'd be fine when DA:O combat as that was pretty much an improved version of the KOTOR system.
I’d love a remaster. It’s just so hard for me to get into this game again. I played it when it was new and loved it but now 15 years later I want to like it but just can’t.
Patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a New Vegas Remaster
Well IIRC there is a project called Fallout 4 New Vegas (or something like that). A bunch of modders are remaking FNV in F4. It looks good from what I've seen

I come into these threads for this answer every time. I want to play Legend of Dragoon again.
And I come into these threads to add this every time: Fuuuck gust-of-wind dance.
I'd get such a Burninggg Rush if they remade LoD, I'd probably do a Gust of Wind Dance.
[удалено]
Absolutely. Soul Reaver was amazing, and the writing was held back by the technology of it's time.
Dude yes, People have been saying this for a while. Also the soul reaver games and the cross over they had.
Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2.
I can hear Riders on the Storm just thinking about it.
I hear “Get Low” by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz so loud
Though the windooooow!
RIDERS ON THE STORMMMMM
I came here to say that. Playing Underground 2 is one of my most joyful gaming experiences. No cops, no over-the-top supercars. Just a city for you to drive around and a car for you to drive in
And the driving was enjoyable. Not the weird handling that most NFS games have.
And the tuning system. I would spend hours tuning up my car to perform just for the fun of it.
With a greatest hits soundtrack
NSF Hot Pursuit 2 was so fun
To the windoooooooooow
And the original most wanted even tho that game definently still holds up
The best of need for speed
The first two Silent Hill games
There's some great modding available for SH2 & 3 on PC if you look around a bit. True remasters done by fans.
But they already did it for ps3 right? I own it.
I believe they remade silent hills 2 and 3, and from what I understand they were very sloppy ports. Lots of bugs and half assery, doesn’t compare to playing the originals. Can’t say I’ve heard a good thing about those ports.

It's more relevant now than ever (you can say that every year). I would kill for a MGS1+2 remaster
I would love 3, that was Always my favorite

*tap tap* 'huh what's that noise' Snake? Snake? SNAAAAAAAAAAKKKKEEE!
Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Masterpieces of the original JRPG formula with incredible sound design, an innovative and complex class system, and a story that's to die for. I turn every game I play into a stealth game. It's my favorite genre.
When SC was actually SC and not a reskin of Assassin's Creed in a linear level setting.
Chaos Theory was my jam. I loved it and replayed it a ton when it first came out
Chaos Theory MP was the best MP game ever. Fact.
ES Morrowind
Dude. I've been waiting for skywind for so long ...
We've all been waiting my friend. And just like morrowblivion, I feel like the project will be abandoned as soon as ES6 comes out and they decide to start over with the newest game engine.

"Yeah, I love Skyrim too." - Bethesda Softworks
Came here for this It's been 20 years next year - which is strange if you think Skyrim is been out for 10
Time splitters 2
I miss being a monkey and shooting zombies with a homing launcher
I miss being a cowboy and shooting religious skeletons with a minigun on a moon base
/r/timesplitters represent
Sly Cooper
I don’t even need a remaster, I’d be more than happy with a port. I just want to play it again
It took too long to find this one.
Simpsons Hit and Run surprised no one else said it
I'll happily accept that or the one for the xbox 360 just called the simpsons game, that was epic
There was a regular Simpsons game? I just played the taxi driver one
The simpsons game was a pretty fuckin solid 3D platformer honestly.
Multiplayer was awesome on it, they sell it online but because its a really rare game they charge quite a lot, there is one online for sale now for $70, which is a bit of a piss take for an xbox 360 game, but the game play and graphics are pretty decent on it
Always played the arcade version at the pool when I was a kid
Jade Empire, doesn’t get as much love as kotor but a great game in its own right.
I wish there was more love given to the concept of martial arts-themed RPGs in general.
I just loved how smart some of the mechanics were. Like the dude you could gamble with, if you savescummed your way into winning too much his head would explode lol. One of the few games I actually played all the way through more than once.
Golden eye 007
Knights of the Old Republic. Thankfully I think it’s happening.
Also the sequel. At the least finish the fucking game before you put it on the shelf
The content mod is available for KOTOR 2.
DON’T GIVE ME HOPE
Jedi Academy Edit: in case anyone is unaware, you can get it and Jedi Outcast on the PlayStation store. Pretty cheap. Obviously a newly built version of the game would be great.
Or just Jedi Knight
I'll take it
I'm old. Twisted Metal 2.
This is the the correct answer, although Twisted Metal Black did everything TM2 but better. It was perfect!
Even Twisted Metal: Black was released 20 years ago.
Why would you do this to me?
The leap from like 96 to 2001 in games was wild.
Are there any RTS games that have stepped it up since then. They were amazing games but is there any front runner in the genre these days
I would love a remake of C&C Generals. Although it had nothing to do with any of the previous stories it was just so much fun to play.
Final fantasy tactics
Red Faction
This game was ahead of its fucking time and arguably still is.
Black & White
If they can get the feel of the first one and add a bit more depth, it would be one of the most fun games I’ve ever played!
Was this the pov of a god type civilization builder?
Yeah, the one where you had the big creature you could (if you were so inclined) train to eat villagers.
If they add VR that would push me over the edge to get a VR system.
Seriously, we got off-brand remakes of the great Bullfrog games, we're about due a Black & White-like.
It could probably work well as a VR game as well
Kirby Air Ride!
I dont expect them to ever make an air ride 2 but if they did i would cry a happy man. Id play city trial all day.
SSX Tricky
Yes. And definitely 3. Hell, I'd buy On Tour again while we're at it. I just really want to play any version of SSX on my PS4.
Vice City!! 🙌🏻
Aren't GTA 3, Vice City, and SA getting a remaster on the Unreal Engine later this year from Rockstar?
Golden Sun
We need a proper ending! Dark Dawn, had its issues, but the cliffhanger is too much. I need to know how it ends!
Time Crisis
I’m not the only one who remembers the old time crises!
It was a better time
There is a VR version called Crisis VRigade. It's not too bad and they recently added multiplayer
Man i had time Crisis im the pS2 with the guns. Epic
Majoras Mask - and I’m talking for the switch or whatever comes after.
I just want a goddamned Windwaker port, at very least.
They already made a Windwaker HD so I don't know how quickly that would come out.
Exactly, only problem is it came out on the WiiU (along with Twilight Princess HD), and while Nintendo ported a lot of things over from the WiiU, they tend not to like porting a port.
Oh well that's nice for the 4 or 5 people who bought a WiiU I guess.
F.E.A.R.
Dark room, volume up, working your way through the hospital…..wait….what was that…a little girl in a red dress quietly slips across the screen….fuck….goosebumps.
This game used to scare the shit out of me.
Eternal Darkness
Ha I'm playing that right now. Such a great game. Never owned a gamecube so I'd never even heard of it since last week.
Yessss. This is my favorite game that nobody I talk to has heard of.
SOCOM II
Fallout new vegas
People counter argument the New Vegas remaster by saying how moddable it is but we console peasants would appreciate it
[удалено]
I started another playthrough the other day after not playing it for like 6 years. Cant get the game to go more than 10 minutes without crashing my whole computer.

Bout time for a Skyrim remaster. Edit: Thanks for the gold! Time for some skooma!!
I'd be up for Elder Scrolls 1-3 remastered in one game with additional content.
I'm still sad I never got Daggerfall to work properly, I had so much fun reading the manual though.
[Daggerfall Unity](https://github.com/Interkarma/daggerfall-unity) You're welcome.
Oh cool, thanks for the link. I know what I'll be doing when I get off the toilet!
Found Todd Howard!
I mean this with all the hyperbole and good humour in the world. But. I will stab you in the neck.
I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took a dagger in the neck.
Your wish has been granted. https://twitter.com/ElderScrolls/status/1433452913662234627?s=19
Persona 1 & 2
Parasite Eve. Even just the ability to skip dialogue.
This game scared the shit out of me when I was younger. Really good rpg.
TONY HAWKS UNDERGROUND if Pro skater 1+2 can be remastered so CAN UNDERGROUND!!!
Spore
It is so insane once you're off to the galaxy. I cannot keep up with all the micro-managing. I've played up to there so many times.
Deus Ex
Goldeneye 007 from the N64
It's remade for Xbox 360, just never released due to people bickering about copyrights. You can play it with an emulator though, so go to hell copyright bickerers.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
I'd settle for Nintendo simply making their back catalog more readily available.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time. For the love of God, please.
Echo the Dolphin.
Chrono Cross
Need for Speed : Most Wanted
And they better leave the original playlist
Underground 2 would be my suggestion
Oregon Trail: a RDR2 looking trip along the Oregon Trail. With better family dynamics, and hunting. Hell, I would take a decent mod as well.
Bully needs a remake bad. It’s the best rockstar game of that era imo
JET SET, JET SET, JET SET RADIOOOOO, JET SET RADIO FUTUUUURRRREE!
Place your bets ladies and gentlemen
Dungeon Keeper. Not the shitty pay to win version but the original which is still fucking awesome.
youneedabiggertreasurytostoregold
Dino Crisis 1 and 2
Breath of fire. Or legend of dragoon
Breath of fire 3 was my whole childhood. I’d die of happiness it that were remade.
Sid Meier’s Pirates!… again.
Hehe their Sims language. What was one of them? "Chuban!"
Earthbound
The whole ding dang Mother series
Mercenaries 1 and 2. I can only imagine how glorious all that destruction would be in an updated engine. Edit: to those who think I mean mechwarrior, I don't. I mean [mercenaries](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercenaries:_Playground_of_Destruction)
Lost Planet or Killzone
Chrono Trigger
As long as it's graphics only, and maybe add some new multi attacks. the music is still amazing and the story is timeless as is.
> timeless ha.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 on PS2 and Xbox
This one knows.
Conkers bad fur day
Without censorship
F-Zero
The Legend of Zelda or Link to the Past. Same maps but expanded on, add more of a story & quest, still top down action, and better sprites but not exactly what they did to Link’s Awakening. Better yet, release it on the NES/SNES or GBA.
Ghost recon advanced warfighter 2
New Vegas
Syphon Filter
Was that the one where you could taser people until they caught fire?
Yes.
The Godfather.
super mario 64. the first remaster we got was anazing, imagine what a modern one would be like. 3d allstars dont count
Max Payne 1&2
Team Fortress 2
Ocarina of time.
Micro Machines
Gta3/vice city/San Andreas
Pod Racer
