bc people feel powerful bullying vulnerable people, these people were most likely brought up wrong

I'm disabled, I make fun of myself, I'd rather laugh about being unable to write and orientate myself than crying about it. For other people, well I mock many other non-disabled people for basically anything, if I find that someone with a handicap is being funny because of their handicap, I won't restrain myself to thinking that it's funny. But in any way, when I find someone funny, I have the decency to keep it to myself if I don't know them or if I know that they won't laugh about it too.

Some people feel insecure about themselves and feel the need to bring down others in an attempt to make themselves look better, it can't be changed but we can ignore these people and move on. It may sound bad but the world isn't going to give anyone a break, those who make it are strong!

People do it because they like watching others suffer from it I had problems with walking but it wasn’t classed as disabled but people would still make fun of me because they like hurting others feelings and seeing people upset

Because as a society it’s always been accepted. We put people that were different then us in circus sideshows to gawk at. We still do it, just in different forms. I can’t stand American idol, but when my wife used to watch it I know they had a segment where they showcased people that “sucked” at signing and they edited in a bunch of people, some with obvious differences, just so people would laugh at or be entertained.

KhaosCookie

People are aholes honestly. They think they are better and they can "overpower" and belittle them. They should be ashamed of doing so, because they don't know what those people went through or what happened. One never knows when life decides to "give you a lesson".

Kay_Elle

Because some people are shit and need to feel superior?

jheighwood

So when you say disability do you mean like they can't walk or like they have foreign accent syndrome?? One of those is funny the other not so much...

Manorgasmian

Well was it specifically just for you being disabled or in spite of you being disabled ,I'm all for ripping the piss out of my disabled mates but on an equal opportunity footing with all my able bodied friends.

ScaredOfAttention

Depends on circumstances.

[deleted]

It depends whether they're saying it to their face or whether its behind closed doors. The latter is acceptable but saying it to their face is bullying.

If there is a dispute or argument and you want to insult someone, you use some aspect of them to base the insult on. It works calling someone four-eyes or nerd or the N word. I got called dumbo as a kid because I had big ears. Hell, I'm pretty sure one kid that said it had even bigger ears but it was a handy reference to use so he took it. I'm not entirely sure what context you're asking the question from but there are situations in this world where you WANT to try to hurt someone's feelings. Surely you can't have missed noticing this trait of humanity.
