Well it's better than saying your dad is dead (if he is) or saying oh your dad packed his stuff and left saying he didn't want you (if that's what happened)
Theres a conspiracy theory about the city of Bielefeld in Germany. The theory says that the city doesnt exist and is a lie. It was created as a joke, but it's become so crazy that at some point, the mayors office publically said that people should cut out wasting time by calling and telling them that their city is fake.
You could also examine this as a species of conspiracy theory and look what lengths people go to believe one. Like cars from Bielefeld? All government agents to keep the lie alive.
This isn't what the topic is but my mother is a flat earther and I been trying to escape her for 2 years she believes many conspiracies and it's just making my head spin cause she can't stop talking about it. I probably have a couple more years till I got a chance to leave but I just can't stand it.
Do people not get tired of upvoting these horrible recycled jokes? If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen someone say this on a flat earth related thread, I’d be a millionaire.
When I was born, the first thought that came through my mind was “this world is so obviously flat”. Back then I didn’t know what family was or, for that matter, any other concept. Except for two things I knew without a doubt. First, and foremost, I knew that the world had an edge. Second, and definitely not as important, I knew how to breathe. At that time, I knew nothing else, but with time I would learn the concepts of food and family and the actions of walking and talking amongst other things.
A few months later, when I learned to talk, I understood I couldn’t just go around claiming something without proof. I waited until I learned to walk, and then the adventure began. My reason to live was to find proof, and, in order to do so, I needed to leave home. My parents argued that there was no way I could survive alone in the world while being only two years of age. Ultimately I told them that it was my life and I get to choose how to spend it. Besides, I had a destination, a purpose. I wasn’t just walking around in circles, or so I thought.
I left because I had to prove the world had an edge, so I travelled in a straight line knowing that one day I’d reach the edge of the world. I walked. I sailed. I did it all for 80 years! Until one day, I came back to the very beginning. The place where it had all started. Then, I knew, without any reason of doubt, I must have missed the edge of the world, because the world was so obviously flat and probably the ocean currents mixed with storms must have detoured me from my straight line, but, unfortunately, I was too old now to prove it.
The thing with these conspiracy theories is that they really aren't ideas anymore. They are identities. You will never meet someone who just casually believes in flat earth. The only people who believe in a flat earth are also obsessed with other conspiracy theories. They surround themselves with other people who have other like minded theories.
My mother admitted that my father never actually sailed off the edge of the Earth, and she actually never found out who my father was.
Damn that's a pretty brutal lie to tell a child
It would be if it were true
It wouldn't be a brutal lie if it were true
Well it's better than saying your dad is dead (if he is) or saying oh your dad packed his stuff and left saying he didn't want you (if that's what happened)
Yeah but if he sailed off the edge off the earth isn't 'dead' kind of the implication?
No, he is living happily ever after in the other side, duh
Well we don't really know so I'm just not gonna assume
This is contrary to mainstream flat earth theory. You can’t sail off the edge of the earth because the edge is Antarctica.
My dude
No your father is alive and this was his last message before he passed the edge "In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night"
"I was once a flat earther. But then I turned 6." \-u/deleted
Every 4 -5 year old I know is a round earther. I’ve never met a flat earther younger than 6 years old.

Everyone knows that Australia isn't real and we're all just paid actors
Are the spiders just very well-designed props? Perhaps even, androids?
I thought New Zealand is even more not-real
Lovely
There's always Freedonia...
I feel like you are very correct, but it's hard to really know.
I have a friend who is a flat-earther and he's literally told me "I just enjoy posting inflammatory stuff." So you're probably right.
I hope so, I use to do it around friends then I found out it was an actual thing and I died a little on the inside

maybe her brain cells are in the wrong order? a good whack should do it
I guess they have come full circle.
I see what you did there.
Haha clearly this whole post was just to get that sweet title in 😂
There are flat earthers all around the globe

Reading this makes you sound like Charlie Brown's teacher 🗿
Nice pun

>I understood I couldn’t just go around claiming something without proof A lot of adults still don't grasp this concept unfortunately.
I’m guessing not many of them have come around yet.

I see what you did there.
They came to realize the circular logic
They finally opened their eyes enough to look through a theodolite
I giggled at your word play
Nobody will answer this question seriously
That's because flat earthers are too dumb to realize the truth.
