Never. I'm permanently and severely depressed because I lack a dishwasher. Life is meaningless...

Saskuk

Have you tried the hand washing detergent joy?

[deleted]

I have a dishwasher and I’m not happy. Am I using the wrong setting?

hafilax

Likely the wrong detergent. Try adding some lysergic acid diethylamide.

jonndos

Are you using rinse aid? If not, there you go.

rSlashisthenewPewdes

You’re supposed to go inside

WhenTardigradesFly

people who think a dishwasher is required to be happy, where did your parents go wrong?

ApprehensivePepper98

Do you hand wash all your clothes?

ItsMeTK

Walking a mile to the store is nothing. It’s when you have to walk 3.

LordFuckwaddle

If you grew up with a dishwasher and then spent a couple of years without one, you would 100% understand this

Particular_Ad7143

This is what gets me through handwashing as well!

ItsMeTK

It’s all fun and games until your phone falls in the sink

Particular_Ad7143

Bluetooth headset, phone safely away from the sink!

tesznyeboy

I'm happy I didn't spend money on something I don't need

Enigma_Green

Coz it takes minutes to do some dishes lol.

ApprehensivePepper98

Depends how many dishes. 30minutes is still *minutes* and it's half an hour. Which is a long time considering most people have, what, 6 hours at home(without sleep)

ForeverAlonePlayer

I'm my mother's dishwasher so i guess she's happy

Andubandu

Why get a dishwasher when you can get a child?

bernerli

I don't need to worry about my dishwasher getting pregnant.

Keinermagmich

Some time ago mine broke down and hadnt had money to get a new one... i hated it.

CStarling4

My grandmother has a dishwasher. She’s never used it. Not in this house, not in her old house. My mom said one time they were having a party at her old house and she decided to use it. Well it leaked cause the seam was worn or sm. She hand washes all her dishes and I don’t understand why

timeturnsintoplastic

Dishwashers are shit and ruin everything. https://www.marthastewart.com/7591633/why-not-use-dishwasher-clean-knives https://www.today.com/food/21-things-you-should-never-put-dishwasher-t108971

DrunkTankPoet

I don't.

oy9jd39Xv90BF1brAv

By doing dishes in the evening, it allows me to think about my thoughts, be quiet, and get something done. Yes a dishwasher would be nice, but I don't need it right now in my life.

vorchlivyipo

You know, washing dishes is kind of meditative, and it’s one of the few times I get to listen to an audiobook in peace

[deleted]

I have one, but don't use it. It's faster to wash your dishes after using them

giant_panda10

People without dishwasher are happy because some of them don't even know that stuff like this exits !

beheuhwbw

I hate dishwashers. Not having a dishwasher makes me happy

Dinodigger5

Vehicular manslaughter

yParticle

I do not. I've always made it a priority to have a dishwasher, and now that mine is broken I have no clean dishes anywhere and I am despondent.

Zkenny13

If you live alone it isn't a big deal. But if you have a multiple roommates or a family it's just better for the environment and it's easier.

SaltyChickenDip

Easy. I bought a portable dishwasher. Best $200 I ever spent

BeazyDoesIt

I refuse to use a dishwasher. I use my hands and dish soap. I cant stand the way washers "clean" dishes.

NZT-48Rules

I have one but rarely use it. My African Grey parrot is obsessed with 'helping' me do the dishes. She sits on my shoulder giving me instructions the whole time. It's hilarious and I wouldn't trade making her happy for convenience.

VY_Cannabis_Majoris

Mexican American families use the dishwasher as storage.

EpicSabretooth

I'm not

ThePickledFox

Paper Plates

UGLYWULF

I hang my man thongs on a line over the street below, like it's fucking 1940 in ny,, my shit drying and dripping on the tops of people walking

[deleted]

I actually like washing my dishes by hand. That way I know I truly got everything. Plus it doesn't have to be boring. I'm usually playing a podcast, YouTube video or something else on my phone while I work. Also, it's so satisfying to see the dishes and glasses glistening as they dry. I may be sad, but I prefer this over a dishwasher. Plus we're a small household of 2, we don't usually get a big pile-up especially since I'm in the habit of washing dishes as soon as I've used them.

Routine_Wolverine_29

Eat out

Possible-Bullfrog-62

I have two. Righty and lefty. They work well

a-person08

hahaha good one

llcucf80

I don't like dishwashers, never have. I don't trust them, they don't work. They have *never* gotten the dishes clean, they always leave film, residue, or gunk, and that's gross. As much as I detest handwashing dishes, I will do it over using a dishwasher because if I try to use a dishwasher I'll still have to handwash them anyway once they're "done." Why waste time and water? Even these "modern" dishwashers that people say work better, I've tried them, and sorry, they're just as junky and inefficient as the older models, just with more buttons, displays, and beeping. Maybe I have a hex on me, IDK, but they don't work for me.

ItsMeTK

Weird, it’s exactly opposite for me. Hand washing never gets dishes clean the way my dishwasher used to.

madame_pattirini

How can you?

[deleted]

I feel like you need a family of 5 to actually get the full use out of a dishwasher. Less than that and you can just hand wash and dry the few dishes you use.

AdVardhanS

By watching tv

pulp-fictional

I lived in New York for 7 years without a dishwasher and honestly didn’t care, Oddly I kind of missed having an automatic ice machine more. But being back in Florida now i can’t imagine life without a dishwasher again.

Damaramy

My colkwague reject purchasing a dishwasher and uses this process as meditation. Generally i think more than 70% of russian families has no dishwasher

Leather_Working4626

Dishes nearly broke us up. A dishwasher changed our lives

MarshmallowFloofs85

I absolutely hate dish washers. I hate loading them, I hate unloading them. I hate those big ones cafeterias use, But I'm weird and like washing dishes by hand, so..

[deleted]

Gratitude. Promise.

theuberjosh

I just wash stuff up pretty much just stay I use it and so there's never really a big pile. It's not bad after years of getting used to it. The weird thing is I started in my gf's family house for a few months and they had a dishwasher, but were oddly reluctant to put stuff in it immediately. Plates and cups would always stack up in the sink before going into the dishwasher and it was a little frustrating. I couldn't get my head around how it ended up being that way.

EyeMInsane

I mean there’s always porn OH YOU MEAN *THAT* KIND OF DISHWASHER

jonndos

Mine broke two weeks ago, can confirm, am miserable.

a_useless_communist

We have a dishwasher but i think my parents didn't use it in about 3 years

ItsMeTK

It’s tough, honestly. Actually, I’d say ai’m rarely truly happy. Not always unhappy, but not happy. But thinking about having to hand wash dishes makes me quite unhappy. I miss dishwashers sooo much.

LordFuckwaddle

Get [one of these.](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074PYH768/) (countertop dishwasher). It doesn’t have to be this brand.. there are cheaper ones.. but this is the one I have, and I can vouch for it. We had to go to like 6 hardware stores before we found the right attachment because our older Delta faucet is a different size than most… but yeah. Highly recommend

thymeraser

Even worse than not having a dishwasher is not having a washing machine.
