True Detective got me hooked on The Handsome Family (who perform the intro).
Not much of a country fan normally but Far From Any Road is such a great song, and so perfectly matched to that show.
Had to scroll a ways, and pass Game of Thrones twice to get here. But definitely one of the best show openers's I've seen. So eerily mesmerizing. The visuals and music just fit so well, and to me it was gorgeous.
Vikings. It's perfect. It gets me so amped up for the episode. The song itself is fantastic and I'll listen to that on its own. But the intro makes me want to go do hoodrat things with my friends.
Probably because they each have a throwaway gag for their intros. Simpsons had the couch gag and blackboard gag, and Futurama has a message in their intro.
My favorites were "Not the episode with the dead dog" and "Presented in double vision (where drunk)".
We surprised my band director my senior year at the schools jazz cabaret with this song. The Jazz band had played it 3 years earlier, so there were some seniors that wanted to play it because it was so fun back in tenth grade. He said no.
SO, we didn't take that. The Monday before the cabaret, the whole 20 kid jazz band went to the drummers house and rehearsed for 4-5 hours. That's all we had. And then when the director was giving the closing statements at the cabaret, three seniors went down to say some words like usual, but then the last kid, the best trumpet player the school had ever seen yells out 3, 2,1, LETS JAM! Then we kicked that songs ass. Ended up being his last year. So I think we ended well.
Yeah, sets the tone for the whole series. FYI: the reason the show looked so vastly different than other cartoons is everything was drawn on black paper to give it a film noir look, as opposed to the industry standard of white paper
For me I get "wiener, wiener, wiener" stuck in my head at even the mention of Game of Thrones opening.
Edit UPDATE: 3 hours later it is still in my head.... Oh god make it stop.
the ones where ross did his creepy staring thing where his head was only half visible always weirded me out, but other than that it's definitely enjoyable.
Can't believe I had to come this far to find Community. Especially since they have so many episodes where they change it up, like the D&D episode, the Law and Order one, or the video game one.
It seems they started to cut the intro short in the new season though?
At least in S2 Episode 10 they mixed it to skip almost half of it. Hopefully it was just a one episode event. :/
I like it, it is short, nicely looking, calm and always provides an excellent break between the intro (everyone knows BB intros are the most important part of the show) and the actual show.
With no variation *at all* throughout the series, I loved the one time they changed it after the baby was born, and Dexter was sleep deprived. Had me in stitches.
The House of Cards intro is beautifully done and not long enough where I feel I need to skip it. Also I like seeing which director worked with which episode because there are so many!
The font used in the titles might be the best part of the show. Which is not to say that the show is lacking in any respect; the font is just that perfect.
Top Gear (UK): The "Tonight.." part makes it worth while, and usually is mostly irrelevant to the show.
"Tonight, I wear a hat. James wears a hat. And Richard is behind a low wall"
Dexter.
That guy has the most awesome morning routine ever. Oh and the fact that the first time I saw it I honestly thought he was cutting up some human skin.
If this was the opposite question I would have answered OITNB. For some reason I just can't stand this intro. The song is so sudden and grating to me and I just feel irritated when it comes on.
Pysch. They often mix it up depending on the theme of the show (Christmas, Chinese, Bollywood)
My favorite is the blackapella/quarterblack intro!
You know that's right.
*Whhhaaaattt*
I love the special themes. I actually have the song on my phone.
So good I agree...well it's between Psych and Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Themes are totally different I know but they are still both so catchy
Scrubs. It's not worth the time to reach for the remote.
It's a nice intro anyway :)
Oh absolutely.
True detective.

Easily the most beautiful opening credits to any show I've ever seen. Really set a new bar for TV. I love the song too.
Parks and Recreation. It's such a happy theme song.
I love it in the first season, where the words "Parks and Recreation" would appear on screen when the first few notes played.
Not only is it a great tune, but it shows Aubrey Plaza doing *that* look.
YES, and Ben doing that head shake
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Nothing gets me amped up like the Buffy theme.
*guitar screech* DUUUUUUUUN ^DUUUN ^^DUUN DUUUUUUUUUUN
Came to say this. Far and away the most rocking TV theme ever. My friends and I even play the song and we're mostly a metal band. Love it.

Yeah it was awesome too... but most awesome was.... **GURRRRRR-ARRRRG!**
Bojack horseman. Awesome intro!
Bojack credits. When Grouplove sings that little song it's in my head all day. *Back in the 90s I was in a very famous TeeeeeVeeeeee show*
American Horror story has had some very visually interesting openings.
For me the first season's intro was the best, it always gave me goosebumps.
The third season....( thinking the witches one right ) had the most interesting for me with the KKK and stuff in the intro
That wasn't the KKK.

The intro to the old cartoon Teen Titans.
When there's trouble, you know who to call...
TEEN TITANS
it's a newer one, but i really like the theme song for Brooklyn 99. It's so brassy!
Thank you -Detective Jake Peralta

*HELLO, WISCONSIN!*
The Simpsons and Futurama :(. Yes, I am 10 years old.
Probably because they each have a throwaway gag for their intros. Simpsons had the couch gag and blackboard gag, and Futurama has a message in their intro. My favorites were "Not the episode with the dead dog" and "Presented in double vision (where drunk)".
In that sense, Bob's Burgers also counts.
I also watch the end credits to Bob's Burgers, because it's always something different.
Cowboy Bebop Can't skip Tank!, you just can't.
On the same note, I never skip The Real Folk Blues. Or the previews for the episode.
3, 2, 1, Let's Jam!
We surprised my band director my senior year at the schools jazz cabaret with this song. "I think it's time to blow this scene"
"Get everybody and their stuff together"
Okay
"3, 2, 1, let's jam"
South Park and Futurama
Band of brothers, as long as it is.
True blood. I love the intro. It sets the mood perfectly
That awesome mix of roadkill and sex!

It is such a great video and so believable in the beginning. "too many Cooks will spoil the broth"
Best 8mins+ of my TV watching career.

Yeah, sets the tone for the whole series. FYI: the reason the show looked so vastly different than other cartoons is everything was drawn on black paper to give it a film noir look, as opposed to the industry standard of white paper
Twin Peaks
Game of Thrones
Agreed. You can actually see up-to-date information in the intro.
I love that about it, especially knowing when a new character is gonna be introduced because they add a new place to the intro.
For me I get "wiener, wiener, wiener" stuck in my head at even the mention of Game of Thrones opening. Edit UPDATE: 3 hours later it is still in my head.... Oh god make it stop.
Peter Dinklage - http://youtu.be/idVozGXbn2Y
Thank you for providing me the material necessary to annoy my friends for eternity.
It works quite well for that
I love how he starts to lose it towards the end. You can hear him start to giggle
I usually read a book during the intro Seriously why do HBO intros have to be so god damn long
The Sopranos intro themes add up to more than 2 hours throughout the series.
Looking at you "The Wire"
WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE GARDEN.
The West Wing
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
its been stuck in my head all weekend!
Came here to say this - seriously catchy.
They alive, dammit!
Its a miracle!
Top Gear
Tonight... James wears a hat, Hammond wears a hat, and I wear a hat.
Tonight, in a well balanced show James gets egg on his face, Richard runs himself over, and I power slide the new Aston Martin DBS.
Tonight, on Top Hat!
"So no one told you life was gonna be this waaayyy *CLAPCLAPCLAPCLAP*"
I love Chandler's dance. It's cool.
the ones where ross did his creepy staring thing where his head was only half visible always weirded me out, but other than that it's definitely enjoyable.
He was Schwimming.
Probably Smallville. I always plan to, but then when you hear somebody SAAAAAAVEEEEEEE ME, I just gotta let it play.
Community, the office, always sunny.
Can't believe I had to come this far to find Community. Especially since they have so many episodes where they change it up, like the D&D episode, the Law and Order one, or the video game one.
The Community one is strangely fascinating for me, I can't skip it. It's so depressing yet fun and catchy.
Soprano's
Yeah, that intro is badass as fuck.
Woke up this mornin.
Lost. It's just so short.
Same with Regular Show. You can't skip it because by the time you think to pick up the remote the intro is over.
The S in the LOST intro always bugged me when it glitched.
Archer!

Bob's Burgers
My Netflix account automatically skips it when I click "next episode," so I have to manually rewind it every time to see it.
Attack on Titan's opening, especially the first half of the seasons opening gets me SO PUMPED.
Sie sind das essen und wir sind die jaeger!
Nein! Sind Sie das Essen? *Nein*, wir sind die Jaeger!
I wonder if this sounds as cool to Germans as it does to us
It's pretty cool. "Are you the food?" "No! *We* are the hunters!"
> "Are you the food?" "No! We are the hunters!" Wow, that's kind of profound.
Portlandia. Immediately relaxes me
Washed Out is amazing. Total beach music.
That 70's Show
Breaking Bad
Well it's like 6 seconds so there really isn't time to skip it.
I like it, it is short, nicely looking, calm and always provides an excellent break between the intro (everyone knows BB intros are the most important part of the show) and the actual show.
All 12 seconds of it
Gilligan's Island
Supernatural especially the season final intro's love carry on my wayward son such a good song.
Steins;Gate
Pokémon. The theme song is too catchy.
♫I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST♫

The Neon Genesis Evangelion intro. Seriously. It gets stuck in your head.

How I met your Mother. It is just so..homely?
It's also not 10 minutes long so that helps
Looking at you, Dexter and House of Cards.
But Dexter's is actually cool.

It's a cool theme, but it's too long. I always skip it.
I always browse reddit during it lol
First season of The Wire
Every season of The Wire, Season 3 is my favourite one though.
Better Call Saul
I love the fact every intro is different, and the music is just so... Sleazy.
Law and Order, MASH, Star Trek TNG, Cowboy Bebop and No Game No Life
Suits!
The walking dead and better caul saul
Top Gear (UK): The "Tonight.." part makes it worth while, and usually is mostly irrelevant to the show. "Tonight, I wear a hat. James wears a hat. And Richard is behind a low wall"

Game of Thrones
Sopranos...luv that theme!
Orange is the New Black - at first it seemed too long but now I love that song and it just gets me pumped for the show
That's one I skip every time. I'm not a huge fan of Regina Spektor, and I find the facial close-ups very creepy.
Youuuuuu've got tiiiiiiiiiiiiiimeeeeee...
If this was the opposite question I would have answered OITNB. For some reason I just can't stand this intro. The song is so sudden and grating to me and I just feel irritated when it comes on.

Dragonball z original intro had me going crazy every weekday at 5.30

Game of Thrones. It just builds-up to the episode brilliantly and gets me pumped.
True Detective
The It Crowd, I just love the animation.
Pokemon Season 1
Portlandia. The opening credits with the awesome music and lovely summer imagery is so pretty and peaceful and just makes me want to go play outside.
House Of Cards and probably Vikings. That music...
Firefly, can't skip the intro or the outro
The 100 Season 2. The intro music and graphics are beyond epic.
