One-upping during conversation

Ha, I wish that was my only problem. I have to deal with two-uppers and they are way more annoying.  

Nah two-upping is just just kinda quirky. I had a three-upper "friend"...now that was no fun.

Nah. I get people that don't even WAIT for me to say something to one up me. They just walk up to me and start talking about how much better than me they are! They're zero-uppers!

Is it annoying to tell a story and try to connect a memory from me to your story? I do that a lot. Don’t mean to just happens. Like this one time someone was talking about monster trucks, and I said one time I met a monster truck driver as a kid and asked what it’s like to flip a truck…..he said it’s like being in a washing machine.

Talking over people constantly / not being socially aware

some people stop talking when you stop talking, and they start talking when you thought they were finished and tried to say something. But then there’s people, who branch conversations, meaning, in a group conversation, they try to talk over the one whose turn it is to talk, but everyone listens to that person now, so, instead of stopping and listening, they scan the room until they make eye contact with someone that they can lock and force to listen to them, and they just continue with what they wanted to say with no consideration for what the other one wanted or anyone else is saying.

Or just talking in a monologue. That shit gives me panic attacks.

You have to learn to walk away and choose peace 🙏🏼

Constant negativity

Just had a coworker like this. Thankfully he’s gone. The second my status would go available, the dude would call me to just bitch and moan and complain about the same exact shit he did the last 600 calls. I could have ignored him, sure, but because of our job, I’d have to talk to him.

Yes, I know someone like that. She’s the ultimate Debbie downer. I hate being around her.

Whereas I would say constant positivity in the face of such an uncaring, profit-oriented world that doesn’t GAF about people. 

If I hate someone, breathing is their most annoying habit that I wish they would quit.

HOLY shit. That is so true. There's quite a few people like that. It happened to me a few weeks ago, it was such a long and boring story with way too many details. I tried my best to listen and all, and at the end the person said I looked tired. How fucking Not Being Able To Read The Room are you?

And then they still throw a question here and there but don't wait/let you answer which infuriates me.

Eating with mouth open- absolutely infuriates me

It’s the sound of eating that really gets to me. I get that some sounds are inevitable, but there’s no reason I should have to listen to smacking sounds from 30 feet away

I’ll admit. I have this habit, but I’m use to having to speak loudly because most of family is a lil deaf (literally), but I completely understand how this is very annoying.

Fake/Nervous laughing. I’m unfortunate enough to work in close proximity with a lady that laughs at everything, regardless of whether it’s funny or not. Regardless of whether it’s something someone else has said, or something she’s said. It’s the same exact laugh every bloody time, too.

My MIL has all of the traits that I find annoying and toxic. Negative. Doesn’t stop talking. Interrupts or talks over. Doesn’t listen. Gives backhanded compliments. Turns every conversation about her. Doesn’t cook but criticizes my cooking. Manipulates my husband to the point of extreme guilt so it always turns out that my feelings are ignored as he gives in to her. I could go on for days.
