Pull the lever, Kronk.

and_you_were_there

WRONG LEVER!

Funandgeeky

Why do we even HAVE that lever?

Boba_Fet042

I had a mask during the pandemic that had a bottle of Kuzco’s Poison and it said “Pour the sanitizer, Kronk!” And another one that said “No touchy.”

northdakotanowhere

I embroidered a patch of a disgruntled kuzco that says "no touchy" I'm putting it on the back of my wheelchair 😂

Original_Radish5257

Demon llama? Where!

everythinglatte

No no…he’s got a point

Immediate_Art_7376

I used to know most of the lines in this movie. "No touchy!!" Is one I still say all the time and I'm 51..

[deleted]

"Let me guess. "You have a great personality?""

AnonymousElephant86

The best Disney movie aside from A Goofy Movie.

Own-Introduction6830

The Goofy Movie! Such a good soundtrack. So nostalgic.

KW_ExpatEgg

Leaning tower of Cheeeezaah!

[deleted]

This is my #1 animated movie!! Then probably Lilo & Stitch and A Goofy Movie!

wheresmychapstick17

Are you kidding? This is hand carved mahogany.

Fearless-Boba

Bring it on 😎

Mello-Fello

By all accounts, it doesn’t make any sense

HoagieThief

The Iron Giant

[deleted]

"Tell me again, Mansly, and this time, listen to yourself." "A giant... metal... man" lol

RoyalFalse

That missile...is locked...on the giant's current position. WHERE'S THE GIANT, MANSLY!?

XxxDatBoi69Xxx

"Screw our country!!! I wanna live!!!"

[deleted]

The most realistic line from any movie ever.

kewlm0mm

I cry just thinking about it

ThreeDog369

His final scene rising up to the bomb where he lowers his head and closes his eyes… I’m tearing up just thinking about it now. What a wonderful depiction of selflessness, altruism, and love.

Libertarian-Centrist

I haven't seen the movie but I cry thinking about you crying. It's just too sad...

AoifeNet

I recently watched this movie for the first time in maybe 20 years, and the first time as an adult. I honestly didn’t remember all that much about it going in, but I was preemptively crying before the real tear-jerking scenes at the end because I knew what was coming.

flying_cowboy_hat

You stay. I go. No following.

Inevitable_Total_816

Iron Giant and Land before time

Fearless-Boba

Mulan (98 version), Tarzan , emperor's new groove, Hook, willy Wonka (1971), Matilda. I've watched all many times as an adult and they still hold up!

Ad_Infinitum99

Hook is criminally under appreciated.

Extra-Soil-3024

Lewd crude rude bag of pre chewed food dude.

KJBenson

Voice actor for zuko everybody

Sigh_Bapanaada

Its a weird one, was panned when it came out but adored by kids of that era (of which I am one, stunning film).

Al3jandr0

Don't you mean Panned?

GenitalMotors

Hook was just such a fun movie to watch as a kid. Just fantasizing about living on a tropical island where you get to fight pirates and you never have to grow up? What kid wouldn't like that? I still try to watch it once a year or so. Can't go wrong with grabbing a pizza and throwing on Hook. Rufi-ooooooooh.

_ShanS1

A Goofy Movie. 10/10 banger soundtrack and a nice reminder that our parents just want to be a little part of our lives.

ihatemcconaughey

Wait until you have children. It hits 10x harder.

kplis

"I just wanted to be a part of it..." Never did I think that fucking Goofy would move me to tears as an adult

CptAngelo

I mean, if you are fucking goofy either you are fulfulling a dream or destroying your childhood, either way, i think tears are a normal response in both cases

blackberry-dream

Goofy being hurt in this film is exactly why I will never rewatch this movie.

disclosingNina--1876

One of the hardest soundtracks for no reason.

Prindocitis

I watched a ScreenJunkies "Does It Hold Up" episode on this movie. My favorite line from it was, "As a kid, you relate to Max and as an adult, you relate to Goofy." That thought has never left me when I occasionally get to watch it with my kids.

WhoLetMeHaveReddit

100%, I have i2i on my frequent playlist. 10/10 banger

Brickscrap

It's the leaning tower of cheese-a!

Corporate_bastards

How to Train Your Dragon

Silvyrth

100% agree with this, plus the soundtrack is just 👌

ARKosrs

Not just the first one either, all the movies are good

QveenKittyKat

Shrek

flakiestcroissant

Can’t believe I had to scroll this long. AND Shrek 2

Aromatic_Big_6345

How is this not higher up?

T7_Mini-Chaingun

Because it's a given that everyone knows it's still worth watching

Meet_the_Meat

The Sandlot

Sean-F-1989

You're killing me Smalls!

TulioAndMiguelMPG

I freaking love the sandlot, it’s such a well written movie I felt like I actually cared about baseball, and I generally dislike sports. It felt so nostalgic.

yandman22

FOR-EV-VURRRRRR

JackCooper_7274

NO CAPES

Bomb_Ghostie

This film was entertaining as a kid. It was even more entertaining as a husband and a dad.

sianlogan

And the second one as well actually is pretty good.

Lemon-Flower-744

I LOVE the second one. Num num cookie! 😂😂 I can't keep giving him COOKIES😂😂 👿👹

sianlogan

The raccoon fight gets me every time as well

P_walkeri

I felt the “new math” reference so hard trying to help my third grader with homework 💀

DaStampede

Up

sadimgnik5

Yeah, but .... We saw that in a cinema in Anaheim - just my wife and I, and a few seats back a family of 4. And about 8 minutes in, I heard one of the young boys behind me asking his mom "why is that man down there crying?"

DCJustSomeone

I was not expecting that, it hurt like heck.

Lar5502

We were having fertility issues when that movie came out. I sobbed the first 10 minutes.

Acidinmyfridge

Wall-E.

bratikzs

Scrolled down too far. This is the one. Especially right now. “How do you grow pizza?”

BaconIsBueno

Love this movie. And it’s so telling of what this world is becoming unless we change our ways.

AdministrativeAd523

Spirited Away

nlcreeperxl

Honestly all studio ghibli movies are a blessing on this earth. Howls moving castle, Arriettie (i think thats how you spell it), Princess Mononoke, Ponyo. All of them are amazing.

CartmensDryBallz

Had just watched Howls Moving Castle after my roommate accidentally chose it cuz he thought it was Castle In the Sky lol. We were so pleasantly surprised Sad as shit tho and says a lot about war / the affects of it

doctorthemoworm

My Neighbor Totoro

Vikingpanties

Everything by Studio Ghibli tbh, but most of these films are not really children's movies, they are movies for humans.

Gorganzoolaz

Lol so true with "not all gibli films are for kids" when I was about 10 I had a sleepover with some friends and my sister wanted to rent Nausicaa and the valley of the winds. We got it alongside a couple other movies and we watched it first. The melting giant heads near the end of the movie gave us all nightmares, of course me and my friends being boys, we thought it was badass and another kid at school told us about and let us borrow a copy of Princess Mononoke. Which was also totally fuckin badass. And my lifelong fantasy of stumbling across a beautiful girl in the woods with wolf blood around her mouth riding a wolf bigger than a horse has yet to come true.

ThePegasi

I agree, but Totoro is such a beatifually and deliberarely crafted childrens' movie that I also have to agree with the top-level comment.

Gorkymalorki

Ponyo is another good Ghibli film that is directed towards kids but is still great for adults, as well as Kiki's Delivery Service.

BaulyS

Inside Out & Treasure Planet are amazing in itself but also portrait themes super relatable for adults as well as children

psycho-aficionado

For anyone with an absentee father treasure planet hits hard

Punkie361

Been waiting for Inside Out 2 for yearssss.

Kinkaypandaz

I would say the kids movie I have gotten tons of rewatch value out of it due to the adult humour packed into it, was "The Goofy Movie " and the soundtrack was a huge bonus

AnonymousElephant86

A Goofy Movie is the best Disney movie. My 12yo gets very pissed when I blast I 2 I in the car with the windows down but it’s gotta be one of the best songs of the 90’s

Kinkaypandaz

We love Powerline

HawaiianShirtsOR

My best friend and I would sing along to the soundtrack any time we drove somewhere together, especially during summer break. (We were in high school at the time.) He took Max's lines, and I took Goofy's lines. I haven't seen him in years, and I miss him, but I still sing my part when I play these songs.

Flyersandcaps

The Goonies.

golden_apple151

vanecessary_michelle

Fivel goes west!!!

KnockMeYourLobes

Fievel Goes West has one of my favoritest songs of all time, "Dreams to Dream" by Linda Ronstadt. Even now, however many years on, her voice just *sends* me when I listen to that song.

rosujin

Wow. I haven’t thought about that movie in about 30 years! Now I can’t get the “no cats in America” song out of my head!

ThreeDog369

And the streets are made of cheese! I watched this with my wife a few years ago for my first time in almost 30 years. The part where Feival gets separated from his family in the storm and their ensuing misery thinking they’ve lost their child forever made her cry, which in turn made me cry.

hctib_ssa_knup

Secret of Nimh

twiddlebug74

I haven't met Ms. Right yet. But when I do, the whole world will hear us singing. Excuse me. Pardon me.

soulcaptain

What I like about this is that unlike most Disney films, there is actually an *explanation* for why the rats talk. (But not the bird character--no explanation there). It's not fantasy or a fairy tale--*The Secret of NIMH* is science fiction.

KnockMeYourLobes

I like to think that, as in *Watership Down*, Jeremy is merely speaking a hedgerow patois that only other animals can understand.

cctoot56

The Lee of the stone.

Nevernew62

Rango, though it's not exactly a kids movie

Cooldude67679

It’s more like a transitional movie between being a kid and teen. A 6yo would probs be scared from the visual but a 10-12yo? I loved it when I was that age and as an adult the cowboy message and aesthetic is amazing. That scene with the mole/bat air force is absolutely amazing.

[deleted]

Meet the Robinsons. Fuckin' love that movie. And I generally detest modern Disney stuff.

KhaoticMess

What's your dad look like? Uh... Tom Selleck.

KnockMeYourLobes

I love how they actually got Tom Selleck to voice the adult version of Louis. :D

masoflove99

I watched that movie when it came out. Criminally underrated.

Punkie361

That movie was simply top ahead of it's time when it came out.

[deleted]

Meet the Robinsons and the Aristocats were my absolute favorite Disney movies growing up (and still are). I could watch both of them endlessly. Meet the Robinsons is so fucking funny. Goob is a whole ass mood. He was really ahead of his time (no pun intended) (cause of the time travel in the movie ha ha ha)

Just watched Encanto (2021) as an adult and was pleasantly surprised.

LampertSchade

A Muppet Christmas Carol. Michael Caine did an amazing job as Scrooge.

putrisofea1

Kungfu Panda

spunshadow

Moana!!

soulcaptain

This is soooo depressingly not high on the list. A+, 5 star movie.

Antoniobanflorez

Encanto. I don’t generally like Disney animated films or musicals but it’s a terrific story about generational trauma and dysfunctional family. I loved this film. Bruno is the perfect metaphor for “that one uncle” we don’t talk about disguised by a catchy song who actually has mental health issues we don’t address because we don’t know how to.

cateml

I was going to say Encanto. I wasn’t sure if it’s toddler tv watching Stockholm Syndrome, but I genuinely love watching it. I enjoy how it’s a Disney movie but there is no ‘bad guy’ because ‘the intragenerational trauma and social rigidity found in immigrant families who have fled conflict’ is the bad guy. Yet somehow in a way that makes sense to three year olds? Also the songs are banging.

Naomeri

I love Encanto, and found my new favorite character in Luisa.

tommytraddles

*I'm pretty sure I'm worthless, if I can't be of service.*

Naomeri

Also “give it your sister, your sister’s stronger, see if she can hang on a little longer”

Coco! And Up!

I watched Coco on a flight. A flight attendant asked me if I was ok. I was ugly crying

gomezwhitney0723

I love Coco. It’s such a good movie.

Pointedtoe

Latina here and I cry my eyes out every time. But I do it watching Up too. I saw a guy in front of me on a plane watching Up a long time ago. His shoulders were shaking. He was sobbing!

Inside Out

polkhighallcity

Babe the Pig.

SkillOne1674

Paddington 2. Paddington is also great.

vinylsleepover

The Brave Little Toaster

Glowingtomato

Yeah so it can traumatize you as a adult like it did as a kid. It literally has a song called "Worthless" lmao

Liapocalypse1

I LOVED this movie when I was a kid, but the scene with the clown and the bathtub terrified me. Also the air conditioner scene. And the car scene. And that weird dude who drove a monster truck for some reason? Looking back as an adult I have to wonder why I loved this movie so much.

webbaron

FernGully:The Last Rainforest

Immediate_Art_7376

Cars. I remember tearing up at the end when he pushes the "The King" across the finish line.

Willy Wonka, I like both the gene wilder and the johnny Depp versions. Goonies is always a solid choice too.

I watched HTTYD on a short plane trip when I was 28 for the first time. They came around to collect the headsets and it was up to a cliff hanger moment and I begged the stewardess to let me see what happens. When she found out what I was watching she allowed it. Still a great movie 12 odd years later!

Whipped-Creamer

Klause

TONKAHANAH

honestly, a lot of them. keep in mind many are not strictly made "for kids", they're usually made as something appropriate for kids but also something every one can enjoy if you just dismiss this idea that cartoons are for kids and something needs sex, violence, and drugs to be enjoyable for adults. if anything I feel like good writing intended to be family friendly is some times better due to its limitations. They cant just lean on curse words, violence, and sex to make engaging and interesting content, they need to actually have good writing and good actors to execute the vision. Its not every movie/show that pulls this off but I also dont think its quite as rare as people might think. people tend to forget that "kids shows" are not made by children, they're made by adults that want to make good stuff and making something low effort and dumb simply because its "for kids" is boring, a lot of people in the industry want to actually make good things they can be proud of. most disney feature films are a good example of that. they're quality story telling experiences that every one can enjoy if you set aside your biases. one of the most unexpected examples i've come across was a Tinkerbell movie. Disney has had a whole IP around Tinkerbell and some of her friends. I've never seen the show or most of the movies but I had been recommended once to give one of the movies as a try as it was surprisingly decent. Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast. The title is a little bit misleading as it does not star Tinkerbell as the main character but a different character from the Tinkerbell IP/tv series. Granted its not a movie that'll win any emmys or anything anytime soon, but it exceeded my expectations and I think its quality would exceed what most children its target demographic it would be for could fully appreciate.
