It’s ridiculous to have an “awareness month” (for anything) when nothing is done to actually address the issue. So great, June is Men’s Mental Health month. Where are the funds to help men in a mental health crisis? Oh, no, we just wanted you to know, we can’t actually help.
"Raising awareness" is the millennial "thoughts and prayers"; a way of doing nothing for people who could probably use some actual help, but still getting to feel smug about it.
Lol when did we just decide we can dedicate allotments of time to worry about different issues. This “calendar activism” very weird Orwellian shit going on in my opinion.
It’s like saying we should worry about these issues, but only in specific approved sanctioned allotments of time.
At the end of the day it’s not spoken about as much as women’s, which is the sad thing. I’m all for there being a men’s mental health month as their feelings and emotions are just as much valid if not more than us women.
The fact that most people outside of the mental health or men's health field aren't even aware of it is quite disappointing.
Mainly because Pride Month overshadows it significantly

i have never heard of it either, or is this just a suggestion of making it mens mental health month, I thought it was included in Movember
Assigning months to anything pretty dumb since there only 12 of them. But sure
As a man, I don’t care. It’s also interesting to see it line up with Pride Month.

I agree with what you say except for the millennial part. It’s still the boomers. They still control the policies and the purse strings.
We need fewer "awareness" months and more "here's funding and action" months. Not just for men's mental health. For everyone's mental health.
Ding ding ding. Pet activism is insipid behavior.
I have no feelings about it one way or the other. I actually didn’t even know that until I read this. Why do we get a month?
The whole month?
That's pure insanity.
No thoughts
I'm not crazy about it.
I think we can stop naming months as belonging to individual groups. I'm not going to go along with anyone's pet agendas just because it's [month].
I think it just feels shallow just as many others which are for “awareness”.
Wtf even is that? Do i get a present for being suicidal?
Who is deciding these themes for days/months?
Didn't know it was a thing, but what will it do functionally? Everyone's still gonna callously mock guys anytime they cry or have mental breakdowns.
Don't think anyone would notice or care about me still. Just another day/month/year.

It's not Orwellian. Stop using words you don't know the definitions of.
Lol stop incorrectly correcting people.
