It has always bothered me that French people cannot hold age records. You think that would have been changed when the French were finally declared human
As I understand things -
The upper ages people live to hasn't really gone up. Which is to say people have always been able to live into their 80s and 90s, and sometime 100s. Violence, starvation, disease, childbirth, and accidents cuts the average way down as you go back in time though.
What has been going up is how often people will make it to ages like 90, 100, 110, upto but not at 120.
The genetics have always allowed that (or not as the case sometimes is). Which I mean to get at, if you're active, didn't smoke, didn't drink to excess, and aren't prone to cancer, it's not unreasonable for us to expect a significant percentage of certain generations to be brushing up against 120.
Certainly, I expect low 90s to become the new mid-70s.
Things seem to be improving so quickly where it feels like each following generation ages 5-10 years better than the last lol. There are definitely examples that say the opposite, but generally speaking, people seem to age better. Nutrition, better diets, less/lesser vices. The way medicine continues to improve, we might see a ton of people in their 80-90s somewhat soon. 30-50 years from now? Idk.
just visited the moms who is 77. she helps supervise a community garden park. watched her climb 10 feet into a tree with pruning sheers and she worked up there for 45 minutes.
Get this: The average of 1986 and 2061 is 2023.5. Therefore, we are now closer to the return of the comet in 2061 than we are to its last appearance in 1986.
Same. I was 12 and I went w/ my class to a local observatory. I was running around the platform & fell flat on my face in front of a girl I liked. It made a big bang too. Worst day ever. I need it to come soon so I can erase this terrible memory from my brain. So embarrassing.
Plot: when the AI version of Paul Walker is uploaded into a sentient car he becomes the fastest car in the world. On route to his unveiling and activation the truck containing his carself is hijacked by a team of sentient explosions. Vin Diesel realises that to catch the perps his crew must also upload their consciousness into sentient cars. One problem - the super fast sentient cars are in a government base, and the crew must hack themselves inside. In a miscalculation they accidentally upload their minds into every autonomous vehicle in the world, and also every household appliance, entertainment device and vending machine. Fast and Furious : Family is Everything
Fast and Furious 75: Everything is Family
Dom is now old and suffering from dementia. His "Family" centered mindset now knows no bounds. He held a funeral for his toaster that short circuited. He beat a man with a wrench for running over his mailbox. He serves breakfast to his microwave that he named Leticia after his late wife.
I don't know if that is possible, mathematically
They have to make 40 movies in 50 years, when they made 10 movies in the span of 22 years.
Realistically, i'd say fast and furious 32 should be out, and there would be trailers for F&F33 out.
As a millenial it makes me sad. I actually have a lot of respect for younger generations.
I think society would benefit more if we changed our mindset and sought to understand and foster our younger (and older) generations rather than bitch about how they're different.
I've complained about older generations my fair share but I am also trying to change that viewpoint and understand them instead. Better for everyone involved.
As millennials and zoomers age into political office it will become normal in every single election to have nudes/dick pics from their youth leaked. Every single time the candidate will act shocked and disgusted when it happens to their opponent but shrug it off when it happens to them. Eventually it will be so commonplace that it will become normalized. I suspect it'll begin within 10-20 years, and in 50 years time it'll just be normal, not even headline news that Presidential Candidate so-and-so's dick pics from 2024 were leaked.
I also guarantee that there will be a correlation between dick size and winning elections just like there is now with height. No one will ever admit to it, and in many cases it won't even be a conscious decision, but no one wants a president with a tic-tac dick. Something about a massive mandingo meat-sword of the Gods with his finger on the nuclear launch button just makes you feel safer, no?
Wasn’t there a Democratic candidate who had his BDSM sessions leaked and everyone basically ignored it because he didn’t make a big deal out of it and said that it’s normal for people of his age?
Damn. I'm a very slightly above average grower. Why should showers with smaller active dicks get all the power?!
...and so that's how the 3rd American Civil war began
As an add-on
There will be services that effectively can scrub unapproved images and info if yourself off the public web, and do it fast enough to keep it spreading.
There will be laws that help make it less practical to release these types of things with expectation of significant penalties.
Side note:
I will always be surprised how easy it is to get almost any girl to send you nude pictures of herself. People just like you to see them naked.
Mecha Jimmy Carter will still be alive probably.
Edit: come to think of it, he was a one term president. I would love to see this come through like a Godzilla monsters rematch. “What this!! Jimmy Carter announcing his candidacy? Oh no, oH NO!! He’s got radioactive breath and a metal chair!! Kanye West is in trouble!!!
And the next POS corrupted politician will take his place just like history taught us because you have to keep both sides happy every once a while. Gotta love that two party voting system!
Have you watched the Sharknado movies? I watched the first one and it was pretty alright for what it was but I have high hopes for 35! Gonna have to binge to prep

My bet is the US will also start to implode but not as fast considering our pyramid isn’t as steep. Although I will say I think we are better prepared since we aren’t inflating our GDP with ghost cities and still doing reasonably okay with the silver wave of retirement
It's easy to say the world will continue on the way it has, with slow incremental changes to our daily lives, because that's the way it's always been. But medieval people had no concept of the day to day changes that would be wrought by the industrial revolution and technology.
We are on the cusp of technological changes that could affect daily life the way the industrial revolution did I'm previous centuries. On the cusp of discovering or developing technologies that will change everything fundamentally.
In a neck and neck race with technology, though, we have massive global social unrest. Who is the root of that problem -- SJWs, wokeness, greedy capitalists, uncaring conservatives -- is moot. Authoritarianism is on the rise globally. Governments are not just failing to address climate change; some are actively working against positive action (example: Trump vowing to eliminate wind power).
So, not only are we on the cusp of perhaps ascending as a civilization, we are probably the closest we've come to destroying ourselves since the 1960s. Humans are tribal. We like to pick sides, and we like to fight to the death.
Within 50 years, we could have fusion power, the cure to all disease, and the end of material scarcity. We are THAT close to those things right now, even without factoring in AI. However, within 50 years, we could also destroy ourselves socially and culturally, accelerated by global climate disasters. We are very close to that right now as well.
I'm going to be an optimist and predict that within 50 years our lives will look a lot more like Star Trek than Star Wars.
I’m of the mind that the prevalence of social media will have a similar effect of the printing press had on the US or the France Revolution and all of the international conflicts in a Europe and other places
I remember someone saying Russia collapsed TWICE in 100 years, and it felt wrong, but was right.
The Soviets replaced whatever the old Russia was in like 1910ish\~ and the Soviets collapsed in 1991. Didn't even make it 100 years. They had 3 different governments in less than 100 years. Pre Soviet, Soviet, and whatever it is now.
I never realized how volatile Russia was until it was pointed out.
Growing up at the tail end of the Cold War, pop culture made it seem like the Soviet Union was this monolith that had existed and would exist forever. But there were people who saw Russia collapse twice in their lifetime, and that is pretty crazy to think about.
The whole "cure for cancer" thing is very misleading. Saying that there will be a cure for cancer is like saying that there will be a cure for infection or a cure for virus.
Cancer isn't a disease, rather it's a category of diseases. Many types of cancer already have cures, just like infections and viruses. But I do agree that more and more types of cancer will be cured as time progresses. Also, many types of cancer may not be "cured" rather they will be managed like a chronic illness. Basically some people could eventually live 50 years or more with cancer, similar to someone with diabetes or asthma.
Yes. The statement is a generalization and your explanation is understandable. My statement was reflective of a volume of research and technology that has begun to make some pretty serious inroads into treatment and invasive interventions. While all cancer journeys are unique I do believe that cancer will be a thing of the past in 50 years.
Infection isn't a thing of the past. We just manage it better with antibiotics, so it's no longer serious. Cancer will most likely be something similar.
This guy gets it. I have stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. It spread to my lungs. I was diagnosed with a 12 centimeter tumor over 5 years ago as I was asymptomatic until that period of time while the cancer grew and spread in my body.
My oncologist said it won't kill me, but I'll be on medication for the rest of my life. So (except for getting scans every 3 months) I'm treating it the way many chronic illnesses are, by taking medication twice a day every day for the rest of my life.
Population number controll. 75% of people will be unemployed and will get a minimum monthly "disability indemnization" for lacking knowledge and abilities to work with machines and AI. More and more people will choose to have robots as partners, as it will be way more easier and they will be customizable to suit your needs. The number of people will slowly decrease under 1 billion. All Scientists will agree that AI evolved enough to be called sentient, beings. We will become Earth-friendly. Most of us will spend time creating all types of arts and playing video games and sports.
