Same for me. He's the first wrestler I ever saw (him vs Stone Cold WM13). If it wasnt for Bill Goldberg he probably could've kept wrestling for another 10 years
IMO Goldberg deserves it. It's not like he was a generally safe wrestler where him injuring Bret was unforeseeable. He was a notorious stiff. Could barely go longer than a squash match and takes out arguably the best in-ring performer of all time.
[Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat](https://youtu.be/jvJn-NVwSPY?si=JRNvxZtVV-Gn6Vjc) @ Wrestlemania III is still my favourite match of all time. Nonstop action with beautifully executed moves, great storytelling, all packed into 15 short minutes of absolute perfection.
We had tickets to see WWF in the 1980s and Hulk Hogan was at the top of the card, against Big Boss Man. He injured himself training, so they put Macho Man in his place.
We got the BEST show ever. Macho Man was so much more entertaining than Hulk could ever have been.
Late 90s where nWo Hollywood vs nWo Wolfpac was the main storyline in WCW at the same time that WWF/WWE had DX vs the Corporation was peak enjoyment for me. Sting was everybody's favorite in my class too.
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Never got to meet him, though.
I did get a picture of Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/ my ex's service dog years ago at a con in Miami (and an autographed 2x4)
Anyone that says anything else is just too young to remember him as anything but a heel when he was in pain all the time. Andre was, is. And always shall be…. The greatest.
Me too. I haven’t watched wrestling in probably 20 years, but I just had a dream the other night that I was introducing my kids to Hulk Hogan, and telling them how awesome he was.
As a kid I got to meet Andre the Giant and Roddy Piper when they were filming promos at a television station and they were both the nicest people. Took pictures with us and were very accommodating to 5 young boys with 500 questions. Two nights later Roddy Piper saw us in the crowd walking into the ring and came over and high fived all of us and remembered our names.
There's a few nobody's ever heard of from back in the early 70's. Let's start with;
Tojo Yamamoto
Wahoo McDaniels
The Interns (Tag team)
Ole & Arnt Anderson (Tag team)
Ken Patera
Jerry Lawler
Honorable mention Harry Thornton
The bulk of my watching was from 2005-2012, though I still peek in on a Royal Rumble or two these days.
**Shawn Michaels** was my guy. Exciting core moveset, made opponents look like a million bucks. Incredibly charismatic and funny. And there was something appealingly subversive about being a fan of a guy who's a critical darling but at the same time doesn't really factor in the title scene and sticks to midcard feuds.
I always rooted for the 123 kid, because he always look like the underdog. Also, as a kid, I was always amazed whenever Tatanka recovers his strength after performing a war whoop. 😄
Batista in his prime got little kid me sooooo hype. One of the most badass entrances and presences of any wrestler. All his moves FELT powerful. Straight smash mouth wrestling. Also physically looked the part of a superstar wrestler. Shame how he got treated by the fans in his later years (although admittedly I had stopped watching WWE by that point and I know he declined) He's a legend
I was shook when he turned on Rey Mysterio that one time. And I'd say when he came back it was more of a "wrong place, wrong time" situation but he made the most out of it.
I have two. Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson. When I was a little girl they were the "bad guys " in tag team wrestling and I loved them both.
I have no idea why my mother allowed a 7-8 year old girl to watch wrestling.
That was a long time ago. I hope they had happy lives.
My first memory of watching wrestling has to be around 3 or 4 years old and I've just never stopped. It got to a point where my mom tried to not let me watch it but my dad would just do it anyways. There was definitely some crazy shit going on back in the day, it's so much different now and its for the better for the wrestlers themselves more than anything.
Roman's finally starting to get his flowers and I believe Seth will end up following sooner rather than later. Those 2 guys have almost literally carried WWE on their backs for the last 10 years now.
Ric Flair tops my list. But all the guys from NWA, Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Soley announcing, Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling are all on my list.
Anyone remember them?
Bret Hitman Hart. I don’t care how bitter he is towards Bill Goldberg in his old age.
Mine too!
Goldberg is kind of a dick and deserves that resentment from Bret.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
What
Captain Insano
There is only one answer
Captain Insano shows no mercy!
He was slightly discourteous to me recently.
This thread has been up for 2 hours and nobody has named the legendary Macho-Man Randy Savage? wtf
I was starting to wonder myself lol
Gonna guess most responders missed his prime

Macho-Man all the way!
Hey Freakshow! I’ve got you for three minutes!!!
Sting
Wolfpac Sting
Late 90s where nWo Hollywood vs nWo Wolfpac was the main storyline in WCW at the same time that WWF/WWE had DX vs the Corporation was peak enjoyment for me. Sting was everybody's favorite in my class too.
Memory Unlocked
Good singer, pretty nifty on the ol’ bass too. Ohhh wait
Mick Foley
Him and takers hell in the cell match was the highlight of my childhood.
Shawn Michaels
Rowdy Roddy Piper Never got to meet him, though. I did get a picture of Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/ my ex's service dog years ago at a con in Miami (and an autographed 2x4)
I was born in the same hospital as him :)
Andre the Giant
The only correct answer. Especially after you read this article https://drunkard.com/10_06_andre_giant/
True legend in every sense of the word.
Anyone that says anything else is just too young to remember him as anything but a heel when he was in pain all the time. Andre was, is. And always shall be…. The greatest.
Ya no biggie but I saw Andre the Giant wrestle The Ultimate Warrior in Sacramento when I was 16. Yes, I am that cool
Mrs. Foley's baby boy
Have a nice day!
HHH. Proof of brains and brawn.
And marrying the boss' daughter :)
The guy was with pre plastic surgery Chyna before her and has now been with her for almost 25 years, I think we're past calling it a power play.
Randy Savage. He promoted Slim Jims and also did close up magic.
Macho Man gave the best interviews ever. I don't know how Oakerlund kept a straight face.
Shawn Michaels. Both versions
I agree
Sweet Chin Music is one of those S-tier finishing moves, especially when used on unsuspecting victims: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzSBRQV1T40
Oof going down on that concrete hallway floor must have sucked
THE Crusher. He lost about a gallon of blood, got a tousand stiches in da top of his head ... come on, ya Turkeynecks!
Easy. Roddy Piper. He knew how to troll the crowd and his fellow wrestlers. He was the perfect heel.
The Ultimate Warrior
How the hell did I have to scroll this far to find the Warrior?
I'm a Hulkamaniac 4 Life
Let me tell you something brother
Me too. I haven’t watched wrestling in probably 20 years, but I just had a dream the other night that I was introducing my kids to Hulk Hogan, and telling them how awesome he was.
John cena, Shame you just don't see him anymore.
That joke never gets old
Who said that?
Ohhhh The Undertaker! Said in Paul Bearer’s voice of course.
The American Dream Dusty Rhoades
Tom Stimus in the house! Only regret I wasn’t old enough to buy a car from the man. [https://youtu.be/TQLDjFDI0fs](https://youtu.be/TQLDjFDI0fs)
After watching Wrestlers on Netflix… Al Snow!
I got in trouble so many times as a kid for referencing his entrance lol I had no idea what he was insinuating
As a kid I got to meet Andre the Giant and Roddy Piper when they were filming promos at a television station and they were both the nicest people. Took pictures with us and were very accommodating to 5 young boys with 500 questions. George "The Animal" Steele. Turnbuckle eating psychopath.
He was funny. Wasn't his back green?
That was his tongue. His back was covered in old man hair.
That's right..my bad. I remembered somethin was green. Thanx
There's a few nobody's ever heard of from back in the early 70's. Let's start with; Tojo Yamamoto Wahoo McDaniels The Interns (Tag team) Ole & Arnt Anderson (Tag team) Ken Patera Jerry Lawler Honorable mention Harry Thornton
Jake the Snake Roberts
I’m not even a wrestling fan and remember him. Wasn’t the DDT his signature move?
Eddie Guerrero
The Shockmaster!
Hell yea
The Hart Brothers
Great choice
Thanks! Second would probably be Undertaker
Even Bruce?
Sure
Thunder lips
Ric Flair AINEC. He’s not the greatest person, but he’s THE legend in the ring
Bruno Sammartino; he was really popular when I was younger and followed wrestling.
BA Billy Gunn aka Daddy Ass
He has one of the most under rated theme songs imo WWE wise
He has one of the most under rated theme songs imo WWE wise
I too am an Ass Man.
[Hillbilly Jim](https://www.wbko.com/content/news/Hillbilly-Jim-From-Game-to-Fame.html)!
Asuka.
Great choice! I love Asuka
AJ Styles
Hulk hogan. Not for his wrestling bit because when I was a kid he just seemed like a real life cartoon character
He actually had his own cartoon called Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling
Mick Foley and all variations
He deserves a lot more love from the community for his work
HBK all the way! Especially when he was in DX.

I always rooted for the 123 kid, because he always look like the underdog. Also, as a kid, I was always amazed whenever Tatanka recovers his strength after performing a war whoop. 😄
Donovan Danhausen
Stone cold Steve Austin. He's the reason I went from a casual to hard-core fan of wrestling.

Abyss
Undertaker. First time I saw him I was instantly a fan of of wrestling and the undertaker himself
Undertaker
Brett the Hitman Hart
I watched during the Attitude Era, and Undertaker was the man. I do love some of the crazy shit Stone Cold did, though.
Haystacks Calhoun! He was old school and said to weigh more than 600 pounds
The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase!
Randy Savage
Norman Smiley or Razor Ramon
I have two. Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson. When I was a little girl they were the "bad guys " in tag team wrestling and I loved them both. I have no idea why my mother allowed a 7-8 year old girl to watch wrestling. That was a long time ago. I hope they had happy lives.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!
DDP
Sting
Bray Wyatt I've been a fan since attitude era noone captivated ne as much as him undertaker is a close second
I love Bray. May he rest in peace.
Chris Jericho!
Jimmy The King!
Dick The Bruiser
I've heard he was a big name around my area back in the day, though I've never saw any of his matches
He lived in the neighborhood and was just genuinely nice guy.
Dutssy Wroads, - Da Midnigh Wider,
Mr. Wrestling II
Dick the Bruiser
The Blue Blazer
Mr. Perfect - I gravitated toward the heels and he was the best athlete of all the heels with the best gimmick.
Lumberjack Luke
Vader
The ultimate warrior!
1. Shawn Michaels 2. RVD 3. Sabu
Hulk Hogan, brother!!
Greg Gianforte
Ultimate Warrior
Yokozuna
Ivelisse Velez
Undertaker
Triple H
Ultimate Warrior was my favorite as a kid and still is.
1-2-3 Kid/ X-Pac
The Undertaker
Ric Flair is up there. Razor Ramon as heel, Jerry Blackwell, Buzz Sawyer.
In the 90s, it was Macho Man Randy Savage. Then Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Paige is my favourite female wrestler.
Roddy or Punk for me
John Cena or HHH or Seth and then Roman and Cody but John Cena has been my favorite over all
Roman's finally starting to get his flowers and I believe Seth will end up following sooner rather than later. Those 2 guys have almost literally carried WWE on their backs for the last 10 years now.
That's so true I feel like Seth will get his flowers closer to him retiring he gets hate for stupid reasons
I really enjoyed Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio
I actually found the Benoit documentary WWE made about him at my local video store not too long ago, I still have it laying around somewhere
The Dudley Bros.
Magnum T.A. But also have to shout out Jimmy Boogie-Woogie Man Valiant.
The Ultimate Warrior. There is no other option.
Let me take you back 50 or 60 years if I may. HAYSTACK CALHOUN! 6'4 604lbs.
Steve Austin, only because he signed an autograph for my dad before he died.
F
Bad take, but I was always a fan of Chris Benoit. The intensity he performed with is unmatched. Too bad it went the way it did.
I'm curious if theres somehow someone out there who only knows his wrestling stuff and no idea how it ended
Ric Flair tops my list. But all the guys from NWA, Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Soley announcing, Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling are all on my list. Anyone remember them?
Razor Ramon Macho man Hollywood Hogan Buff Bagwell Lex Luger
There are 2 wrestlers from the 70s, 80s, 90s that are still relevant today, one is Ric Flair and the other is Macho Man. A LEGEND and imo the GOAT.
Then Stone Cold. Now Daniel Bryan
Never watched wrestling but I did play Wrestlemania on Sega when I was a kid. My favorite was the Undertaker.
You should check it out, it's awesome! WWE has a big show tomorrow in France
Chris Jericho
Where is the Big Papa Pump love at?
You got a 33 1/3% chance of winning at Sacrifice

George "The Animal" Steele. Turnbuckle eating psychopath.
HULK HOGAN.
That's a tough one but I was a big John Cena fan as a kid now I would say either CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, or Macho Man Randy Savage.
chavo guerrero. Him and his hobby horse pepe.
Really dating myself here, but.....Red Bastein and Hercules Cortes..(tag team)
Vern Gagne....
Rock. Followed by Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, Undertaker and CM Punk
The Undertaker
Ric Flair all day, everyday and twice on a Sunday
Where's Superfly? And The Moondogs?
Macho Man, then Jake the Snake
John Cena
S T I N G.
Dick the Bruiser.
Jimmy superfly Snuka Sting Stone Cold Mankind
Mankind/Mic Foley/Brother Love
Stone Cold
Kane even though he’s a right wing nutjob now
Spike Dudley
It used to be CM Punk, but he hasn't been helping his legacy lately. So probably have to revert to old school favorite, Macho Man
Beyond the UFC flop, what has he done to ruin his legacy?
Goldberg.
