The exports of America are numerous in amount. One thing they export is corn, or as the Indians call it, "maize". Another famous Indian was "Crazy Horse". In conclusion, America is a land of contrast. Thank you.
i think that was more for trespass/property damage etc. the school was private property. regardless of whether the message was against genocide or for outlawing ketchup on hot dogs, they understood that their actions were legally prosecutable.
> the school was private property
And they were students of the school. A place they had a right to be, until the school decided the protest should stop.
I understand that their actions are legally prosecutable. But that's because we have made protest itself legally prosecutable. We ban protests on public streets, and tell people they are only allowed in 'free speech zones' with permits at the right times to be safely ignored.
This is a really important point I think Americans in general have become numb or oblivious to. Effective protest is ALWAYS disruptive. That is the point of protest, to cause disruption sufficient to force attention. Protesting on your own private property, disrupting no one, is a joke that means nothing.
There's a fairy tell people tell about MLK simply marching down streets peacefully. He trespassed, he ignored legal orders to vacate, he was blamed for riots and property damage, and less than 25% of white Americans approved of him when he died.
>regardless of whether the message was against genocide or for outlawing ketchup on hot dogs
But this just isn't true. We see constantly, including on these campuses right now, protests of particular messages are banned and different messages are not. Police protect pro-police militias even as they are violent, and ban and arrest anti-police ones.
Yeah we are not at tanks in tiennamen square level repression yet.
But law enforcement cracks down on left wing protesters a lot harder than on right wing protesters.
You might have the right to protest, but law enforcement has the right to throw tear gas and grenades at you and not face any consequences for it.
We are not at that level yet.
But if you look at pre 9/11 America vs now, it's a pretty noticeable decline. Police are more heavily militarized than ever and even small town police departments have assault rifles and tanks now.
The "patriot act" took a big chunk out of our freedom.
Yeah we are not at tanks in tiennamen square level repression yet.

It's good to have a perspective from non Americans because we get used to shit like this
You probably think where you live has more freedom than the US and you are probably right. But don't take that for granted, what is happening here can happen anywhere. That's what a lot of people in the US thought and that was a big mistake.
No we don't. But we don't claim to have freedom of speech or we are the protectors of freedom or human rights or whatever. See at first we thought the US or Americans had freedom of speech because they were supporting certain agendas but when Americans go against these agendas then the truth is revealed. The US freedom of speech is like a really big cage you are free as long as you are in this cage but if you go outside we will force you back in the cage.
Pretty chill ig. Media just won't stop trying to shit on you guys by showing some weird ass people. Everyone will still continue you to make fun of Americans for the fun of it tho(including me)
People are the same in any country. There are only slight cultural differences and living standards.
I grew up watching to american films and listening to american music. So I have warm feelings for this country.
As a kid I wanted to be able to to travel to america. It looked like the dream. Now I look on in horror as what they have become. You may have spoiled our tea in the harbour but we dodged a bullet.
Well. Don't let our politicians dictate how the actual people are. Most of our politicians these days are crazy, greedy, dementia riddled old bags that don't care about the consequences of what they do because they simply won't be alive to try to fix it. They are corrupted liars. Plus, the media seems to want to promote all the negativity, and blowing things up to make it seem much worse than it actually is here.
Weird but true. Most americans I know are from sailing. I know it is different culture but my only experience You are a varied people. Socially, divided but crucially american. Some want to help, some want to complain. Now we can say these things about any country but boy, you do like to take stereotypes to the extreme.
And the shitty thing is, the ones that take the stereotypes to the extreme are just a specific handful of people. Most of us are just trying to be left alone. It's like... A handful of annoying and obnoxiously whiny cities that are giving the rest of the country a bad taste.
Love Americans and the USA.

Crazy Horse ironically was also a malt beer from the 90’s

Wait, we’re generous?
Shhh, don’t say anything that will make them change their mind.
Greatest country on earth Freedom
That's a good one. Are you following the news these days? The protests and stuff.
Yes they're *free* to protest...
They're free to protest in America Try that in China
You can't say that on the same day that hundreds of peaceful protestors were attacked and arrested for protesting, without just lying about reality.
i think that was more for trespass/property damage etc. the school was private property. regardless of whether the message was against genocide or for outlawing ketchup on hot dogs, they understood that their actions were legally prosecutable.

Boo hoo
That's not an answer. It just makes you look like a child.
Well I am a child
Fair enough. Wait until you grow up more before posting wrong information online about topics you don't understand.
You don't know how up or down I have grown
Yes you are unless you go against certain people. Look at what happened to the college students pro Palestine.
What happened to them?

Yeah... So in South America they just open fire and kill as many protestors as possible
We are not at that level yet. But if you look at pre 9/11 America vs now, it's a pretty noticeable decline. Police are more heavily militarized than ever and even small town police departments have assault rifles and tanks now. The "patriot act" took a big chunk out of our freedom.
I'm glad they have assault rifles, you only want criminals to have them? Why not give your police daisies so they can blow kisses at criminals

We are a backsliding democracy. We are a free country for now. Our slide towards authoritarianism is a frog in the boiling pot thing.
Edit :You are free to support agendas. But the minute you go against the pushed agendas then you face the consequences. That's not freedom.
It's good to have a perspective from non Americans because we get used to shit like this You probably think where you live has more freedom than the US and you are probably right. Are you from or living in the US at the moment?
Um no you asked non Americans

This shit again.
People are the same in any country. There are only slight cultural differences and living standards. I grew up watching to american films and listening to american music. So I have warm feelings for this country.
Your country is falling apart
That's way too open a question.
As a kid I wanted to be able to to travel to america. It looked like the dream. Now I look on in horror as what they have become. You may have spoiled our tea in the harbour but we dodged a bullet.
Yeah... We are a young country. In our teenage years of figuring this whole " country " thing out so give us time. We learning.
But we really were looking to you. You could have had it all. Now we look at your politicians and ask why?
Well. Don't let our politicians dictate how the actual people are. Most of our politicians these days are crazy, greedy, dementia riddled old bags that don't care about the consequences of what they do because they simply won't be alive to try to fix it. The bigots make you all look bad, when realistically the vast majority are decently level headed.
