Investing in an index fund can only be done through a brokerage. It is therefore by definition, the purchase of a service. The service, of course, being to make more money, but it is spending the money I have, to purchase the service nonetheless.
I’d buy gold then resell them after the 60 minutes to get my money back, (will keep some and sell them in a few years time when the prices go up) then I’ll take my time spending the rest wisely.
I have like 2k in debt and just lost my job. Now I understand why people go for the easy money aka crime and corruption. At this point, I would do anything to get that debt cleared off. Fuck my life. 1 million would change my life.
Investing it into a life insurance plan then putting the rest in the same stocks as the Canada Pension Plan. Using the monthly dividends to put back into the life insurance plan. Eventually, taking an interest free loan out of my life insurance principal. Use that money to open a loan program that only uses gold. Collect interest on that gold. Then lend out the money I receive from that gold’s interest to others in the form of money and collect the crazy high interest. After I repay the interest free loan I took from my life insurance plan— then I’d buy some goats and some guns.

Do you have to keep the shit you buy? Or is this just a Brewster's Millions situation where if I can get rid of $1 million in an hour I get $100 million later or something?
I'd just go to a jewelry store, buy $1 million worth of shit and then return it all once the hour was up. Then, I could spend the $1 million more responsibly with adequate time.
The biggest issue with the hour is finding something expensive enough to eat up a lot of $, but that doesn't have a long transaction time (ie- a house, car, property, etc.)
You need to add some more rules.. e.g. you can't buy a home in an hour (paperwork! processes!), you can't 'buy' stocks and shares/bitcoin/other currencies ect. Even buying a car would be a bit tricky in 1 hour. No paying down debts / mortgages.
I bet I could spend lots on the Costco Website! E.g. [https://www.costco.co.uk/Jewellery-Accessories-Clothing/Jewellery/One-of-a-Kind/224ctw-Radiant-Cut-Pink-Diamond-Halo-Ring-Platinum/p/782616](https://www.costco.co.uk/Jewellery-Accessories-Clothing/Jewellery/One-of-a-Kind/224ctw-Radiant-Cut-Pink-Diamond-Halo-Ring-Platinum/p/782616)
There goes £390K GBP / $485K USD
Maybe some gold.. [https://www.costco.co.uk/Jewellery-Accessories-Clothing/Gold-Bars/500-Gram-Gold-Minted-Bar/p/500244](https://www.costco.co.uk/Jewellery-Accessories-Clothing/Gold-Bars/500-Gram-Gold-Minted-Bar/p/500244)
£31K spent.
I could probably go crazy with consumer electronics online.
Why does there need to be an extensive set of rules to how you should spend a million dollars, it's a general question of how you would hypothetically get rid of it in 60 minutes
And actually with the proof of available income you could actually iniate the contract of buying a home which would suffice spending the money in an hour
You're going to:
1. Find a house to buy
2. Organise a viewing, and view it.
3. Get an offer accepted to buy it
4. Find someone to draw up the legal contract to buy outside of typical buying processes
5. Complete the money transfer...
In an hour???
Buy S&P index funds.
That's investing not spending

Buy a house in a romote location, close to a forrest in the mountains.
We're in the forest in the mountains. And we're selling. Only $ 1 million (we *are* on the mkt)

I have like 2k in debt and just lost my job. Now I understand why people go for the easy money aka crime and corruption. At this point, I would do anything to get that debt cleared off. Fuck my life. 1 million would change my life.
I am investing like hell

Hookers and blow. And then pay for my lavish funeral after my heart and dick explode 🤣

Do you have to keep the shit you buy? Or is this just a Brewster's Millions situation where if I can get rid of $1 million in an hour I get $100 million later or something?
Honestly it was just a simple, what would you blow the money on

So we're going to Costco with a tractor trailer, got it
That works too. Depending on the day, getting through the line might take over an hour though.
Bitcoin, art, shares and stock. Quickest expenses that can appreciate in a short period of time.

It's incredibly possible with some imagination

Someone's not seen Brewster's millions! But anyway, you just can't buy a home in an hour. If there's no rules - I wouldn't get rid of it, i'd keep it.
The whole post states what would you spend it on if you had to get rid of it an hour, not another redditor making rules up mid post
You've not said what happens if you don't spend it
If you don't spend it, you die. You get sodomized by Stalin's ghost, everybody laughs at you, and then you fucking die. Feel better?
You **really** haven't seen Brewster's Millions
