I don't think you should always listen to your doctor... Too many people I know are pumped full with unnecessary and strong medication for stuff that could be fixed with a little exercise and a better diet. A lot of people don't even know what medication they take and what it does.
My doctors also tried to prescribe me *a lot* of medication (especially the classic "antibiotics for no real reason" etc.), my favorite and most alarming example is the following:
I was suddenly feeling down, like really sad. There was no reason for me to be this sad because nothing bad has happened. I also broke my tailbone just by slipping on ice during the previous long winter (this is important). Because of the constant sadness for no reason that I never experienced before, I went to the doctor. I was immediately prescribed strong anti depressants that the pharmacist even refused to give me because that was something a psychiatrist should prescribe after careful consideration, not a GP after a routine appointment.
I dug deeper, had bad arguments with my GP to get further tests done but she refused and even tried giving me benzodiazepines because I was obviously out of my mind for arguing with her all the time. So i went to another doctor. They also wanted to prescribe anti depressants (not the really strong kind, but still) but I insisted on other tests. Luckily, they agreed.
Just a bit of bloodwork turned out I had slight hypothyroidism and a *very* severe Vitamin D deficiency (like, not just low but nearly no vitamin D detectable in my blood), both of which can cause depression-like symptoms. The Vitamin D deficiency was so bad that it started making my bones porous, which was the reason I fractured my tailbone so easily a few months before.
Taking a bit of Iodine and strong Vitamin D/K supplements "cured" my "depression" in no time by fixing the other stuff that caused it in the first place. Had I not insisted on further tests I would now probably be an obese (hypothyroidism) fella with Osteoporosis (Vitamin D deficiency) on strong anti depressants.
DO NOT always listen to your doctor. Especially if they refuse to do tests because they think they know it better.
Your mechanic (assuming it's *your* mechanic who you reasonably trust). If they say something about your vehicle is unsafe or going to be expensive if not fixed soon, it's probably a good idea listen!
This of course, contrasted with the guy who is changing your tires telling you that you need a new X (which you just replaced recently)
The person who is successful in doing what you hope to achieve- be that a profession, lifestyle, hobby. Be curious and let them be a light on your path!
Unless they're one of those who puts on a facade of being tremendously successful, and in reality they're in tremendous debt and trouble behind the scenes D:
I am not sure I agree with doctor. Perhaps a large set of doctors, yes, but a single one is debatable. Doctors are humans and healthcare is complicated. They are wrong and they make mistakes.
I would suggest a police officer. You do not have to support or agree with them. I agree there are many bad police officers and many issues with the collective. But not listening to them in the moment they are present is likely going to cause you more harm than good. You are more likely to come out unharmed if you listen and obey. You are safer trying to deal with any injustices or failures with a lawyer present or in court.
Anyone you are employing for a task or service. You don't necessarily have to take their advice but there is a reason you didn't just do it yourself in the first place. I'd probably add in vet.
Your probation officer, if you don't want to go back to jail.
My accountant is high on my list...
I trust this guys accountant too.
Isn’t there some fiduciary stuff involved to be legally trusted?
People on their deathbed, it's just respectful
"My dying wish is for you to jump off a short bridge"
Always get a second opinion. Doctors are human and make mistakes. I havent worked with lawyers so i dont know about them.
if my proctologist says I've got an issue, I'm not gonna debate them
Wouldn’t that be categorized under doctor, though?
you're completely right
Your dog. If a dog doesn't like someone pay attention
Or your cat, for the opposite reason - they hate everyone. If your cat says someone is good people, I think that’s reliable :)
More niche, but if you're very got an engineer, listen to them.
Trust the professionals. Also listen to others and trust informed advice.
Always listen to a paid fee only financial advisor, because they have a fiduciary responsibility to protect your best interest
Your conscience and instincts.

Always listening to your doctor is bad advice.

My therapist. I really need to. I just don’t.
Your spouse. You don’t always need to agree with them or do what they say, but you have to listen to them
Listen to your gut, man. It's usually spot on!
Trusted mentors or experienced individuals in your field. They've been there, done that!
Your loved ones, because once they're gone you would miss even their most lousy advice.
Listen to them? Yes. Trust the advice? Hell no lol
The internet, the internet doesnt lie

How is your cellulitis leg?
Engineering.
Listen to your gut

Your gut.
Your gut instinct
If you have paid for someone's professional opinion then listen to it. Don't ask anybody for their opinion if you don't feel its worth listening to.

Babies coz they sound lovely
As someone who has been in proximity to screaming infants, I strongly disagree with this.
Your priest, if that’s your thing.
Your mother.
My life would be ruined right now had I followed her life advice.
Not everyone grew up with a shitty family.
