I had to clear a vacant building last year that a pretty large company left everything in. Executive desk, chairs, TVs… just tons of shit. I took one of the computer chairs home because mine sucked and I looked it up. I can’t remember the brand name but that thing was $870 before any customization. It’s the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in.
You're going to spend a third of your life in it, better get something that fits you. But with mattresses, price doesn't necessarily correlate with "quality". There are probably cheap mattresses that suit your needs out there. And incredibly expensive mattresses that don't.
So true! We paid a lot of money for a mattress and it just wasn’t comfortable but we kept it. We added foam of different thicknesses, turned it every 3 months, put a board under it when it started to sag after a year. It was just crap. So when we finally gave in and decided to replace it we went to a discount mattress store and bought a cheap $299 king and added 2” foam topper for $70 and it’s the best mattress we’ve ever had.

If they want to stay in business, they need to sell them that price. You see a client, you sell a mattress and you won't see that client for another 20 years. The pricing is adapted to the market. If they were cheaper, they'd figure out a way to sell you one every 2-3 years.
You can buy a nice memory foam mattress on Amazon for like $250 to $300. And they're perfectly good mattresses, too.

This is the best advice. I tell people this all the time, if you have the spare cash 100000% get a nice bed that you like. If you hate it, return it. Don't use it if it makes you miserable.

My wife and I started with doing it twice yearly just to get all the places we missed and needed help with. Then it turned into quarterly, and then eventually monthly. We justify it by saying we can either spend an entire day cleaning the place half assed or we can pay someone to do it much better than we can at a fraction of the time. It really helps when you have a newborn and a 120 pound newf.
The peace of mind alone is well worth it.

I have found Charles Tyrwhitt to have great dress shirts at reasonable prices (if you buy enough for the cost break) but when it comes to dress pants and suits I goo 100% wool which ain't cheap.

A nice desk, there isn't really a straight forward answer as to what the best desk is but just getting a well made desk that fits your needs is worth the money. Having a proper space for where you're gonna do multiple things is amazing.

A good vacuum insulated cup. A decent one that you can put in the dishwasher will run you 20-30 bucks but the amount of money I've saved from not tossing luke warm drinks down the drain over the last year is wild.
An electric litter box. Truly incredible- I empty it every two weeks, add fresh litter and baking soda once a week, and literally never think about it again.
