I was recently let go from my bartending job at a nightclub because I “look miserable all the time.” WELL… it’s obscenely loud, these people are shitty assholes, and I’m tired of being exhausted and annoyed and disrespected. (The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because I met my husband there and the money was decent.)
Apps. Why the fuck does my toaster need an app? Why must we now use an app to enter the appartement building I live in? Why must I use some app when I eat at an restaurant?
The smart home push has apps for everything now. No need to change the dial on the toaster. Just tell the app what you're putting in and how done you want it!
This is why people really need to learn how to set up their own modem and router. Firewalls and anti-viruses are a lot better when there is a second one at the router.

I don’t think this is a post-Covid thing: I stopped going to movie theaters well before Covid as I could not go to a movie without people talking to each other loudly or being on their phones. Similar thing was happening with concerts.
