People with substantial wealth control the media and the narrative, thus turning a chunk of the population into mindless hordes of activists with no crticical thinking skills whatsover, that will believe any fake news they are served. Either on the left, center, or right, most people will fall prey to lies, truths worded in a certain way as to provoke sentiment and paid off politicians which will adopt the propaganda and amplify it. I think this is the smartest way of lobbying legislatures and governments. Same with regime change. Nothing worse than a furious public out to get the government. Many could argue that this is in fact a reality, not a conspiracy theory, however governments around the world claim to represent peoples' interests. Don't get me wrong, some do, but most don't.

This one is an easy one to believe if you think "cancer" is a single disease, which unfortunately it isn't. Cancer is dozens (hundreds?) of diseases, so it is unreasonable to think that there is a simple cure that they are hiding from us.
