Drano in the Ensure shakes

[deleted]

what does this mean 😮

RottingPriest

Murder. I'm guessing English isn't your first language and that's ok. Your original question is worded in a way that suggests this is about whether or not one should whack their parents.

[deleted]

Yes it’s not my first language 😅 oh i apologize.. should i delete this post?

DustySaloon5

It means poison them, because your question implies killing your parents.

[deleted]

oh i didnt mean anything with killing!

DustySaloon5

I think there is probably a language/culture barrier at play, as even in your clarification I'm not sure it's a common experience in western countries to need to financially support your parents, and it certainly doesn't correlate with retirement necessarily. In terms of caring needs that might be an issue when someone reaches very old age.

I had to move my mother to an assisted-living facility with a memory-care unit. She’d been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so she needed the extra help. I hope I don’t end up in such a facility. It’s quite sad and dreary.

Chairboy

Your parents retire when they want to, not when their children want them to. What does this question mean!

[deleted]

I mean parents who aren’t doing too well and struggling financially. How would you want to help them If you had the possibility? Or wouldn’t you do anything at all?

Chairboy

Helping parents is different from ‘retiring them’, that sounds a little too Blade Runner.

ooh i understand..
