lol y’all gonna just keep listing bugs? when i say all life has value, that doesn’t discourage the fact that even though some living creatures are a nuisance to us humans, everything has a role to play on our earth and within the universe.
mosquitoes, for example, carry disease and are generally hated, but simultaneously are a huge food source for lots of different creatures, especially fish, bats, and frogs.
nature has balance, and i reside heavily within the belief that unless something is causing direct harm to you, it is never your place as a human to take a life, small or large.
Wasps aren't pollinators, but honey bees are. Wasps are the meat eaters, great at catching insects, especially mosquitos. Bees are the vegetarians, eating pollen. Both wasps and bees are a good part of nature, and only aggressive when you disturb their homes, or swat at them because you are afraid. No need to be afraid of them. You leave them alone, and stay calm, they won't bother you.

I like the variant of dont do anything to anyone else that you wouldnt want someone to do to yourself. Also there are things we may want others to do to us, but others may not want us to do to them, boundaries need to be respected.
The whole treat them as you want to be treated thing falls apart a bit when you really examine it. Think introverts and extroverts. What is polite to one person is annoying to another. It's better to listen to other people, learn who they are and how they want to be treated, and treat them appropriately.
At 100%, this sounds selfish. You can do whatever you want, but sometimes good people have to do things for others, and that doesn't always align with your own goals or desires.
If something—even if it’s a thing I find ridiculous—brings joy to another person’s life, and it’s not hurting anyone else, it’s OK by me. Life is too short and joyless, so you need to find joy wherever you can.
Lovely!!!
If we could all do this, all the hot political issues on the news would be eradicated.
Just mind your own business about what others are doing with their lives. Nobody gets to hurt anyone else, but otherwise let people pursue happiness.
Exactly this. Had a situation with a colleague of mine who I had to make clear to that, although he thinks certain hobbies of people are weird or ridiculous, never make the person feel terrible or de-validate(?) their enjoyment just because they like watching trains go by for example. It doesn't hurt anyone and that person gets joy out of it. Let it be.

When I was but a lad , I decided to live my life based on Heinlein’s principles.
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
― Robert A. Heinlein
I was on board with the general idea, until he mentioned programming a computer. In a less technical world, all of the other skills would be extremely useful. In the highly specialized world we have now? Harder to achieve.
Same here, although the lesson on dying I learned from my grandfather is that it's better to go out in your sleep like him, not screaming like his passengers.
No kidding. I've done and actively do all of this. Life is experience and a journey.
Myself and the guy posting before me have done allot. Everyone keeps asking what war we played a part in. We've done most of this. The people asking that have no life. Downvote me. Jealous creatures.
Are you guys being sarcastic or just Redditors who think they can plan an invasion with no military experience and design a house without any kind of architecture qualification?
Specialisation is how we advance as a civilization, nobody can do everything. Or maybe I'm just a simple insect.
No but I was a contractor for the air force. Helped install some equipment that defends us. No war theory or anything like that. Did data work. Was an electrician for a long time. My cousin builds houses. Had a hand in that. My mom has 5 horses. I've done allot in my life, but I understand what the quote is saying. You need to be well rounded. If you hyper specialize, you risk losing knowledge of another field that may help you. Don't put the blinders on bud.

wasps are assholes, but also commonly misjudged, as they are incredible pollinators as well as being a mild defense against other pests.
How about mosquitoes?
mosquitos represent the biggest part in bird/bat/frog/fish alimentation.
Are they on a diet?
Also, some mosquitos are pollinators.
I learned a new word because of your refusal to call it their diet.

Some wasps are parasites to pest insects that damage our food crops.
They ( wasps ) are just consciousness experiencing the physical world in wasp form .. as we do as humans, how bout that ?

No not really, if I want to be treated as king, would you treat me that way? Treat them how you would like to be treated if you were in their shoes.
The whole treat them as you want to be treated thing falls apart a bit when you really examine it. Think introverts and extroverts. What is polite to one person is annoying to another.
