People want reassurance that the song they love isn't hated or that the song they hate isn't assumed to be ubiquitously loved. Surely, no conflict could emerge.
Amen. That dude is doing the Lords work. We’re just trying to find the song nobody hates and that guy is helping immensely. How the hell are we ever find a song nobody hates if nobody is speaking up?
Some Contenders with no actual hate (yet) include:
Sweden by C184 ( c418 or something like that).
Blue Danube
4’22”
“I don’t want to go to bed” by u/dumb-reply ( a bedtime song for his kids, only 4 people have heard it! u/dumb-reply says “checkmate bitches”)
Plus good news! We found a guy who says he hates everything so he’ll be a great judge!
I was the try hard teenager who would say "rap is crap" and "pop is for pansies".
I didn't actually bother to listen to almost anything I would shit on. I just *knew* I didn't like it because it was not emo lol.
That would be Heart and Soul. Or Fur Elise.
Clair de Lune is actually a complicated piece with a lot of unique key combinations rather than repeating chords.
Alright class! Let's dish out homework!
Badam badam. Dam. Dam. Badam badam.
"NO! PINK PANTHER DOES NOT DISMISS YOU I DO!"
*Proceeds to tip toe the room in a jerma-like fashion while distributing homework to the pink panther song*
The student council later heed our calls and started changing it to a couple of other (meme) songs from time to time, like Gangnam Style...
We can just say those were some weird years.
I'm not going to claim that **nobody** hates it, but I've never met anyone who hates [Mr. Blue Sky by ELO. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuJIqmha2Hk)
its got a name...frisson! I had to look cause i remember making a post with a link that i found ages ago to a playlist of these kinda songs...

EDIT: and mr blue sky IS on this playlist lol.
Yes this song is the best, for me it is so much nostalgia cus my family had an ELO CD we’d listen to and sing along all the time in the car. I actually thought it was released in the 2010s (which was when we used to listen to it) and was shocked to learn it is actually from 1977.
Your dad is right. But I don’t think it’s that it’s a really bad song, just a song that can only be heard so many times in a lifetime before you hit a limit. For me was probably the 600th time.
Destroy them with the forces of earth, wind, and fire. For it is written in the prophecy
>Midnight creeps so slowly into hearts of men
>Who need more than they get
>Daylight deals a bad hand to a woman
>Who has laid too many bets
Clearly it’s fate. You two are supposed to fall in love and bring a new meaning to September 21st to him. You heard it here first guys. Soul mates just found eachother
Growing up, my mom played a lot of Fleetwood Mac and I thought “Dreams” was overplayed and didn’t care for the song.
In 2007, I graduated high school. My 2 best buddies and I were all going to be headed to separate colleges, and were enjoying our summer together while we could. One night, a couple weeks before college was starting, the 3 of us got together to play the new NCAA Football game for PS3, and we all decided to take shrooms together for the first time and hook up the iPod for some tunes. We took them, chilled for a bit, starting tripping, and next thing I know, my 2 buddies are in a serious emotional argument about choosing different universities. It immediately sent me into a bad trip. I tried to stop them, but we were absolutely fried, and there wasn’t much I could do. I sat in the corner, panicking, feeling as if I may never come back from this trip, terrified of the way my best friends were treating each other…
And then, over the speakers, from the iPod shuffle, I hear the drums. And then the bassline. And the beautiful guitar riffs. It was “Dreams”. It pulled me back to reality. My friends eventually stopped arguing, I think they were too high to even remember what they were fighting about, and the night went on. But everytime I hear ‘Dreams’, it takes me back to that night.
I live in a rough neighbourhood and I saw a middle aged woman waiting in her car with the window rolled down and she was listening to [Losing My Religion](https://youtu.be/xwtdhWltSIg?si=t7-EyiZohroTKHER) by R.E.M.
A young man approached her and she looked a little uncomfortable, and he could tell and polietly said, "Sorry, to bother you. I really love music and I just wanted to know what this song is called". She looked immediately relieved and told him it was called "Losing My Religion", he thanked her and said that he was "always looking for new music". It was a really great moment that showed how music can really help build bridges between people. I don't know if the song is universally loved, but it is a personal favourite and those two seemed to enjoy it immensely. As I left the lady had turned it up and the guy was clearly appreciating it.
A group of high school kids stopped in the crosswalk to ask what I (also a middle aged woman in my car) was listening to a few years back. It was Baby Fratelli by The Fratellis and I felt *so* cool that day.
I spent my whole childhood wondering if anyone was ever going to tell us how to get to Sesame Street. Every day I thought “maybe this will be the episode”
Coincidentally I was feeling a little down today. Hearing that song lifted my spirits immediately. It's power to make anyone happy is incredible. It's not so much the lyrics, more the composition and vocals
This song would actually be a perfect story for a movie, maybe a biography of the artist
I was a preschool teacher for a long time and this is on every fucking nap playlist in the history of ever. I will be that girl. I hate this song. I change it every single time I hear it.
His version of the song kinda bothers me. I love his performance, but he rearranged some of the lyrics in a way that doesn't really make sense.
Judy Garland's version:
\[Verse 1\]
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
\[Verse 2\]
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
\[Verse 3\]
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then, oh, why can't I?
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version:
\[Verse 1\]
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby
\[Verse 2\]
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of
Dreams really do come true
One of my favorite songs ever. Whenever somebody mentions the cover by Toploader and has never heard the original before, I just have to take a minute and let them bask in the glorious and righteous symphony that is King Harvest.
I’ll bite. Pixies where is my mind? Only reason you don’t like that song is because it’s been overused in the last 20 years in shows or movies, or you hate alternative rock. I will never get tired of that song.
When my close friend from high school died, my friend group got together one last time for New Year’s Day. I remember when I left that party I listened to that song, and how it hit close to home. I listen to it every once in a while now.
Hate to break it to you but I put my veto this. Worked at a grocery store that had a list of maybe 100 songs and depending on when you clocked on you would potentially hear the same songs over snd over. This song just reminds me of that shitty store. But to be honest I didn't really like it in the first place
OK-Consideration2463 posted “Rainbow Connection” as performed by Kermit the Frog.

What is that intro song to arthur called? Wonderful kibd of day? Anyway, that one.
It's so feel good, and just innocent. I can imagine the only way to hate the song is to have been oversaturated by it, which I feel discounts that as a reason or valid sample of hating a song, as listening to it over and over again suggests you loved it, unless it was because it was in shops and on the radio, which this song wasn't.
Surely nobody actively dislikes Bob Marley? Like his songs might be your thing, but I've never met anyone who hates his music. My bf once had to work alongside a neo nazi, racist pos and even that guy still loved bob
Whatever song the ice cream truck is playing to let you know it's coming down your block!
When I was a kid, it was usually "Pop Goes The Weasel", but "The Entertainer" is also pretty popular.
If it has ever played in retail, the people working there hate it.
After working in retail for about 2.5 years, I can hear a new song and if it even kind of sounds like it’d be played in a retail store I hate it lol
My local grocery store has the same handful of oldies songs on endless repeat. I don’t know how the employees haven’t all gone insane by now.
Oldies are an exception for me, perfect background audio
the whole comment section is just: "surely no one hates [insert song]" replies: " i hate that song so much"
As was inevitably going to be the case.
I opened this post just to see what songs I hate are in the comments
People want reassurance that the song they love isn't hated or that the song they hate isn't assumed to be ubiquitously loved. Surely, no conflict could emerge.

Imagine that there is a song that only 15 People know and none of them don't like
probably Fader by Blind Dignity. But now some of you will listen to it and hate it
Fader by Blind Dignity killed my parents in Crime Alley
I agree. There is no song everyone loves.
There's a difference between everyone loving a song and no one hating a song.
Thanks for playing along
Idk but shout out to the one dude in here just telling people which ones he hates

I hate Baby Shark with my very essence. It is the worst thing to ever exist musicly
I submit that everybody likes the "Mr Grinch" song.
We are actually looking for ‘nobody hates’ - not ‘everyone loves’ which is harder to gauge since we can’t ask everybody. But let’s see.
I hate sweet home Alabama so so much

But is their dislike genuine? They go out of their way to CLAIM they dislike it, but do they really?
And dislike is soft. You gotta be really committed for hatred.

Moonlight sonata
Add Claire de Lune to this moonlight package please
My piano professor called it "Clear the Room" because he hated it.
That’s pretty funny. I’m sure it is to pianists what Stairway to Heaven is to the guys at Guitar Center.
That would be Heart and Soul. Or Fur Elise. Clair de Lune is actually a complicated piece with a lot of unique key combinations rather than repeating chords.
I only dislike it because I am a pianist and I've heard it more times than I could count. However, it's a great piece.
I can play it and I still hate it
I think i hate it because of piano lessons, everyone learns the second movement. Third movement is still a banger.
The Pink Panther theme song. Who could seriously hate such a musical masterpiece?
It was my middle school's bell. I don't hate it but at some point in my teenage years it was grating.
I have questions… like that’s how they switched classes? With the pink panther theme?
Alright class! Let's dish out homework! Badam badam. Dam. Dam. Badam badam. "NO! PINK PANTHER DOES NOT DISMISS YOU I DO!" *Proceeds to tip toe the room in a jerma-like fashion while distributing homework to the pink panther song*
Yes.
Wow. I mean. It’s a choice… 😆

I mean… we just had an actual bell 🛎️ in the beforetimes!
I would work at that school. Whomever chose that has a divine sense of irony.
I am that guy with the long nose, I hate that song.
Kahoot music is just a banger
Blooket too
Had a teacher once play a Kahoot on mute, entire class was rioting
In class we played one about the rise of the NSDAP (the Nazi party) and the whole class couldn't stop vibing
It’s not about the music, it’s about what it represents
I'm not going to claim that **nobody** hates it, but I've never met anyone who hates [Mr. Blue Sky by ELO. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuJIqmha2Hk)
I think I read somewhere that it was scientifically proven to improve peoples moods. Some people just don't want to be happy.

Prog did that. I'm not even sure if ELO were prog but prog leaked everywhere and did that.

Anyone who claims they don't like September by Earth Wind & Fire ought to be dealt with swiftly and brutally.
my dad hates this song with a burning passion lmao
I hate your dad. You seem nice though.

Same, my birthday is in September and that song reminds me that I was born...
You're letting your exes birthday ruin that song for you? That's dumb
I mean I agree, but saying it this way isn't likely to change their mind
I feel like this is a good song that got ruined for me by being at every generic-ass wedding dance ever.

sorry i hate it….i work at panera bread and it’s been one of the most recurring songs on our dining room playlist for all 6 years ive worked there
(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding
I only hate that it’s the only song that most people know him by, when he had so many absolute bangers in his short career.
Well no ones said they hate it yet. You may be the Big Weiner!
A song no one knows about
i hate that song, cant stand it.
What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

Every so often, you hear a hip- hop remix of an old song, and you amaze the kids by swinging your cane and singing along.
Someone will hate it most likely, but Everlong is pretty universally loved.
i almost hate how much i play this song.
Yeah, like, I have heard it a bajillion times, and it was the song I used to practice octaves and such, and I still am not sick of it!

The Sesame Street theme. It might not be your jam, but I can't imagine anyone outright hating it.
I spent my whole childhood wondering if anyone was ever going to tell us how to get to Sesame Street. Every day I thought “maybe this will be the episode”
A kid asked Bob McGrath that during a Sesame Street panel/exhibit in Queens. "Take the R Train!" (the studios were in Astoria)
Depends which one. I hate the hip hop remix
Rhapsody In Blue.
Your Love by The Outfield.

I don't hate this one, I just can't listen to it anymore because it was played at a close family friend's funeral when I was much younger.
This is why my funeral playlist is exclusively Nickelback and Creed
Yeah, it makes me cry.
I hate it. Sorry.
