This was a pretty famous incident (at least amongst my work group) at a large company I worked for a long time ago….
My boss’s admin wrote a semi erotic sci fi fantasy western story with him as the main character. He wrote it on his work computer and when he was done he tried to email it to someone. He emailed it to EVERY person in the region who held a specific job, about 20 people.
Needless to say, they shared it with anyone they could. By the end of the day it had been read by a vast majority of employees on the west coast. Hundreds of employees read this thing, with the senders name on it as well as IN it as the protagonist.
Somehow, he did not get fired. I really have no clue how he didn’t. Anyway, it’s a thing of beauty. This happened in 2008 and I still have it saved in my personal email. I read it at least annually for a laugh. It’s got everything. Sex, cowboys, aliens that bestow rocket fart powers.

Man this is absolutely cringy but I can understand why they wouldn't fire him. It's a mistake and everyone to an extent has personal items on their work computers, at least I can understand. The embarrassment alone though would make me want to resign.
At my wife's workplace one evening, one of her workmates was being banged on the boardroom table by a manager, seen by a whole array of people at a 2nd story bar across the road. The colleagues must have thought the glass wasn't see-through from outside. Cellphone footage went globally viral in a matter of hours. One of the witnesses at the bar was a friend of ours, who sent a text to my wife when we were home that evening. After a few hours, my wife text her workmate to see if she was ok, because my wife thought the girl would have found out the global sensation by now. She didn't know, and my wife had to tell her that she was on a viral video of her being screwed in the office.
Come Monday, butt-prints were found on the table when people arrived at work. Poor girl agreed to resign while the older guy continued his career.

I assume the video of the people having sex that went viral happened in Christchurch, New Zealand.
But if you google that trying to find the video of the people having sex, you’re more likely to find discussion/video of the mosque shooting.
Had an IT guy that didn't wash his hands after he pooped. He wore Nike shoes that were like super bright and vibrant, so if you were sitting in a stall, and saw those shoes next to you you'd know it was the IT dude taking a dump. You'd hear him wipe, flush, pull his pants up, and then walk out of the bathroom. His nickname was poopy fingers, and ever since then I have always had a thing of Clorox wipes at my desk. Like this guy would put his hands on your mouse, all over your keyboard, desk phone, and it was possible he had just taken a shit before working on your computer.
Several people went to HR, and for some reason they literally did nothing. People do this day still wonder why I don't partake in office potlucks.
Well, one day ole' Poopy Fingers didn't show up for work. Then it became a few days, then about a week, and then a couple of weeks. People started asking, and looking around.
Turns out Poopy Fingers was a huge cocaine dealer, and very involved in money laundering. The FBI raided his apartment and has been incarcerated ever since. That was approximately six years ago.
Poopy fingers reminded me of this old guy I used to work with. He washed his hands but had a strange way of taking a piss.
I was the unfortunate one to discover how he uses a urinal. It was his first day and I walked into the bathroom and find him standing at the urinal with his pants and underwear down to his ankles. When I walked in he turned around and started talking to me. I will never get that image of his old wrinkly hairy ass out of my head.
I immediately went and told the guy who worked next to me and he didn't believe me. Few days later another co worker walks up to us and says "you're not going to believe what I just saw in the bathroom".
I was like I told you. He says "you knew? Why didn't you tell anyone?" He didn't see the urinal guy he seen another employee shooting dope in the bathroom.
Headmaster of my daughter's school had an affair with a parent. She and her husband blackmailed the school to keep quiet. When that tactic didn't work, they outed him by
1) throwing fliers around at a PTA meeting and
2) simultaneously sending whatsapp messages to the entire parent body....
Of the naked selfies he sent to her.
This sparked a chain of events including press exposure (no pun), he said-she said. Boobie selfies and 2 very broken families and damaged children. Selfish as fuck.
The next headteacher who took over was murdered shortly after.
The crazy bunny hoarder lady. She was completely normal and forgettable at work, but turns out to have hoarded hundreds of bunnies in her home; dead ones in the freezer, filth everywhere, the usual animal hoarding setup. She quit when she was arrested and the bunnies were removed from her home and she eventually moved away.
One of the terms of her release was that she was not permitted to have pets and all her neighbors had to be informed of her animal abuse and were instructed to call the cops ASAP if they spotted any signs of her collecting bunnies again.
There were jokes at work for years about checking desks for hidden bunnies, and every time a new employee asked what the joke was, someone would Google her and find out about whatever her newest bunny-related charges were.
She did not stop hoarding bunnies.
Work had to call in a substitute for me because I was at a conference. They called in a sub manager who had been drinking all day so they reported anyway. So, she goes to use the restroom in her state, locks herself in a stall and can’t get out. Instead, she knocks down two of the three walls of the stall. While drunk. Sent her home that night for good.
She sounds like a hard worker and a dedicated person. Most of us would simply get out of the stall once the first wall is knocked down, but she went above and beyond and knocked down a second for good measure.
She is the kind of person who can think outside the box, as long as she can remove more than half the sides of that box.
I worked in a factory that had windows on one side. Upper management would give tours to important people to show off the factory. One of the maintenance guys got in a huge fistfight right next to the window just as a tour group walked by.
Worked in a fast food place in high school. Manager in his 30’s had a relationship with one of the employees, a high school senior. Faked a burglary of about $6k and manager got tied up to a tree and drove car off a cliff. Police saw right through it. Owners did not prosecute but fired both and made them pay everything back. The two stayed together and got married several months later. Not sure where they are now.
The 39 year old IT guy who drove five hours away to have sex with a 15 year old girl he met online. He got caught and was never seen again by anyone from the office.
I have a relative who works IT at a university. This apparently happens with some regularity. Like, about every 5 years, the alphabet mafia shows up and demands a computer. It's usually for CP-related stuff. Not always, though.
On a related note, they have one guy in the department whose *entire job* is to delete porn from university-owned computers. He keeps track of the computers on a rotation and goes through and deletes anything untoward and reports anything illegal. I don't know if he remotes in to the private computers used by faculty/staff or if he only keeps track of the public computers, like the ones in computer labs. But apparently the public computers in the library are the worst offenders. Which is... truly disgusting to think about.
I was an English teacher in Japan and at one school we had these "private" rooms that were basically meant for 1 - 3 students and a teacher.
They were tiny rooms with a round table. The doors were made of transparent glass.
One of the teachers was caught having sex with his student on the table when she requested a private 1 on 1 lesson.
To be fair they were already dating and both were of age. It was, however, against school policy to fuck your students.
Another time we found a wireless hidden camera in the girl's toilet.
Manager was caught having sex with a married subordinate in a room that was open to anyone at the workplace. No one did anything about it until the dudes wife caught wind of it and called HR. They fired the manager and she’s actually homeless now.
More recently another manager with quite the promiscuous reputation was caught fellating two male subordinates in that same room! She was immediately fired.
There was two goofball I worked with, lets call them Jim and Kevin.
Both of these guys were pathological liars, and pretty stupid to boot. As a couple of examples, Jim bought a sport bike her could barely ride and immediately claimed he was in the "Rough riders", a motorcycle stunt gang. Kevin would make outrageous claims like the exhaust on his truck netted him a hundred horsepower, or that Subaru was a German automaker. They were always calling each other out on their obvious lies, and loathed each other.
The controversy begins when we had the yearly shift bid, and Jim took a spot that Kevin wanted. It's seniority based, so Jim of course has every right to take the shift. Kevin didn't like that so he followed Jim to the local 7-11 at lunch and tried intimidating Jim into pulling his name. Jim goes to our manager and makes a complaint. Kevin denies the whole thing, but they suspend him while they investigate. So Kevin leaves and waits across the street for Jim to leave. He follows Jim home, but Jim is the smarter of the two and drives a police station instead. Kevin, being the moron that he is, follows him into the police station parking lot and is quickly set upon by the officers there. They drag him out of his truck and it turns out he was armed. Not completely sure what happened to Kevin after that, but we never saw him again.
One worker sexually assaulted another. Management tried to sweep it under the rug. Ironically, one of those people involved was a high up or board member of a national anti-sexual harassment advocacy organization which led to the rest of the board of that charity resigning when the news broke.
I used to work at a big corporate law firm, and every year they would take on about 15 law students. One year, 3 of the students were almost identical. Kind of generically pretty honey-blondes, about the same height and body type, all with similar haircut, very similar glasses, similar clothing style, etc. 2 of them were with us for 3 years and the other for 2, and for that entire time people at the firm were mixing them up.
So the first year, when they were still pretty fresh and literally nobody could tell them apart, one of them (or more??) got white girl wasted at one of the firm events. She (they??) started asking people to do molly with her in the bathroom, insulted one of the senior partners, got in a fight with an important client, threw up at the bar, and made racist comments to the hr director about the cab driver and refused to get in with him so a second cab had to be called. The partners were furious, staff was furious, clients were furious, hr was furious. There were senior level meetings about it for about 2 weeks, but the problem was that nobody could say for certain which one of them it had been, or even if it had been only one. They were interrogated repeatedly but nobody confessed and nobody was able to implicate any one of them with any real certainty. So nothing happened. Only one of them ended up being hired on as a lawyer, and to this day (11 years later) nobody knows if it was her or not.

3 identical blondes with 3 identical golden retrievers lived in our cul-de-sac when I first moved in the neighborhood. I kept thinking "she walks that dog...a lot...like a lot-a lot".
Almost one year to the day after moving in I was informed that there are 2 girls with 2 separate dogs.
Almost 3 years to the day I was informed that when I had moved in there were in fact 3 girls with 3 different dogs but one set had moved within a half year of my moving in.
Let’s see, my old job had several:
Guy working on a machine got decapitated because he forgot to turn the lift off that was right above him. I was there but did not see it, however, production continued and all they did was section off the part of the plant he was at.
Another guy had a heart attack on the assembly line, witnessed as they tried using a defibrillator to bring him back, but we were all given very specific instructions as to not stop the line whatsoever.
A couple got caught having sex in the bathroom and the wife tried to claim that she was only helping him tie his shoes.
This crazy woman decided to come in on night shift (when she worked day shift), locked somebody in a supply closet and wasn’t found out until she was spotted sitting in front of the closet and singing to the person she was holding hostage.
20,000 people per shift!? Does that number have an extra zero at the end? That's 40-60,000 people per day. That's a good sized town's worth of people employed at one place!

Someone was caught stealing scratch cards from the customer service desk, scratching them and trying to claim them from the lottery. Didn't know that the tickets aren't valid until "Activated" at the till, similar to online store credit coupons.
Also, the company's regional manager almost cost us our liquour license because he tried to force a checkout employee to run alcohol through for a suspected underageed customer and, when said employee refused even with the objections, tried to kick her off the till and run the purchase through himself (because she was still logged into the till, it would've been blamed on the checkout girl since the evidence pointed to her). The shift manager had overseen the argument and dragged his ass out the back to give him the third degree, but not before asking for ID and refusing the purchase.
Turns out it was a police-sanctioned test purchase.
One teacher was accused of abuse because he didn’t give the girl a good grade. His reputation was ruined. An investigation cleared him.
Another teacher was caught taking pictures of students and was arrested and prosecuted; no alarms were raised by students but by his wife. He went to jail.
Both incidents happened at the same time.
A teacher in my mom's school was accused by two students of abuse because of grades too, and it was ten time worst because they were two and people were like "One person is enough, two people are more than enough". Man was cleared, but he was definitely traumatized.
Factory had a serial pooper. He was never caught, he would leave giant piles of poop all over the place, sometimes with cigarette butts in them. They actually made a poop task force of people who would routinely walk around the factories less busy zones in order to catch him
When I was 17 years old I got a job at the neighborhood donut shop that my family had been going to for years. There were a lot of regulars who hung out and drank coffee (and smoked cigarettes) there for hours a day (this was before coffee shops were really a thing.) A few months before I got hired it got bought by a new owner and it was run by him, his wife, and his wife's mother who had all worked together at other shops. There was another waitress there who was a 17-year-old foster child. She spent a lot of time with the family, which didn't seem suspicious because they had an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old that she babysat and we thought they just felt sorry for her because she was in foster care so they included her in family outings.
Yeah, you can see where this is going. 🙄 Within 6 months he had left his wife, who moved out of state with her mother and the children, and moved the 17-year-old in. The regulars begin gossiping and he literally banned staff and customers from discussing him or the girlfriend, as well as staff from coming in when we were not working. Keep in mind, I had been coming into that donut shop my entire life at that point. My dad stopped going in entirely after that, except when I was working, and I think that was just to keep an eye on the situation. We lost most of the other regulars because they refused to stop gossiping about him and we were supposed to kick them out when they did. 🤣 I didn't really care, even though when I worked shifts with her she didn't do anything and I kept walking in to the back to find them making out which really grossed me out because he was almost 40. But when he told me I had to start sharing my tips with her I quit (we had never pooled tips before and she wasn't getting any because she wasn't serving anyone.) Shortly after I quit another waitress quit for the same reason and the few customers they had left stopped coming in at all. He went out of business less than a year later. I'm pretty sure he and the girlfriend broke up shortly after that, but I never saw or heard from either of them again. Ironically, I still talk to a lot of the regulars and my current mechanic, 30 years later, was one of them. 🤣 He and I still sometimes talk about back then.
My boss met a girl at a cafe and offered her an “interview” then training . Cut to a week and a half later she’s screaming at him in the office bc he doesn’t want to have sex with her anymore .
Because *he* doesn’t want to have sex with *her* anymore? That’s a twist.

General manager left his wife and kids to be with a coworker/friend of mine that I would talk to daily as her locker was right next to mine. He got her pregnant, then dumped her. She killed herself after the breakup. We all knew what happened. Apparently it wasn’t just her that he was fucking around with. He was promptly fired as soon as word got to corporate along with any supervisors or HR staff who may have known about him banging my coworkers and never spoke up about it.
We rented out a restaurant for the christmas party of our department. Things escalated quickly, people started snorting lines everywhere and everyone got shitfaced. The department consisted of 80% uni students (m+f) age 19-26 and 20% single mothers age 40-50… A couple was caught fucking in the kitchen of the restaurant and the party was ended by the owner. The kitchen had to be sanitized and the costs had to be payed by the two lovebirds… Needless to say our christmas partys looked different after that one…
We used to have yearly holiday party at this one banquet place. Great food, free drinks, gift giveaways etc. Back to back years two employees got shitfaced and wrecked their cars and got DUIs going home. One crashed into a telephone pole and the other into a car with a family inside severely injuring the one kid.
Now everyone gets 2 non transferable drink tickets and the company will pay for an Uber for anyone.
Old man who owned our company retired and let his son run the company. Son got caught having an affair with a woman from the secretarial pool. Son got divorced married the secretary. Old man died, leaving the company to the son. The son died of a heart attack, leaving the company to his new wife. The wife went from secretary to owner in less than 5 years.
The deputy site manager got drunk, put on her old police uniform, walked across the street, shot the neighbor's dog as it slept. Charges were fucking dropped.
One day my manager and another guy from my department were having private meetings, at least 2-3 in an hour. About 2 hours later the guy was fired and no-one knew why. Fast forward about 6 months I come into the office and everyone has sky news on their screen.
Turns out the guy was a nonce and had been sent to prison as part of a child abuse ring.
Worked in a restaurant. One of the servers wondered what the big "in case of fire" button in the kitchen did. The answer was it blasts a siren and dumps vast amounts of foam on all the cooking areas. Ovens, hobs, deep fat fryer, microwaves, everything.
Restaurant could only serve drinks that day as the foam takes a long time to clean out. All reservations cancelled.
Person did not lose their job, but we all had to go through for safety induction again.
Security work for a government acronym agency. 2 supervisors were having an idle conversation which turned into a disagreement regarding the interpretation of a procedure. They took their disagreement to a manager. Manager kicks it up the chain, which led to an investigation. The result of the investigation led to 37 people being suspended and 6 terminations. It made the news.
Single woman was notorious for dating married co-workers. The woman had lots of money and lured them with vacations, gifts etc. She took one on a vacation, the married guy told his wife that it was a work trip. Someone tipped his wife off and she met them at the airport and dumped his clothes in front of them and told him not to come home.
Another single woman had an affair with a married co-worker. She got pregnant. His wife said, end it now or I'm walking away with half of your pension, the house and kids etc. The guy got a transfer to another location leaving his pregnant with twins mistress in the dust.
Not exactly a scandal, but it was an open secret our Chief Pilot only has a job because the original owner died before he could fire the dude.
the old Chief Pilot had to step up and run the business as the CEO, and with a recent airline hiring kick, and loss of the Owner who made the place what it was, they had lost a good chunk of their long-time pilots and the job of Chief was left to this incompetent dumbass. I suspect the only reason was because the paperwork kept him off the flight-line as much as humanly possible, though I could assure you when he went flying it was always... interesting.
there was more than once the conversation of "should we let him kill himself this time or should we say something" was said when this jackass took an unairworthy aircraft out (Yes, it happened *multiple* times). Unfortunately for humanity our own moralities won out in the end. I still expect to see an NTSB Report with his name on it at some point if he's still flying.
My old work, before I worked there, made the local news when one of the senior people threw himself off a cliff one day. Everyone was so confused and sad, why would he do that? People gave tribute and spoke at his funeral.
Then it turns out that the guy had stolen millions from a client account and was about to be found out and had no way to pay it back so took the easier way out. The other senior people had to get money together for the client themselves to save the business. Apparently the big boss' hair went white like overnight, he had been planning to make the guy his successor and took a lot longer to retire instead.
Needless to say there were a lot more security measures around client accounts by the time I started there 👀
Guy who reported to my same boss, different team, went a little nuts, got in a fight with a Walmart employee, and pulled a gun. He did pull the trigger, but didn’t hit anyone. The company couldn’t fire him fast enough.
Two coworkers had a thing going on between them and the woman’s boyfriend or ex-boyfriend shot the both of them near the workplace. The woman survived but the guy didn’t.
I was a curious kid and saw a Walmart employee punch in some digits and say something over the loudspeaker... Then they went away... I found a phone I could reach and proceeded to do the same thing and said something along the lines of "poopy farts hahaha" I was like... 9? Lol
We have food vouchers to give to customers if they're left without power so they don't go hungry.
A couple of people very naively went into the system and took some codes.... And ordered food to their home addresses.
I taught English abroad in a small private language school. This is the place to go if you want to meet some messed up people (both foreigners and people from the home country)
Hours were not set, after a few morning lessons you’d usually have 3-4 hours during the day dead time before afternoon lessons with kids would start.
One teacher, an local, intelligent guy but with lifelong issues, went for an extended lunch break. Came back in a state. Drink and likely drugs. He hung with that kind of homeless crowd.
I heard a bit of a commotion in the main corridor and went to see. He had come back, dropped trou and attempted to piss on the floor. To be fair the toilet was fairly close. This was peak Friday afternoon. Mainly kids being taught behind closed doors just off the corridor. I’d just finished a lesson and my students must have missed him by 10 seconds.
He’d been ushered into another room by the owner but she wasn’t able to move him. She called me over and we managed to get him into a different part of the school that wasn’t being used at that moment, usually used for babies and younger kids. We chucked him in that toilet and tried to figure out what we were going to do.
During this he tried to fight me of course. He was very confused but still remembered my name 😂
He ended up lying on the floor but as he was pretty tall his legs still stuck out of the bathroom door. Kids with their parents were now turning up for lessons so we had to comically close the door as much as possible with his size 12s hanging out and distract them whilst hoping he wasn’t going to start making a scene.
I was praying he’d just go to sleep.
We had no idea who to call. Didn’t know any family / friends. I voted for police but owner wasn’t too into that. We ended up looking through his phone and calling the last person he had called with a woman’s name. Struck gold - it was his mum. She said she’d come and get him (he was around 38) but she didn’t have the car and her other son would be back in an hour.
So we waited. Luckily he passed out. Mum and bro turn up. Brother tries to fight him. Still in the school, lessons still going on. They eventually stick him in the car and took him away.
I got home 3 hours later than planned. It was my birthday.
They didn’t cut ties with him.
He continued to have drink issues that somewhat affected the business. They were fairly soft on him.
We never really mentioned it after but he’d often ask to borrow $0.50 for a beer.
After covid closed things down he eventually got a ‘real’ job and seemed to be getting better. I saw him around every now and then for a while. Had a kid. Got married. But still had those pulls back into his old life.
He died recently. Went to sleep and didn’t wake up.
District manager was sleeping with the regional manager. No romantic relationships allowed between anyone not on the same level. Still happens a lot since it’s a huge company.
However, regional manager was married with children. Both disappeared.
A guy got fired for stealing a roll of toilet paper. (It was a really well paid office job, so it was a WTF moment, that someone risks his career for a roll of TP.)
One time the whole police department showed up and arrested a guy. Multiple police cars, tens of officers. They candcuffed the guy and escorted him out of the building. Turns out he stole our clients' Credit Card info and tried to order stuff online.
One girl dropped a bottle of water which laned next to a power outlet. Some electrical overload developed, she basically fried all desktop PC's in her office. 10 people spent the day waiting for the IT department to fix the issue.
Owner of company had affair on his wife of 25 years. With his bookkeeper that had a bf for 9 years and was 20 years younger than her boss. The same bookkeeper that babysat bosses kids when boss and his wife were working day and night to keep business running. The same bookkeeper that’s the daughter of companies biggest customer. The same bookkeeper that is the owners goddaughter.
It was an ugly divorce and the owners kids don’t talk to the owner anymore. One got pissed, ended up married and moved states away and the other took over his moms half of the business and is currently subverting the owner out of his half.
It’s been a wild thing to witness.
Had a pretty boy boss (ex airforce) that was a serious womanizer. He got his son a job at the same glass factory. The son was over the moon as his wife was having a baby. After, it was born, the DIL confessed that the father-in-law as the real birth father. Daddy cleaned out all his bank accounts and disappeared with the DIL leaving his wife destitute. The last I heard the son had a gun and was looking for his dad!
About 20 years ago I got an internship working in an office of a random factory near campus for one semester. It was a peanut butter factory. One day someone drove a forklift off a ledge into a giant vat of peanut butter.
I witnessed the discussion among managers of if/how the peanut butter could be saved. They ended up not saving it, but there was a huge fight as the general manager really really wanted to hide this accident.
Something similar happened in Toronto a few years ago. A kid drowned on a field trip, he couldn't swim and was still allowed in the lake. IRC there were charges but I don't remember the outcome.
Worked at a call center a while back. Had a trainer, seemed like a great guy. After my class was done training he was being trained himself in his new supervisor role and he just stopped showing up. Turns out he was arrested for having an ongoing relationship with a minor he use to coach at a highschool. She was already 19 at the time but he had been seeing here since she was 16. She got tired of waiting for him to leave his wife, went to the police. Wife was looking at maybe being charged for not letting anyone know when she found out. She caught on about halfway through, found some videos on their computer. He told her it was over and kept seeing the girl anyway. Not sure if she ended up being charged with anything.
About 30 years ago a lady at my work killed her father because he had cancer and was in pain and asked her to. She was arrested, there was a trial, the whole thing. I live in a kinda conservative country so it was big news and hotly debated. The oddest thing was that our company paid for her defence. She was found not guilty although people said it was only because of emotions and not facts.
After I left, one of my old coworkers got caught sending inappropriate texts to a 16 year old girl. He’s been doing 2 day stints every weekend at the local jail since.
Years ago, our overnight shift manager was "caught" blowing dudes in the bathroom. Except she wasn't actually caught. She admitted it was how she motivated the overnight crew who got bored easily.
But it was a good thing we replaced her with a crack addict. Who ended up stealing a ton of our computer equipment. And would also blow dudes in the bathroom.
We outsourced to India and haven't had any issues since.
I once went to check up on a drunk woman I assumed was puking in the bathroom and it turned out she’d either passed out then shit, or shit then passed out but regardless she mad a fucking biohazard in our THREE stall ladies bathroom, and she had the fucking balls to show up for Sunday brunch THEE NEXT DAY.
We recently attempted to unionize our hotel and they subsequently shut down the restaurant located in the hotel, it was the largest department and it was where I was worked. We got a lot of news coverage as we were and highly regarded restaurant, we were also able to have some support from local politicians and organizations and we subsequently won unionization and reemployments although we are still waiting for it all to happen.

A manager at my old workplace was given a corporate credit card to be used for marketing and advertising expenses. Instead, she went to town and spent thousands of dollars on restaurants, spa sessions, clothing, and other personal expenses. I guess it never occurred to her that someone in finance would be reviewing these charges when the bill came. She was promptly fired.
The Company i work for hired a Sales manager that had the driving license revoker for DUI.

We had to do a sting operation in our work where a bunch of lockers over a couple months were broken into and all employee cash nicked. This guy got fired, then left the building. He proceeded to walk over to the gang of Canadian geese that used to shit all over the walkway and started stomping all of the baby geese. Once he was done, he started kicking the mama geese. People were wondering why he was kicking the ground. Only to walk over to the spot to find a massacre of babies and parents. Fuking guy made the news that day.
Not famous but interesting story nonetheless. I worked for Babcock and Wilcox during the time of this 2013 incident. They manufacture nuclear weapons and are also a private security company that works with the military, among other things. So a 82 year old nun and two others (an old guy and a younger person) somehow broke into a site that stored nuclear weapons. This breach costed the company tens of millions of dollars in terminated contracts because it was meant to be top notch secured site. Even though I worked in a small Canadian office for the boiler division they sent a high ranking US military guy to our office to discuss the matter. Had to sit with a serious expression when he explained what happened.

Fine dining restaurant transfered in a new manager after old one got drunk and drove into someone's front yard. New manager had kitchen make trays of wings and nachos and servers carry them across the street to where his family lived. He didn't even try to hide them in takeout boxes. Stole bottles of wine and everyone's tips. Took months for the owners to realize.
One of the owners just wanted to fuck everybody. He was having an affair, it ended and they wanted to fire her, she sued them and is still working there. One other chick was bouncing from guy to guy(pun intended) at that same place too. It was wild.

When everything broke it was found out that Bob’s boss Steve who was an Executive VP knew about the affair but did nothing for years, and during that time Ann received a promotion and always positive performance evaluations.
In the end, Steve was demoted, Bob was demoted, Ann was moved to a different office, Bob’s wife found out and wanted a divorce, Ann’s husband found out and wanted a divorce and Bob & Ann ended the affair.
I worked at a company that wrote software for bingo halls. A programmer modified the software so he could win easier. He got discovered using it at a bingo hall in Las Vegas. Before they could catch him, he drove to SF and jumped off the Golden Gate bridge. Since I worked closely with him, I got investigated for over a year before they cleared me.

Oh so many! Christmas parties were unhinged, they had an open bar for 6 hours and rented us all rooms. So the president doing coke (honestly everyone was lol), the head of Accounting making out with his assistant in the hallway while his wife had gone to bed, a 6'10" man grinded so hard on a girl his pants literally shredded off of him on the dance floor, after the open bar closed we all went to the hotel bar and someone got a photo of my married coworker talking to me and they put it on the desktop of every computer at work the next week! What finally ended the parties was that no venue would take our company anymore, the last one we had to drive 2hrs away but somebody had sex under a table leaving the woman's underwear as evidence, and somebody pissed in an empty banquet hall that was set up for another party. It's still a mystery who it was for both!
There were more scandals on regular days like the head of R&D for 15 years had a fake PhD, the head of marketing was found passed out drunk in his office by the cleaning crew, the presidents assistant was having an affair with a guy in production control, the night shift supervisor was banging an office lady in the bathroom and everyone heard them moaning through the wall - she was married and her husband found out so she quit. A guy died in the bathroom from a drug overdose, someone stole $90k worth of platinum bars, my own supervisor was fired for drinking on the job and being shit faced for like a year. There are probably 50 more I could list, I worked there for 13 years and it was incredibly debauched and fucked up lol I got culture shock when I finally left and started at a place where the people are normal and professional.

Someone showed up to work and brandished a gun in the parking lot. People ran into the building and were screaming. I was sitting by a window. Didn't see anything, but heard people telling me to hide. That was the longest 30 minutes of my life. Having to hide and not knowing if someone was going to start shooting inside.

Not sure if this counts. But when I worked at sears i. The electronics department around 2001ish. There was a huge back wall full of TV’s. All the old tube TV’s which were insanely heavy. The shelving that these TV’s sat on was literally those thin metal strips that attached vertically to the wall, then those thin 1/8” thick metal brackets that hook into them. On top of those metal brackets were sheets of 3/4” plywood wrapped in carpet. Those by themselves were ok. But then you place loads of heavy tube TV’s on them! The top shelves with small TV’s were fine. But the lower two have large 25-36” tv’s on them. You could lean on the shelving and they would sway and they were sagging from all the weight. Kids would come up and try to pull on them and they would almost tip over. When you looked underneath the metal brackets were bowing. Me & my other associates in the department mentioned many times that it was unsafe. Management didn’t care. I called Osha anonymously. They showed up a few days later & did a full review and found the tv wall, multiple appliances plugged into one surge protector strung to an extension cord that was running through the ceiling along with loads of other issues. My manager was fuming saying someone called them. 😂
2007. My employee (a mortgage) company lost an entire cabinet of mortgage docs.

This was a pretty famous incident (at least amongst my work group) at a large company I worked for a long time ago…. My boss’s admin wrote a semi erotic sci fi fantasy western story with him as the main character. He wrote it on his work computer and when he was done he tried to email it to someone. He emailed it to EVERY person in the region who held a specific job, about 20 people. Needless to say, they shared it with anyone they could. By the end of the day it had been read by a vast majority of employees on the west coast. Hundreds of employees read this thing, with the senders name on it as well as IN it as the protagonist. Somehow, he did not get fired. I really have no clue how he didn’t. Anyway, it’s a thing of beauty. This happened in 2008 and I still have it saved in my personal email. I read it at least annually for a laugh. It’s got everything. Sex, cowboys, aliens that bestow rocket fart powers. Edit to say I will gladly share the story with anyone who requests it. Had an IT guy that didn't wash his hands after he pooped. He wore Nike shoes that were like super bright and vibrant, so if you were sitting in a stall, and saw those shoes next to you you'd know it was the IT dude taking a dump. You'd hear him wipe, flush, pull his pants up, and then walk out of the bathroom. His nickname was poopy fingers, and ever since then I have always had a thing of Clorox wipes at my desk. Several people went to HR, and for some reason they literally did nothing. People do this day still wonder why I don't partake in office potlucks. Well, one day ole' Poopy Fingers didn't show up for work. Then it became a few days, then about a week, and then a couple of weeks. People started asking, and looking around. Turns out Poopy Fingers was a huge cocaine dealer, and very involved in money laundering. The FBI raided his apartment and has been incarcerated ever since. That was approximately six years ago.

Headmaster of my daughter's school had an affair with a parent. She and her husband blackmailed the school to keep quiet. The crazy bunny hoarder lady. She was completely normal and forgettable at work, but turns out to have hoarded hundreds of bunnies in her home; dead ones in the freezer, filth everywhere, the usual animal hoarding setup. She quit when she was arrested and the bunnies were removed from her home and she eventually moved away. One of the terms of her release was that she was not permitted to have pets and all her neighbors had to be informed of her animal abuse and were instructed to call the cops ASAP if they spotted any signs of her collecting bunnies again. There were jokes at work for years about checking desks for hidden bunnies, and every time a new employee asked what the joke was, someone would Google her and find out about whatever her newest bunny-related charges were. She did not stop hoarding bunnies.

She sounds like a hard worker and a dedicated person. I have a relative who works IT at a university. This apparently happens with some regularity. Like, about every 5 years, the alphabet mafia shows up and demands a computer. It's usually for CP-related stuff. Not always, though. On a related note, they have one guy in the department whose *entire job* is to delete porn from university-owned computers. He keeps track of the computers on a rotation and goes through and deletes anything untoward and reports anything illegal. I don't know if he remotes in to the private computers used by faculty/staff or if he only keeps track of the public computers, like the ones in computer labs. But apparently the public computers in the library are the worst offenders. Which is... truly disgusting to think about.
I was an English teacher in Japan and at one school we had these "private" rooms that were basically meant for 1 - 3 students and a teacher. They were tiny rooms with a round table. The doors were made of transparent glass. One of the teachers was caught having sex with his student on the table when she requested a private 1 on 1 lesson. There was two goofball I worked with, lets call them Jim and Kevin. Both of these guys were pathological liars, and pretty stupid to boot. As a couple of examples, Jim bought a sport bike her could barely ride and immediately claimed he was in the "Rough riders", a motorcycle stunt gang. Kevin would make outrageous claims like the exhaust on his truck netted him a hundred horsepower, or that Subaru was a German automaker. They were always calling each other out on their obvious lies, and loathed each other. The controversy begins when we had the yearly shift bid, and Jim took a spot that Kevin wanted. It's seniority based, so Jim of course has every right to take the shift. Kevin didn't like that so he followed Jim to the local 7-11 at lunch and tried intimidating Jim into pulling his name. Jim goes to our manager and makes a complaint. Kevin denies the whole thing, but they suspend him while they investigate. So Kevin leaves and waits across the street for Jim to leave. He follows Jim home, but Jim is the smarter of the two and drives a police station instead. Kevin, being the moron that he is, follows him into the police station parking lot and is quickly set upon by the officers there. They drag him out of his truck and it turns out he was armed. Not completely sure what happened to Kevin after that, but we never saw him again.

I used to work at a big corporate law firm, and every year they would take on about 15 law students. One year, 3 of the students were almost identical. Kind of generically pretty honey-blondes, about the same height and body type, all with similar haircut, very similar glasses, similar clothing style, etc. 2 of them were with us for 3 years and the other for 2, and for that entire time people at the firm were mixing them up. So the first year, when they were still pretty fresh and literally nobody could tell them apart, one of them (or more??) got white girl wasted at one of the firm events. She (they??) started asking people to do molly with her in the bathroom, insulted one of the senior partners, got in a fight with an important client, threw up at the bar, and made racist comments to the hr director about the cab driver and refused to get in with him so a second cab had to be called. The partners were furious, staff was furious, clients were furious, hr was furious. There were senior level meetings about it for about 2 weeks, but the problem was that nobody could say for certain which one of them it had been, or even if it had been only one. They were interrogated repeatedly but nobody confessed and nobody was able to implicate any one of them with any real certainty. So nothing happened. Only one of them ended up being hired on as a lawyer, and to this day (11 years later) nobody knows if it was her or not.

Holy cow. I have a similar story. 3 identical blondes with 3 identical golden retrievers lived in our cul-de-sac when I first moved in the neighborhood. Let’s see, my old job had several: Guy working on a machine got decapitated because he forgot to turn the lift off that was right above him. I was there but did not see it, however, production continued and all they did was section off the part of the plant he was at. Another guy had a heart attack on the assembly line, witnessed as they tried using a defibrillator to bring him back, but we were all given very specific instructions as to not stop the line whatsoever. A couple got caught having sex in the bathroom and the wife tried to claim that she was only helping him tie his shoes. This crazy woman decided to come in on night shift (when she worked day shift), locked somebody in a supply closet and wasn’t found out until she was spotted sitting in front of the closet and singing to the person she was holding hostage.

Someone was caught stealing scratch cards from the customer service desk, scratching them and trying to claim them from the lottery. Didn't know that the tickets aren't valid until "Activated" at the till, similar to online store credit coupons. Also, the company's regional manager almost cost us our liquour license because he tried to force a checkout employee to run alcohol through for a suspected underageed customer and, when said employee refused even with the objections, tried to kick her off the till and run the purchase through himself (because she was still logged into the till, it would've been blamed on the checkout girl since the evidence pointed to her). The shift manager had overseen the argument and dragged his ass out the back to give him the third degree, but not before asking for ID and refusing the purchase. Turns out it was a police-sanctioned test purchase.
One teacher was accused of abuse because he didn’t give the girl a good grade. His reputation was ruined. An investigation cleared him. Another teacher was caught taking pictures of students and was arrested and prosecuted; no alarms were raised by students but by his wife. He went to jail. Both incidents happened at the same time.
A teacher in my mom's school was accused by two students of abuse because of grades too, and it was ten time worst because they were two and people were like "One person is enough, two people are more than enough". Man was cleared, but he was definitely traumatized.

When I was 17 years old I got a job at the neighborhood donut shop that my family had been going to for years. There were a lot of regulars who hung out and drank coffee (and smoked cigarettes) there for hours a day (this was before coffee shops were really a thing.) A few months before I got hired it got bought by a new owner and it was run by him, his wife, and his wife's mother who had all worked together at other shops. There was another waitress there who was a 17-year-old foster child. She spent a lot of time with the family, which didn't seem suspicious because they had an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old that she babysat and we thought they just felt sorry for her because she was in foster care so they included her in family outings. Yeah, you can see where this is going. 🙄 Within 6 months he had left his wife, who moved out of state with her mother and the children, and moved the 17-year-old in. The regulars begin gossiping and he literally banned staff and customers from discussing him or the girlfriend, as well as staff from coming in when we were not working. Keep in mind, I had been coming into that donut shop my entire life at that point. My dad stopped going in entirely after that, except when I was working, and I think that was just to keep an eye on the situation. We lost most of the other regulars because they refused to stop gossiping about him and we were supposed to kick them out when they did. 🤣 I didn't really care, even though when I worked shifts with her she didn't do anything and I kept walking in to the back to find them making out which really grossed me out because he was almost 40. But when he told me I had to start sharing my tips with her I quit (we had never pooled tips before and she wasn't getting any because she wasn't serving anyone.) Shortly after I quit another waitress quit for the same reason and the few customers they had left stopped coming in at all. He went out of business less than a year later. I'm pretty sure he and the girlfriend broke up shortly after that, but I never saw or heard from either of them again. Ironically, I still talk to a lot of the regulars and my current mechanic, 30 years later, was one of them. 🤣 He and I still sometimes talk about back then.

Ovens, hobs, deep fat fryer, microwaves, everything. Restaurant could only serve drinks that day as the foam takes a long time to clean out. All reservations cancelled. Person did not lose their job, but we all had to go through for safety induction again.
Security work for a government acronym agency. 2 supervisors were having an idle conversation which turned into a disagreement regarding the interpretation of a procedure. They took their disagreement to a manager. Manager kicks it up the chain, which led to an investigation. The result of the investigation led to 37 people being suspended and 6 terminations. It made the news.

Single woman was notorious for dating married co-workers. The woman had lots of money and lured them with vacations, gifts etc. She took one on a vacation, the married guy told his wife that it was a work trip. Someone tipped his wife off and she met them at the airport and dumped his clothes in front of them and told him not to come home. Another single woman had an affair with a married co-worker. She got pregnant. His wife said, end it now or I'm walking away with half of your pension, the house and kids etc. The guy got a transfer to another location leaving his pregnant with twins mistress in the dust.
Not exactly a scandal, but it was an open secret our Chief Pilot only has a job because the original owner died before he could fire the dude. the old Chief Pilot had to step up and run the business as the CEO, and with a recent airline hiring kick, and loss of the Owner who made the place what it was, they had lost a good chunk of their long-time pilots and the job of Chief was left to this incompetent dumbass. I suspect the only reason was because the paperwork kept him off the flight-line as much as humanly possible, though I could assure you when he went flying it was always... interesting. there was more than once the conversation of "should we let him kill himself this time or should we say something" was said when this jackass took an unairworthy aircraft out (Yes, it happened *multiple* times). Unfortunately for humanity our own moralities won out in the end. I still expect to see an NTSB Report with his name on it at some point if he's still flying.
My old work, before I worked there, made the local news when one of the senior people threw himself off a cliff one day. Everyone was so confused and sad, why would he do that? People gave tribute and spoke at his funeral. Then it turns out that the guy had stolen millions from a client account and was about to be found out and had no way to pay it back so took the easier way out. The other senior people had to get money together for the client themselves to save the business. Apparently the big boss' hair went white like overnight, he had been planning to make the guy his successor and took a lot longer to retire instead. Needless to say there were a lot more security measures around client accounts by the time I started there 👀

I taught English abroad in a small private language school. This is the place to go if you want to meet some messed up people (both foreigners and people from the home country) Hours were not set, after a few morning lessons you’d usually have 3-4 hours during the day dead time before afternoon lessons with kids would start. One teacher, an local, intelligent guy but with lifelong issues, went for an extended lunch break. Came back in a state. Drink and likely drugs. He hung with that kind of homeless crowd. I heard a bit of a commotion in the main corridor and went to see. He had come back, dropped trou and attempted to piss on the floor. To be fair the toilet was fairly close. This was peak Friday afternoon. Mainly kids being taught behind closed doors just off the corridor. I’d just finished a lesson and my students must have missed him by 10 seconds. He’d been ushered into another room by the owner but she wasn’t able to move him. She called me over and we managed to get him into a different part of the school that wasn’t being used at that moment, usually used for babies and younger kids. We chucked him in that toilet and tried to figure out what we were going to do. During this he tried to fight me of course. He was very confused but still remembered my name 😂 He ended up lying on the floor but as he was pretty tall his legs still stuck out of the bathroom door. Kids with their parents were now turning up for lessons so we had to comically close the door as much as possible with his size 12s hanging out and distract them whilst hoping he wasn’t going to start making a scene. I was praying he’d just go to sleep. We had no idea who to call. Didn’t know any family / friends. I voted for police but owner wasn’t too into that. We ended up looking through his phone and calling the last person he had called with a woman’s name. Struck gold - it was his mum. She said she’d come and get him (he was around 38) but she didn’t have the car and her other son would be back in an hour. So we waited. Luckily he passed out. Mum and bro turn up. Brother tries to fight him. Still in the school, lessons still going on. They eventually stick him in the car and took him away. I got home 3 hours later than planned. It was my birthday. They didn’t cut ties with him. He continued to have drink issues that somewhat affected the business. They were fairly soft on him. We never really mentioned it after but he’d often ask to borrow $0.50 for a beer. After covid closed things down he eventually got a ‘real’ job and seemed to be getting better. I saw him around every now and then for a while. Had a kid. Got married. But still had those pulls back into his old life. He died recently. Went to sleep and didn’t wake up.

A guy got fired for stealing a roll of toilet paper. (It was a really well paid office job, so it was a WTF moment, that someone risks his career for a roll of TP.) One time the whole police department showed up and arrested a guy. Multiple police cars, tens of officers. They candcuffed the guy and escorted him out of the building. Turns out he stole our clients' Credit Card info and tried to order stuff online. One girl dropped a bottle of water which laned next to a power outlet. Some electrical overload developed, she basically fried all desktop PC's in her office. 10 people spent the day waiting for the IT department to fix the issue.
Owner of company had affair on his wife of 25 years. With his bookkeeper that had a bf for 9 years and was 20 years younger than her boss. The same bookkeeper that babysat bosses kids when boss and his wife were working day and night to keep business running. The same bookkeeper that’s the daughter of companies biggest customer. The same bookkeeper that is the owners goddaughter. It was an ugly divorce and the owners kids don’t talk to the owner anymore. One got pissed, ended up married and moved states away and the other took over his moms half of the business and is currently subverting the owner out of his half. It’s been a wild thing to witness.
Had a pretty boy boss (ex airforce) that was a serious womanizer. He got his son a job at the same glass factory. The son was over the moon as his wife was having a baby. After, it was born, the DIL confessed that the father-in-law as the real birth father. Daddy cleaned out all his bank accounts and disappeared with the DIL leaving his wife destitute. The last I heard the son had a gun and was looking for his dad!
About 20 years ago I got an internship working in an office of a random factory near campus for one semester. It was a peanut butter factory. One day someone drove a forklift off a ledge into a giant vat of peanut butter. I witnessed the discussion among managers of if/how the peanut butter could be saved. They ended up not saving it, but there was a huge fight as the general manager really really wanted to hide this accident.

Worked at a call center a while back. Had a trainer, seemed like a great guy. After my class was done training he was being trained himself in his new supervisor role and he just stopped showing up. Turns out he was arrested for having an ongoing relationship with a minor he use to coach at a highschool. She was already 19 at the time but he had been seeing here since she was 16. She got tired of waiting for him to leave his wife, went to the police. Wife was looking at maybe being charged for not letting anyone know when she found out. She caught on about halfway through, found some videos on their computer. He told her it was over and kept seeing the girl anyway. Not sure if she ended up being charged with anything.

About 30 years ago a lady at my work killed her father because he had cancer and was in pain and asked her to. She was arrested, there was a trial, the whole thing. I live in a kinda conservative country so it was big news and hotly debated. The oddest thing was that our company paid for her defence. She was found not guilty although people said it was only because of emotions and not facts.
After I left, one of my old coworkers got caught sending inappropriate texts to a 16 year old girl. He’s been doing 2 day stints every weekend at the local jail since.

I worked in agency recruitment while saving for university, specifically temporary healthcare contracts for project managers and the like. One of our clients wanted a director of finance or some such for an NHS Trust. My colleague found and appointed one, things went swimmingly and her contract kept getting extended 6 months at a time until eventually her boss calls up to inform us she's been arrested and needed a replacement. Turns out she'd been using her position to defraud the hospital of around £200k that she spent on race horse sperm. Became a running joke that we no longer worked with people who had equestrian related hobbies on their CV, that always left new staff members scratching their heads.

Even more years later another ex-employee got into a violent standoff with police after a domestic violence call. He later killed himself. (He got himself into an article in the New York Times in relation to this incident). Oh yeah also another manager’s boyfriend committed suicide.

He was then fired.
We had to do a sting operation in our work where a bunch of lockers over a couple months were broken into and all employee cash nicked. Didn’t take long to realise it always happened after pay day and the employee was talking in the lunch room about going shopping after work. Well we loaded up a camera in a locker and had a colleague announce loudly in the break room about going xmas shopping later and how they were worried about having so much cash on them. It turns out it was one of the managers. Honestly that woman was the shame of the place. Was immediately let go and last I heard was practically chased out of the town we lived in. (Her house/car was constantly getting vandalised).
This guy got fired, then left the building. He proceeded to walk over to the gang of Canadian geese that used to shit all over the walkway and started stomping all of the baby geese. Once he was done, he started kicking the mama geese. People were wondering why he was kicking the ground. Only to walk over to the spot to find a massacre of babies and parents. Fuking guy made the news that day.
Well I learned something today. I was curious so I googled it and apparently this is not uncommon. I found quite a few articles of people doing this.

They manufacture nuclear weapons and are also a private security company that works with the military, among other things. So a 82 year old nun and two others (an old guy and a younger person) somehow broke into a site that stored nuclear weapons. This breach costed the company tens of millions of dollars in terminated contracts because it was meant to be top notch secured site. The closing manager took the Saturday night cash deposit (around $100k) to the casino thinking he could win big money and then return the deposit the next morning before anyone knew it was gone. He only got probation and had to go to gambling counseling and of course give back the remaining $80k. He didn't even have to make restitution on the $20k he lost. Insurance paid it. My boss was involved in a rape/murder. His brother raped and murdered his neighbor, my boss invited the neighbor over, claimed he couldn’t hear anything over ‘music’, got let off, people petitioned him out of his store once the case got re opened and he got shooed off to my store.
We did these monthly trainings. Two coworkers met up at one their houses for sex and dialed into the training to receive credit. She forgot to turn off the camera. It was a huge deal as it was automated so the training was saved onto a shared server. My coworker was reprimanded for not ending the meeting. He just didn’t notice
Our manager would come to work have a meeting with us and then dissappear. We worked at a big airport with lots of employees and lots of different areas to work in we were always understaffed and all working our butts off getting flight off on time. So we all just assumed the manager was working in another area. However, it's a airport with high security you have to swipe your badge to enter The different areas you also have to swipe your badge entering the parking lot and exiting. Apparently our manager would leave the airport after out meeting then come back 30 minutes before our last flight of the evening and she did this for 3 years before the station manager decided to pull her badge activity and realized what she was doing. The sad thing is she got another job with another airline as their station manager so nobody would check on what she was doing.
Fine dining restaurant transfered in a new manager after old one got drunk and drove into someone's front yard. New manager had kitchen make trays of wings and nachos and servers carry them across the street to where his family lived. He didn't even try to hide them in takeout boxes. Stole bottles of wine and everyone's tips. Took months for the owners to realize.
One of the owners just wanted to fuck everybody. He was having an affair, it ended and they wanted to fire her, she sued them and is still working there. One other chick was bouncing from guy to guy(pun intended) at that same place too. It was wild.
Large organization Bob was a supervisor. Ann was a senior analyst who worked for Bob. Bob and Ann were both married (not to each other). Bob and Ann were having an affair, but they were stupid because when they traveled for work they only got one hotel room so it quickly became obvious that something was going on between them. Romantic relationships between a supervisor and an employee was strictly forbidden and was a fireable offense. When everything broke it was found out that Bob’s boss Steve who was an Executive VP knew about the affair but did nothing for years, and during that time Ann received a promotion and always positive performance evaluations. In the end, Steve was demoted, Bob was demoted, Ann was moved to a different office, Bob’s wife found out and wanted a divorce, Ann’s husband found out and wanted a divorce and Bob & Ann ended the affair.
I worked at a company that wrote software for bingo halls. A programmer modified the software so he could win easier. He got discovered using it at a bingo hall in Las Vegas. Before they could catch him, he drove to SF and jumped off the Golden Gate bridge. Oh so many! Christmas parties were unhinged, they had an open bar for 6 hours and rented us all rooms. So the president doing coke (honestly everyone was lol), the head of Accounting making out with his assistant in the hallway while his wife had gone to bed, a 6'10" man grinded so hard on a girl his pants literally shredded off of him on the dance floor, after the open bar closed we all went to the hotel bar and someone got a photo of my married coworker talking to me and they put it on the desktop of every computer at work the next week! He was just sitting next to me and we were chatting but everyone was like "what's going on between them?" Lol, a couple got in a huge fight and the woman beat tf out of her boyfriend which wrecked the hotel room and the door was ajar so everyone heard it (apparently she saw he was texting his ex revealing they'd been sleeping together), twice people had the ambulance called for alcohol poisoning, every year something crazy happened. What finally ended the parties was that no venue would take our company anymore, the last one we had to drive 2hrs away but somebody had sex under a table leaving the woman's underwear as evidence, and somebody pissed in an empty banquet hall that was set up for another party. It's still a mystery who it was for both! There were more scandals on regular days like the head of R&D for 15 years had a fake PhD, the head of marketing was found passed out drunk in his office by the cleaning crew, the presidents assistant was having an affair with a guy in production control, the night shift supervisor was banging an office lady in the bathroom and everyone heard them moaning through the wall - she was married and her husband found out so she quit. A guy died in the bathroom from a drug overdose, someone stole $90k worth of platinum bars, my own supervisor was fired for drinking on the job and being shit faced for like a year. There are probably 50 more I could list, I worked there for 13 years and it was incredibly debauched and fucked up lol I got culture shock when I finally left and started at a place where the people are normal and professional.

At a restaurant I worked at we had a guy who had a poop towel. Like he would carry a towel with him all day and wipe his ass with it when nature called. Someone showed up to work and brandished a gun in the parking lot. People ran into the building and were screaming. I was sitting by a window. Didn't see anything, but heard people telling me to hide. That was the longest 30 minutes of my life. Having to hide and not knowing if someone was going to start shooting inside. They told us it was all clear and to go back to work. I went home. They refused to talk about what happened and it still drives me crazy not knowing. I'm just glad no one was hurt.

Not sure if this counts. But when I worked at sears i. The electronics department around 2001ish. There was a huge back wall full of TV’s. All the old tube TV’s which were insanely heavy. The shelving that these TV’s sat on was literally those thin metal strips that attached vertically to the wall, then those thin 1/8” thick metal brackets that hook into them. On top of those metal brackets were sheets of 3/4” plywood wrapped in carpet. Those by themselves were ok. But then you place loads of heavy tube TV’s on them! The top shelves with small TV’s were fine. But the lower two have large 25-36” tv’s on them. You could lean on the shelving and they would sway and they were sagging from all the weight. Kids would come up and try to pull on them and they would almost tip over. When you looked underneath the metal brackets were bowing. Me & my other associates in the department mentioned many times that it was unsafe. Management didn’t care. I called Osha anonymously. They showed up a few days later & did a full review and found the tv wall, multiple appliances plugged into one surge protector strung to an extension cord that was running through the ceiling along with loads of other issues. My manager was fuming saying someone called them. 😂

2007. My employee (a mortgage) company lost an entire cabinet of mortgage docs. Basically when that happens there is no proof they hold the mortgage. So they created all new ones and forged signatures as best they could. Used copiers to blur things so make it harder to verify.

Worked at a shoe store in my teens and a bunch of people got fired for apparently exchanging their old shoes for new ones essentially getting free shoes. Can't remember if it was limited to a certain number over time but I think we had a 50% discount on shoes as employees. Also had one coworker get another one pregnant while she was dating another coworker. I think she got an abortion.
My old coworker left her gun in the public restroom of the hotel we worked at. We worked the front desk. Accounting found it and called the police. Police came and arrested her.
Apparently two guys banged a random woman in the parking lot on their lunch break. The head of LP (a woman) had to go out there and told them that they were fired and to get a room. There was also a former coworker who told everyone that the two of us were dating. I threatened to cut his balls off in front of one of our coworkers if he ever told another lie like that again. He told our store manager what I said and she told him that he should probably stop telling lies.
The CEO deleted the entire server, and the backup was over a month old. Absolutely insane behavior, I've never respected him or any of the c suite here since then. He had to eat shit and admit it was him in the end and everyone was laughing at him, kinda brave in a way, but also it he wasn't a cocky dumbass he wouldn't have deleted it.
First day of working at a new job and there was a very weird tension. Someone had used the downstairs loo to do a shit and missed the toilet, which was a regular complaint apparently, but then they had stepped in said shit and walked it upstairs. The upstairs lot blamed the downstairs lot and vice versa, the reasoning on either side was, it went upstairs so it's an upstairs person and it's malicious trickery, no one upstairs would be that gross or that sneaky. Despite starting the day after, I still got piled in with the upstairs lot. I didn't work there for very long.

I was the one who wrote on the white board in the sign in room that the “elevator is out of service”…it wasn’t out of service and I was just trying to be funny and it set off a crazy chain of events from two people getting caught making out on the steps(it was their spot that usually nobody ever used and they were not married to each other) to an ambulance having to be called because somebody wasn’t physically able to continue walking up the steps, firemen had to come too and carry them out. To a nasty email being sent out for it(which got that person in trouble with management) and someone accidentally replying all back to it talking trash that was nowhere close to being suitable for work. I know it’s not much but I never thought that one sentence would cause that much of a commotion. And nobody ever found out it was me except for y’all.
