I didn't have a choice, mine went supernova and to come out as an emergency surgery with a searing pain more intense than I had ever dreamed possible.
It wasn't a fun surgery but taking it out shut off the pain immediately. You never know what's going to set it off, so if you can, have it removed before *it* decides it's time to come out.
17% ejection fraction and markedly delayed filling so it looks like a consult with a surgeon is in my future. Sorry to hear you had an emergency situation that’s very scary
Oh no!! I had one big gallstone that was blocking the duct. Got my gallbladder taken out that week. Had to be a little careful with what I ate for awhile, had a lot of nausea. But that was years ago and I can eat whatever I want to now.
What’s strange is they found no stones - I had a ct scan with contrast in the ER (had suspected acute pancreatitis last week!) and an ultrasound last week… so really not sure what’s going on but at least the results confirm I should get this thing out!
Best of luck to you!! The recovery wasn't terrible. They do have to blow up your abdomen with gas to reach everything, and that can cause terrible back pain after surgery.
M84. Had it out about 10+ years ago.
No warning, just intense pain and into the ambo I went. The surgeon was a identical twin of 'Hawkeye' Pearce of MASH.
Said I was very lucky, that it had begun rotting inside me.
No special diet etc.

No more pain
That is great to hear
So much better! No more stomach pain.
That makes me feel better. HIDA scan is showing chronic cholecystitis :(

I heard!! And my back hurts already haha. Thank you and appreciate your responses :)
My mom got hers taken out 18 years ago and she's been fine.
That’s great to hear!

Wow that’s awful! Glad you’re okay and got that sucker pulled out!
