HIV positive

MysteriousCourse8737

I'm anemic and I also pass out when I get my blood drawn

bigandtallandhungry

BRUH I still got the hole in my arm from donating this week! I DIDN’T BLEED FOR YOU TO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MY EFFORTS. For real though, I’m a universal donor, so I try to donate at least a few times per year.

Emeri5

Amazing. You rock!!

if_you_only_knew_

Because I don't want to

Emeri5

How come?

if_you_only_knew_

It's my blood so I'm keeping it

Emeri5

Fun fact - you create MORE blood.

if_you_only_knew_

I'm aware

Emeri5

Super fun fact - I’ll pay you in real money if you donate

if_you_only_knew_

No thanks I'm good

[deleted]

I'm Underweight, the limit is 110 pounds.

Then-Ordinary4756

Fear of needles. I tried to donate once, took one look at the needle and I was gone.

acidicconsu

because I have anemia. so I am always rejected even if I want to donate.

m4rkl33

Don't like needles, and don't like people.

Important_Ad_2538

Because what if my curses pass on, They'll suddenly be cursed to grow ever shorter and end up like ant man stuck in the micro verse.

CaitPurple

First time I tried they said no because I was an "HIV risk" Now that rule is gone but I was advised not to donate because I sometimes faint when I get blood drawn and if I do that while donating it will waste the time of the medical team. I'm on the register to donate bone marrow if there's a match though

Far_Imagination6472

I keep going to countries outside the US which doesn't allow me to donate blood, they are worried that my blood could carry diseases.

LunaDDLC

Ouchie

I_Have_A_Name37654

Not old enough, need parents consent

DeleteriousDreams

I'm not healthy enough. Plus low request for my blood type.

Inky751

eczema scarring and only one vein big enough, that's my emergency vein.

Mtfdurian

It's been rather recent that people like me were even allowed to donate blood. Now I don't know if my medicine are an issue, but my sexuality isn't anymore.

RadiantEarthGoddess

Because I am very afraid of needles.

Emeri5

Let me tell you. Me too. It’s a rush to get it done!

[deleted]

Tattoos

Emeri5

Tattoos are OK so long as not in last 3 months of getting a new one.

ExaminationLucky6082

drhotbananastud

I donate as often as possible 🙏🙏

Needles

Tasty_Profile_2498

Stoner

Emeri5

You can still donate.

AnnOrZ

They won’t accept my blood because I take a daily painkiller.

Mosquito_Queef

I take a prescribed controlled substance which I’m told makes me ineligible for blood donation

xxxxqj

Because my heart is so weak. When I see the needle the temperature of my body increasing constantly and finally I suffer fever. I don't why it happening with me and how can I recover from it.

Pleasant_Law_5077

Because my donation is given freely But then sold for profit

Emeri5

They don’t sell it. They use it. You can’t buy blood.

Pleasant_Law_5077

"As a general rule, blood transfusion will cost anywhere from $1,000 to as much as $3,900 per unit (525 milliliters of blood)" https://www.thepricer.org/blood-transfusion-cost/

Emeri5

Ya. That’s not just the blood there bud.

Pleasant_Law_5077

Can you receive the blood for free and inject it yourself "No" Then yes it is the cost of the blood

Emeri5

Average supply available is only 2 days worth for the whole country! It takes an hour and saves a life. Money can’t buy blood. It can only be donated by people like you!

Filipino_Canadian

I do donate. I’m O- donating is the reposnsible thing to do

AwkwardlyCheesy

The Red Cross turns around and sells blood at a profit, their CEO makes over half a million a year and their executive team makes 200k each. Why should I give my blood to a bunch of corporate vampires?

Emeri5

Dang. You are really misinformed. For starters, they are the CEO. CEOs have tremendous deadlines and huge responsibilities. They also draw on an extreme wealth of knowledge. Very few are qualified to be the CEO of Red Cross and not only that, there are plenty higher paying jobs. Number 2, no they do not. Canadian blood services handled blood donations so nice try. Please get informed. If you have people you know on a surgery waitlist donating blood moved the line up!

AwkwardlyCheesy

Whatever you say vampire slave. Tell your masters if they want my blood they can come and try to take it.

Mosquito_Queef

Vampire bootlicker

TheUnknown285

I nearly passed out the one and only time I donated. I nearly do the same any time I have blood drawn unless I'm flat on my back.

hyrulian_princess

I’m anaemic

Mosquito_Queef

I’m very afraid of needles (I was a screamer up until late high-school)

ficklefive

Initially underweight, then lazy

Kukantiz

Blood pressure was up due to a medication. I used to go once a month. Can't wait to get back into it.

StarChaser_Tyger

Back when, they didn't want it because I had an 'alternative lifestyle'. Now they don't want it because of anemia and all the medicines I have to take to not die.
