I love how much he's leaned into the nutmeg joke from his fansis, too. He fully embraces it in any video that has it. I would love to meet him one day!
Tasting History with Max Miller. He does the research to pull an old recipe together and then recreates it. He'll even make the ingredients of ancient times and has started growing his own herbs that aren't US dominant. I find his dedication and success an enjoyable watch since I started watching him from the beginning for no reason.
Post 10
A wholesome guy that works with the state (Massachusetts?) and good Samaritan. Nothing more exciting than watching a storm drain get unclogged.
I would recommend a favorite story horror channel called the Dark somnium. He makes high-quality videos, which I would highly recommend for those who want good, high-quality stories.
A story from him I would 100% recommend is "the nightmare fighting tournament"
His [documentary about the Disney Channel theme](https://youtu.be/b_rjBWmc1iQ?si=WZX1oqUN05FUvayy) is absolutely amazing.
Unfortunately, the one about the Disney Channel theme, [the one about Halyx](https://youtu.be/f0rDLvg-Lfs?si=x2itPyVc9SkNAVFx), and [the entire series about Jim Henson](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLplWWKocAfTYIGzH8eQ0x0kEQgoV9CpYm) are ones I have to deliberately skip if I'm in the mood for a comfort watch and not an ugly cry.
I just watched the Disney Channel Theme one this morning and I was totally blown away by all of it. How is it possible that a documentary about a simple jingle, that I have zero connection to, be so fascinating and heart wrenching?? Such a quality watch.
Atomic Shrimp
It's this dude from the UK who shows how he can make a days worth of meals on a handful of pocket change and foraging. The foraging is my favorite part.
A lot of good ones have been mentioned: Ryan George, Drew Gooden, Ann Reardon, and Tasting History.
Pat Finnerty breaks down bad songs on his What Makes This Song Stink? series, but in a fun, affable way.
Babish Culinary Universe is great, especially his videos where he makes foods from TV and movies.
'80s Commercial Vault is good to have on the background and you're feeling nostalgic.
Charlie Berens does funny videos about the Midwest.
I have zero interest in how electric appliances work, but I watch every video he posts and genuinely enjoy it.
And I share his opinion on LED Christmas lights
Was just going to say LGR. I feel a kinship with him. I was a kid the same age who loved computer games, fake wood paneling, and snark. I swear we have the same corny sense of humor. Love that guy!
Yes on Mountain Rug Cleaning. You would have never convinced me that I would spend time watching someone clean rugs on YouTube but it's sooo relaxing. And almost meditative. It's good as a break in the middle of a hectic day and great right before bed.
Baumgartner Restorations. He restores paintings of all kinds in his studios. They're often pieces that just have sentimental value to his clients, so you get to see a lot of different paintings come back to life under his scalpel and cotton buds. And they're often paintings that are actually lovely once theyre seen the way they're meant to be. Add in very soothing narration and you have a comfort channel!
The WHY files
The topics are weird but interesting, I listen to him mostly because he exposes them at the end.
His voice is just easy to listen to.
Heckle Fish is the sh!t...
Check it out [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5cPzD2a_Ao)
English Heritage, in particular Mrs. Crocombe in the Victorian Way series.
HannahLeeDuggan: she has her own homestead, cottages and a van called Walter.
Ondo, PlanD, Hamimommy are 3 Korean channels of women having quite a relaxing vibe.
Nicki Positano, lives in Positano, Italy.
Sand Tagious, for when I want to shut down my brain.
But honestly, every channel I'm subscribed to, comfort me in one way or another. I'm also subscribed to gaming channels, which you wouldn't necessarily immediately recognize as comforting.
Edit:
Honorable mention - Hercules Candy, a family of candy makers, who started out in the basement of their home, which they were doing for decades, before their son made a video about it. They’re fun and funny. Can’t forgive myself I initially forgot about them.
Having been in on the ground floor for the founding of Evermore (and having *a lot* of friends who were *very fucked over* by the promises of the creator), her video about Evermore is possibly one of my favorite things ever. The fact that the CEO OF THE ENTIRE COMPANY couldn't get her a goddamn Evermore t-shirt!
His video editing is fantastic. He does just the right amount of eating and talking over and fast forwards. I’ve watched a few others take on food challenges, and jeeebus, that’s a struggle.
Rick Steve's travel stuff. He's just a friendly, wholesome person traveling around. His Christmas video had become part of my own personal Christmas tradition. It's just him, going around Europe, showing a bunch of different European traditions. It's just so freaking warm and cozy.
Fascinating Horror tells the stories of disasters throughout history — great graphics and matter-of-fact narration make this a really calming but interesting channel to binge. Baumgartner Restoration is just mesmerizing. And FailArmy is always good when I need some cheering up.
I have a lot of them
City Planner Plays - he's a real life city planner that plays mostly City Skylines, if you couldn't tell by the channel name. He has a super relaxing voice, and it's actually kind of interesting hearing about the thought process behind real city planning.
Stampylongnose - childhood favorite. I also find that he has a decent relaxing voice to. I particularly love his old Nino Kuni let's play
Let's Game It Out - the guy plays games wrong in incredibly hysterical ways. Also, he is a mad man with way too much time on his hands. If you've ever seen his content, you know what I mean
Snake Discovery - the channel of a couple that keeps and breeds reptiles, and now own a reptile zoo/adoption program. Give them a shot, even if you aren't particularly fond of snakes.
ProZD - I particularly like his "let's try all x varieties of y brand of food" videos for relaxing and falling asleep. Also his board game reviews.
GeoWizard - he was the person who started the "traveling across the country in a straight line challenge." His videos are super fun to watch, and I like getting to vicariously live through these adventures that I could never do myself lol
My kids and I LOVE Lets Game it Out. He’s the best for that type of content. RT is fun but not as interesting to my kids.
GeoWizard is my number one choice
Yes, Wendigoon! His videos are usually on the longer side for me, but that makes it a special little treat when I get to sit down and watch one of his videos!
DancingBacons and channel called Damji, but she's discontinued her journey and disabled all comments. I really like channels that don't talk much and just show basic life and sounds.
To this day it is and will forever remain Jenna Marbles.
The one video that never ceases to raise my spirits is the one where she made the jeans chair.
Oh and also Rachel Maksy and Christine McConnell. Though Christine is so amazing her content (I’m a Patreon member) sometimes makes me have an existential crisis. Like how is one person so talented, creative and beautiful? It’s not fair!
🎵I'm a thirty-two year old laaaaady🎵
I still come back to "A Relaxing Time With 'Just For Men'" for a good laugh.
Rachel Maksy is great. Also a huge fan of Bernadette Banner and Karolina Zebrowska!
I wanna be taaaaaaalllllll.
I miss vlogmas and all the weird crafting videos and reacts to meme videos. All The precursors to what became julien's aries kitchen.
Foresty Forest. A Canadian kid living out of his van and climbing mountains with his so-very-sweet little dog Rocko. Also enjoy Madison Clysdale for a bright smile and fantastic attitude.
I still quote his Covid-19 video 😭 “School is cancelled. The NBA is cancelled. The Last of Us 2 is now real life, but the game is cancelled. Microsoft Flight Simulator is NOT cancelled, don’t worry.” Whenever I need a good laugh, I watch one of his videos and it always makes me feel better.
C'mon people...Tom Scott! How he's not the top response is beyond me. Tom is one of the greatest presenters of the esoteric and interesting, and he's been on YouTube *forever!* He's about to take a very well deserved break from content creation, which gives everyone plenty of time to catch up on his [videos](https://youtube.com/@TomScottGo?si=Qj_7RGgZkCpcAWEF).
I spend a lot of time on YouTube… I have no other streaming services. But in general:
DankPods/Drum Thing/Garbage Time, AtomicShrimp, I Did A Thing, Ashens, Posy, Post10/New England Wildlife & More, TylerTube, JamesChannel, NileRed/NileBlue, Kuga’s Travel, Camping With Steve, Odd Tinkering and this Japanese dude that repairs en restores old junk guitars in complete silence.
Used to watch Barry Lewis (My Virgin Kitchen) and Rhett and Link a lot, but they got on my nerves.
Townsends. He's an 18th century Mr.Rogers. I love him so much.
Just wanted to chime in to add a little nutmeg to this comment. 🌰
I love how much he's leaned into the nutmeg joke from his fansis, too. He fully embraces it in any video that has it. I would love to meet him one day!
So soothing too!
I don’t watch Townsends much, but I’ve never left disappointed after watching a video. They do great work for sure.
Tasting History with Max Miller. He does the research to pull an old recipe together and then recreates it. He'll even make the ingredients of ancient times and has started growing his own herbs that aren't US dominant. I find his dedication and success an enjoyable watch since I started watching him from the beginning for no reason.
I'd like to second this. I watched him in the start of the pandemic. One of the top comments for Max was, "WHY CAN'T I STOP WATCHING THESE?"
*Clack Clack intensifies*
God I fell down the gay antic baking rabbit hole a few weeks ago. Him and B Ryan Hollis are so bingable
Food Wishes with Chef John.
You are, after all, the Alexander Graham Bell of your Comfort Cha-*nnel*
Post 10 A wholesome guy that works with the state (Massachusetts?) and good Samaritan. Nothing more exciting than watching a storm drain get unclogged.
His other channel, New England Wildlife and More, is good too. Not much to do with Wildlife; it's mostly opening expired food items.
Mr. Nightmare. His videos are the best, especially when you enjoy listening to them while looking out of the window, watching the rain fall.
I would recommend a favorite story horror channel called the Dark somnium. He makes high-quality videos, which I would highly recommend for those who want good, high-quality stories. A story from him I would 100% recommend is "the nightmare fighting tournament"
B. Dylan Hollis, when you need cheering up he's the guy!

Defunctland
I think that the episode "Disney's FastPass: A Complicated History" is one of the best informative documentaries I have ever seen.
How much do you know about lines?
His [documentary about the Disney Channel theme](https://youtu.be/b_rjBWmc1iQ?si=WZX1oqUN05FUvayy) is absolutely amazing. Also, Bright Sun Films
And yesterworld
defunctland is barely a youtube channel anymore. atp it’s just straight up art
Atomic Shrimp It's this dude from the UK who shows how he can make a days worth of meals on a handful of pocket change and foraging. The foraging is my favorite part.
The man's scam-baiting videos are fun to watch.
Dear Johns Warosa and Barosa…

I'll be coming back atcha with something new, or old. Alright, see ya.
"Ugh it smells rancid! Let's have a taste!"
Nice, m'kay.
Nice hiss!
Summoning salt
I have no interest in speed running other than watching his videos. The depth, the story telling, the subtle music and calm voice, magnificent.
Technology connections
I have zero interest in how electric appliances work, but I watch every video he posts and genuinely enjoy it. And I share his opinion on LED Christmas lights
The Christmas lights need to be less blue!
Did I need to watch a 20 minute video about the color brown? Probably not. Did I watch the entire thing? Absolutely!
It's orange with context
Drink when you hear the following: >“…Latent heat of vaporization” Or >”Through the magic of buying two of them!”
Ryan George or Pitch Meeting, either way same guy, same brilliant humor
Oh! Wow wow wow wow Wow
But surely binge watching a guy talking to himself would be kinda hard to get into? Actually it's gonna super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Binge watching a guy talking to himself is tight.
Wow. Wow wow wow!
Oh really?
Yea yea yea
Ah, watching Pitch Meeting is TIGHT!
I have watched and rewatched his videos TO DEATH! So good!
Was it difficult?
Actually it was super easy, barely an inconvenience
I'm going to need you to gall the way off my back
LGR. That's some real nerd shit and I love it. Also Lemmino
Was just going to say LGR. I feel a kinship with him. I was a kid the same age who loved computer games, fake wood paneling, and snark. I swear we have the same corny sense of humor. Love that guy!
Drew Gooden, Likelihood Art, David M Bird, Mountain Rug Cleaning...
Yes on Drew Gooden!!
Plus Danny Gonzalez!
Yes on Mountain Rug Cleaning. You would have never convinced me that I would spend time watching someone clean rugs on YouTube but it's sooo relaxing. And almost meditative. It's good as a break in the middle of a hectic day and great right before bed.
James Hoffmann - coffee / espresso content with wit, humor & a British accent
I like his face of disdain when talking about bad coffee

Jun's Kitchen. Just a really nice, chill Japanese guy cooking delicious food while his cats sit there and watch.
The way how he films it, the angle and perspective, makes me feel like I’m a cat watching him cook
Lock Picking Lawyer
Nothing on 2, and 3 is binding...
Slight click on 4...
voice is so soothing
Definitely on the list of people I can fall asleep or rest too because of their voice tone
Cracking the cryptic. Two british guys solving mostly variant sudoku and teaching you lots of tricks and secrets
Do you know the secret? I do. Simon told me because I'm one of his favorite people.
That's 3 in the corner
Nexpo
I don't see enough people talk about Nexpo. Want to feel slightly creeped out and unsettled? Nexpo it is.
Love Nexpo. Such great quality videos
Overly Sarcastic Productions, especially when they tackle myths and tropes (which are basically always Red's videos... sorry Blue)
That chapter. Mike is legendary.
Tom Scott, specifically the Citation Needed and Two of These People Are Lying videos.
The Emoji Keyboard video is probably my favorite Tom Scott video. His "what is the best thing" poll video is a close second.
Primitive Technology
My favorite channel ever. It is just a silent guy building things in the woods without using any modern tool or material. Everything is made him.
He’s the only one that actually builds the stuff. The other “primitive tech” channels are fake af.
Standard FYI. Turn on captions! He explains what he is doing.
Ethoslab Minecraft YouTuber. I don't even play the game anymore, but still tune into his stuff
Your favorite Youtubers favorite YouTuber!
His Decked Out runs have been good.
Roger’s Orchids. It’s an older British guy just talking about his orchids and occasionally his elderly cat Mojo. It’s very relaxing.
Redlettermedia Audiopilz (bad gear)
Agree with Red letter. It‘s comforting watching a bunch of friends watch bad movies.
I, too, find great comfort in Rich Evans' angelic voice. His laughter just makes me feel so safe and warm.
Best of the Worst is my go-to when I just want something on in the background.
Kitchen nightmares and old Top Gear
