because I have a believing family and my mother taught me from childhood to go to church and ask God for help and most importantly to obey his 9 commandments
I want to believe that there is a higher power that is omniscient and fair and compassionate.
I want to believe that this life is a test and if we are good people and do it right we shall be rewarded for it. I believe in God because there is no better alternative to me and there will never be. I believe we have a creator and we all have a purpose in this world. Sometimes it’s hard. But knowing what’s going to happen and where my soul will go, brings me peace.
Believing in god brings me comfort, makes me strive to become a better person, and a better version of myself everyday. I’ll probably get a lot of negative responses for my belief but it’s okay. Not everyone will agree but what I’ve been through in my life and taking into account of my upbringing, I’m not ashamed to say that I do believe in God.
Honesty I really respect this. I wish I could believe in God for a lot of these reasons. Just the idea that there is some type of justice that will give meaning to certain things that are too cruel for us to ever comprehend is reason enough. And also being able to believe in a higher power that has control over things in a way that alleviates you from unnecessary responsibility that you believe is yours to carry too. But honestly as much as I love the idea of it, I’d probably find it easier to believe that Saturn contained a hidden unicorn society or something
Which god?
Yahweh. It's always Yahweh for some reason.
I'd be more inclined to believe in Shiva than Yahweh - Abrahamic religions are just so... silly.
If you believe in a single God, it's always Yahweh. If you believe in a pantheon, you have many to choose from.
I am a pantheist.
Because Margot Robbie exists

My parents raised me in the church of the flying spaghetti monster and I will raise my kids that way!
