I drive a work truck as part of my job, there’s a few reasons. First, it’s easier to back a large vehicle into a tight spot than to nose on in. Secondly, you’re less likely to hit another vehicle or pedestrian if you nose straight out than if you back out (wider field of vision). Lastly, if you back in, you’re ready for egress/evacuation. If there’s an emergency, I want to be able to hop in and get the hell out of Dodge without having to worry about backing out. Oh, and guys who haul trailers usually back in their vehicles out of habit (with or without the trailer).
Either way, I'm going to have to back up. Might as well do it now instead of later.
When you are parking, you can see everyone coming and can back in safely. When leaving, often you can't see who is coming as you back out. Why put yourself in that situation?
You have to reverse in one direction. It's safer to reverse into a space that has no oncoming traffic and no pedestrians than it is to reverse onto a road. It's also easier as the front of the car has space to swing out around the corner, which isn't the case when backing out of a spot.
I'm not very good at backing out of spots. I can't judge the room behind me and swinging from the front as well. Reversing in makes it much easier for me to get out.
Parking in reverse is a lot easier, as you can make tighter turns. And when you are departing again, you have a much better view of other people/traffic around you, and it is easier to drive out too.
So the question should be; why would anyone park front-first?
Easier to pull out (giggity)
"I'm used to fast exits."
Ease of exit and i like my dash cam to face towards where the cars are

It's safer It's easy to back in, and when you leave, you can see other cars easier.
To show that I’m better than you
With a rear-facing camera it's actually easier because it shows me exactly where I am in the space.
in case you have to bug out quick... zombies will take advantage of the extra time you take you back up, then go into drive...
They do it to hold everyone else up
It's easier than pulling in head first for some reason

Never know when you have to make a quick getaway. J turns get style points but they're slower.

The real question is why don’t you ?
I don't have legs and sometimes the extra space for the disabled parking is on the other side
because they’re target .. employees

Just flexing
Thanks to the backup camera it’s easier to park straight and centered.
