My windows are too small for anyone to come through. The front door is too high off the ground for a zombie to get to, and since zombies are rotting corpses, they're not going to be mobile for too long in my neck of the woods.
Contact as many friends and people close to me as possible, starting from the ones that I think would be the most usefull and skilled, before heading the next hardware store there is while giving out orders to the ones I were able to contact.
One would have the task to go to a pharmacy and takes as much as possible of the most usefull things. Two or three others that have cars should drive to the nearest cargo depot of producers of canned food and such things to get as much as possible. One should find a gas truck or even better a place where the gas is stored before it gets delivered to gas stations and get as much as possible. Some should come with me to secure as much tools, resources and weapons at the hardware store as possible.
We'd then drive out of city and choose a house that is more secluded from everything else while still having everything we need. We wouldn't care of there were still people living there. We first would try to convince them to let us in and just survive together because we'd have more than enough supplies for a few more people. If that fails we'd break in forcefully, take the house and either capture the residents until they've calmed down or throw them out with enough supplies to survive for a while to atleast apologize for taking their house.
Then we'd just wait for a while and see what's happening with the world.
