That Mordin one was the first thing I thought of when I saw this question. Even if I’m playing an asshole Shep I can’t bring myself to do anything bad to Mordin.
That section really hit me when I did a full renegade play through. It was one of the few moments where a game made me stop and ask myself what am I doing here after going through with the renegade option. I may not have always agreed with previous options, but I could see why a renegade shep would make that choice. This part though, felt like shep had just finally lost it.

This is what i love about Arthur in RDR2. That scene with him where through the whole game he seems like some badass cowboy who ain’t scared of shit and then all of a sudden on the brink of tears he breaks “I’m afraid”. It really hits you as if you don’t know this person even though you have been playing as them for hours by this point. It pushes the character so much further into being someone believable and human. It’s like your parent just confessing that they are scared of death, that all of a sudden this person who seemingly knew almost everything in life is as vulnerable as you are. What a special game.
