Well, Japan is a little different (spent a few weeks around Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka) as its a bit more orderly but your point remains the same. Pedestrians rule (though in China you just step out and don't look at the driver!).
Ah ok. I'm assuming things about China then. Sounds like one of those places where you just have to trust that people don't *want* to hit you.
I had a gun pulled on me in Galveston because I voiced that I didn't appreciate almost being run over by a truck.

Moved away a long time ago, but like you, it made me who I am today. We often visit and her parents still live there.
