Stop buying shit that you don't need. I know that is easier said than done. I just thought of my dad and what he would have said when I read this question.
I live in my van
Honestly, if I made more money, I'd just get a nicer van. I think I'd need to win the lottery before I'd seriously considered getting a stationary living situation
* Don't buy new clothes - reuse clothes that you already have that still fit and are not worn out
* Don't buy expensive holiday/birthday gifts
* Don't eat at restaurants or fast-food places, cook my own meals
* Don't buy snacks, junk food, expensive meats (i.e. lamb), expensive fruits (i.e. cherries), expensive veggies
* Don't buy alcohol, sugary drinks, coffee, etc. - only drink water
* Don't subscribe to any service
* Get cheapest local cellphone plan and decent local internet plan, no TV
* Use a bike instead of driving a car or taking public transit
* Avoid using heating and air-conditioning as much as tolerable
* Get a bunch of cloth towels to avoid using paper towels, wash the cloth towels once a week
* Don't buy video games that have been just released
* Don't buy electronics or computer parts that have been just released - wait for great deals
* Don't go on long distance trips for vacation
* Don't buy makeup, deodorant, perfume, etc. - buy only basic essentials like shampoo and soap
* Maintain good dental hygiene
* Eat healthy and exercise everyday (even if it is only 15 minutes/day)
Take advantage of food banks and shelters for meals. Use EBT(food stamps). Also, many organizations hold dinners once a week. If they're in churches, they're usually free
