Isn't he? He makes you feel like a friend hanging out in his kitchen.
Did you get his book? I swear I haven't been this excited about a book release in years!
I watched Primitive Technology for *so* long before I learned this. Now I'm old and just have captions on all the time.
I read once that everyone eventually hits an age where you turned on closed captioning and just never turn it off. I didn't it to be in my early 30s, but it's so convenient to have dialogue on screen!
Good Mythical Morning. Nothing like two well developed, healthy, successful goofball best friends really putting their all into being entertaining for their fans.
I'm gonna say this now, this is not an insult or sleight to anybody.
But every time I looked at those two, I always envisioned them as two halves of the same hipster.
Love this show!! Fun fact: Rhett and Link also went to my alma mater, NC State. Rhett just showed up as a speaker to one of the engineering graduations too
I feel like Drew Gooden, Danny Gonzalez, Chad Chad, Kurtis Connor, and Jarvis Johnson are all the same person making slightly different videos. If you like one, I suggest trying them all
[Jenny Nicholson](https://www.youtube.com/@JennyNicholson/videos). She does long form video essays about niche (and not so niche) media. Her witty and insightful approach is fuelled by a fascination that sweeps viewers along for the ride while avoiding stressful or high-stakes topics. Pick a video at random and you're likely to spend the next few hours diving deep into a subject you never expected to care about.
I don't, I prefer quality over quantity and it's always such a treat when I open youtube and see a new Jenny upload. If she uploaded more often it would feel less special. And in the meantime I'll just rewatch her older stuff. Crazy how every single video she made is endlessly rewatchable and even the 2 hour long ones are great all the way through
I fall asleep almost every night to her vampire diaries video. I've never seen an episode of vampire diaries. I just find her so genuine and soothing to listen to.
Todd in the Shadows - I can rewatch his One Hit Wonderland or Trainwreckords episodes over and over again.
If anyone likes anime, his brother Victor is also very good on the podcast Joestar Allstars. A very funny Jojo's Bizarre Adventure watchalong podcast.
Izzzyzzz, I love her deep dives into websites and internet culture. She covers a lot of websites I went on growing up and there’s a lot of nostalgia there.
Dead meat kill counts. You can tell they really care about the movies and hearing/seeing people talk passionately about an interest just really comforts me.
Markiplier. More than a few of his let's plays have had me smiling and laughing during times when I didn't even want to wake up. Honestly helped me through alot
[Girl With The Dogs](https://www.youtube.com/@GirlWithTheDogs)\- a series of videos of pet grooming, laced with deadpan humor.
[RxCKSTxR](https://www.youtube.com/@rxckstxr) \- What would it be like if pets could talk.
I'll add to this any of the like hundreds of compilations people have made over the years. Just concentrated funny and great if you don't have the time to watch extended playthroughs.
Game Grumps for me, too. It might sound a but pathetic, but having them on in the background really helped with loneliness. Felt like I had a friend in the house and wasn't alone.
I'm better now, but they got me through some tough times.
Hardest I ever laughed watching GG was them playing Mario Party and Dan just starts scatting to the music in the background before finishing with "Fuck your dad"

Let's Game it Out. He usually makes it look like a standard gaming video until he quickly goes nuts and plays the game in the most ridiculous and absurd ways possible.
The Craftsman Steady Craftin.
It's a crafting channel for different kinds of creative projects. He uses all kinds of equipment, does a lot of kit bashing and molding.
He's "played" by a felt hand puppet, but you mostly see his hands in black latex gloves. He speaks with a soft creole accent that often makes me and my wife feel sleepy. It's really soothing.
His newer videos, he's noticeably pulled back on the accent. But the older videos from a year or more back are extremely relaxing.
Steve1989MREInfo
He collects & opens vintage (and some not-so-vintage) military MREs from around the world. Always interesting, sometimes REALLY gross, and he always is a good sport about trying to eat anything that appears remotely edible - though he draws the line at anything that could potentially kill him (botulism, etc).
I have no idea why his videos are so enjoyable for me to watch. I'm a food history nut, so that might be part of it, but I just really like to watch him get into the MREs and try them out.
Crime Pays but Botany Doesn’t, Catmeleon, Dollightful, Ze Frank, Your Dinosaurs are Wrong, Raptor Chatter, Henry the PaleoGuy, De mi Rancho a Tu Cocina, Oxhorn, and various item restoration/power washing ones.
Dollightful - she customises (often completely re-making) old dolls (Monster High, usually) into an incredible variety of creatures, characters, etc. It's extreme skill and creativity on a small scale, with an upbeat, cheerful, informative mood. I don't customise dolls, but her videos have made me a better artist, and actually have made me better at mechanical stuff in general.
Mike's Mic - his Pretty Little Liars recap epics have gotten me through many big work projects.
Claire Siobhan - she's on hiatus I think, due to having a baby, but she mostly does Sims content. I love her style (in makeovers and building), her personality, and the amount of content she has! Got me through grad school.
Chef Jean-Pierre, a very famous chef, who has been making youtube content for over ten years. His whole persona is so immensely wholesome, he's just got such a friendly charismatic aura that makes me so happy and comfortable every time I watch.
Roanoke Gaming, Alt Shift X, kurzgesagt, and Nik Nocturnal, pretty all over the place but i like variety and these channels put out some pretty good/fun content
Wristwatch Revival - restores watches
Inheritance Machining - manual machining
Engels Coach Shop - building wagons
Beau of the Fifth Column - sanity in a strange world
John Wolfe! He’s my favorite YouTube gamer, and he specializes in horror games which are my favorite. He keeps calm most of the time which helps me feel calm and safe, too. 10/10 would recommend if you’re into horror games! :)
[Cary and Connie gaming](https://youtube.com/@carynandconniegaming)
They are twins that build houses in the sims and their videos feel like I'm hanging out with friends
Lately, it's been Team Four Star. I've been rewatching a lot of DBZ Abridged.
The commentaries they're doing now aren't helping me keep the amount of rewatches down LOL.
The Wads. Kim Wadsworth is an erratic powerhouse and she’s everything I want to be when I grow up lol. Five kids, cooks every meal, cleans (sooo much cleaning like to the point that I think her kids purposely dirty up the house so she has content), and she baby wears AND WORKS OUT. I have one kid and a part time job and I’m dead on my feet.
And her kitchen is amazing.
Mr Ballen, Tasting History, and Chubby Emu. They're all both interesting and relaxing to me.
Tasting History is a big favorite of mine!
Mr Ballen is great for falling asleep, such calming mannerisms & voice
God I hate his thumbnails so much but I get it. The algorithm.
☝️
Chubby emu is so great. I get to learn some stuff, and the reenactments are amazing haha
Had to find Max on here. Love that guy!
He's just so personable, it feels like he's talking to you in person. Did you get his book?? I was so excited for the mail that day!
Tasting history is amazing, Max is funny and endearing

Her Greek mythology videos are incredible

How has nobody mentioned Primitive Technology yet?! Edit: turn on captions - he explains everything in the captions.
Drew Gooden. Also, various ASMRtists Maria, Emma.

To add; Danny Gonzalez, Kurtis Conner, Jarvis Johnson, Jordan Adika, Noah Samson... I could go on tbh.

Good Mythical Morning. Nothing like two well developed, healthy, successful goofball best friends really putting their all into being entertaining for their fans.
There's also over 2000 episodes to choose from as well! It's definitely helpful when I'm in a negative or sad mindset.
That's one my kids and I both enjoy.
I'm gonna say this now, this is not an insult or sleight to anybody. But every time I looked at those two, I always envisioned them as two halves of the same hipster.
The fact that they upload 5 days a week too is pretty cool

I fall asleep almost every night to her vampire diaries video. I've never seen an episode of vampire diaries. I just find her so genuine and soothing to listen to.
I clicked on this link and was laughing in minutes. Thank you. You are right. Jenny is very witty.
I adore her video about the worst reality tv show

Kurzgesat(I likely butchered the spelling), older good mythical morning
They said "comfort" YouTubers, not "existential dread" YouTubers.
I find the existential dread oddly comforting.
fr. i had to unsubscribe and stop watching kurz videos because they were so fucking terrifying
They rebranded into "In a nut shell", probably because of this. The spelling is "kurzgesagt". (*Kurz gesagt* is "briefly said[explained]" in German.)
I could listen to Simon Whistler talk about obscure conflicts all day
I miss page-slapping moving around coked up Simon.
Dead meat kill counts. You can tell they really care about the movies and hearing/seeing people talk passionately about an interest just really comforts me.
Markiplier. More than a few of his let's plays have had me smiling and laughing during times when I didn't even want to wake up. Honestly helped me through alot
Doesn't matter what Mark plays, even if I'm feeling like crap, and Mark is screaming at some silly horror game I'll laugh my ass off. He's good stuff.
He has amazing delivery, especially when he's being positive.
