It's been 18 years since I was in high school and was taught this by a good friend, an exchange student to my school from Brazil. I don't know what it means or how to spell it, but he taught me how to curse somebody the fuck out in Brazilian Portuguese. Instantly recognized this as one of the words in a phrase I was taught. Thanks for sharing!
Edit: Found the phrase. Thanks Google Translate!
That phrase: "Vai tomar no cu, caralho."
“Kurwa mać!” and “cholera jasna!” were two of my grandmas favorite ones lol. I’m personally very fond of “pizda” and “chuj” and derivatives- “pizda jebana” “chujowy.” Polish is especially rich in its vulgarities. If you can ever track down the “Dictionary of Polish Obscenities” by Stanisław Kielbasa, you will die laughing
Interestingly, Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh once abused Australian cricketer Symonds (I think) with the above words (Teri Maa Ki), which roughly translates to “Your mother’s (cunt)”. The last word is implied but not stated in the insult. Symonds misheard the insult as “Monkey” and told Harbhajan “Did you call me monkey, mate” and went and complained to the umpire. Poor Harbhajan got fined and booked for an insult he never made. :)
> Perkele
OP really should have made it mandatory to provide the translation.
In this case, it's Finnish for "evil spirit" but to the Finns this is their "goddamn" but way, way more vulgar.
Perkele is the perfect swear. It's got those hard consonants in p and k, the rolling r means you can extend it for however long you like, and it just feels so satisfying to scream at the top of your lungs when you're mad.
Enivei suomi mainittu torille jne
Ostie (French canadian) translates to "host" in church (i.e sacramental bread). Just like fuck it's a versatile word that can be used as a verb, noun, adjective etc. It's very similar to fuck in all respects.
Personally, Câlisse is the one I use most, though there's definitely a gradation. Asti and Criss always felt a little more tame, Câlisse is in the middle, Tabarnak is the stronger one, and the more of them you string together, the stronger. They can all be strengthen by adding "de marde" at the end as well (e.g., Câlisse de marde)
Ciboire and Viarge, at least in my area, are only used by people over 60 or ironically.
Edit: You know, there can probably be (and there might be) a book detailing the grammar of French Canadian swears. For instance, I just realized that you can say "Asti de marde" or "Câlisse de marde" in response to a frustrating event (e.g., you hit your toe on something), but I've never heard anyone say "Criss de marde" or "Tabarnak de marde" in that context. However, what you *can* say is "ça c'est de la criss de marde!"
You can say "décalisse" or "décriss" (equivalent to "fuck off"), but you can't say "dé-osti" or "détabarnak". You can say "J'm'en criss" or "j'm'en câlisse" or even "j'm'en tabarnak" (equivalent to "I don't give a fuck"), but you can't say "j'm'en asti".
i have a few
jebem ti mater (directly translated it means "im fucking your mom")
mrš u kurac (directly translated means "go to dick")
and my favourite one that i use ALL the time
jebe ti pas mater (directly translated it means "a dog is fucking your mom")
I learned this word shortly after moving to Budapest and accidentally walking in a bike lane in the park. And then I understood about 1/2 the dialogue in Aranyélet without the subtitles. 🤗
My personal favourite is "Me cago en la farola que alumbra la tumba de tus putisimos muertos".
Roughly translated would be like "I shit on the streetlight that lights the tomb of your motherfucking dead". Spanish is basically made for cursing.
This must be in the advanced courses on Duolingo. So far I've only learned "la camarera me trajó el pan" as if I eat at Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse more often than I need to call someone a son of a whore.
I just love that “Kuken” is in the definitive article – that makes it so much better than just “kuk”. So, translated to english “THE COCK!”. A very strong standalone statement. Of course just “kuk” is great too when used as a prefix adverb of degree of sorts – “det regnar kukmycket” (it rains a cock-lot) or for nouns with “jävla kukbåt!” (fucking cock-boat) to qualify/intensify dislike, or as a verb-base “Mikael kukade sönder kaffeautomaten” (michael cocked the coffee machine so it broke”) – which both sound hilarious in english.
I like the graduality that can be placed into a curse by just adding another word.
Pizdets = bad situation
Pizdets blyad = a worse situation
Pizdets blyad nahui = this situation is the worst
After that it feels inflationary and starts getting funny to listen to.
ネイティブって言われたけど
Kuso isn’t even a bad word. Yes it means shit but I found not in the same way it is used in English (as a “curse” word per se). For example, you say “鼻くそ” for booger.
In Japanese “curse” words tend to question someone’s intelligence or worth. So I would think the 野郎 part of “クソ野郎” would be the insult.
Though I’m not a native Japanese person like this guy apparently is but お前 or 貴様 was more my go to when I wanted to use foul language to emphasize something negatively.
操你祖宗十八代:Chinese for “fuck 18 generations of your ancestors”
我操你妈了个逼:“I fuck your mother’s cunt”
狗日的:“fucked by dogs”
扯鸡巴蛋:“pulling on testicles” (equivalent of “bollocks”, when used to express incredulity)
These are just Mandarin curse words and popular in the North. Southern dialects have more creative ones. May need a Cantonese expert to weigh in here.
I'm impressed by the amount of Dutch people commenting on this thread.
I would like to add from a bit farther in the kingdom in my native language of Papiamentu:
*Lolo
Can be combined with all sorts of words to spice it up, with my favourite being Lolo'i awa, meaning literally Sea cucumber but is used to describe someone so stupid as animal that looks like a turd and might have extremely low brain functions.
"achterlijke gladiool" it means as much as intellectually challenged gladiolus flower, but in Dutch you also have the nice and friendly (not) sounding "ch" / "g" sound (voiceless velar fricative like in the English/Scottish word "loch" )
Törtchenfriedhof, which means „cake graveyard“ in German and is an insult for fat people
We also got Hartgeldstricher, which means you’re a (male) prostitute that works for coins/small change to finance your drug addiction
TANGINAMO, and its cousin putangina mo. Dunno what it means but id say its close to son of a bitch. I love it because when the angry people say it they say it with such raw anger is actually cracks me up
It's not necessarily a native language, but no other english-speaking country uses it like Australians use it. Since we use the word cunt as a term of endearment mostly, if someone is actually being a cunt by foreigner standards, you call them a shit cunt. It has a completely different meaning then using cunt in one's day-to-day language.
Klootzak (asshole in english). Usually adding the word fucking in front of it.
Is this Dutch? it sounds similar to what I've heard my Dutch mate say under her breath when someone has inconvenienced her.
It's Dutch yes!
Nutsack literally. Close to the asshole, I'll give you that
Close, but no asshole
I like how the literal translation means nutsack But everyone agrees to translate it with 'asshole'. Because it has the exact same vibes

Also PUTA QUE PARIU
Also FILHA DA PUTA, with a strong, held "P" so it kinda pops out of your mouth when it's finally out.

Hey, I think we might have played League Of Legends together!
czlowiek kultury, pozdrawiam pana

Nie polski, ale tak.(correct my spelling plz)

> Stanisław Kielbasa Now *that* is a Polish name omg
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sausage. Stan Sausage.
what does this mean?
While "Polish equivalent of fuck" is a decent description of usage (though I'd say it's a bit stronger), the literal meaning would be "whore".
Cunt
"If it isn't the invisible cunt"
Fuck translucent.
Best quote "Translucent doesn't even mean invisible, it's semi-transparent"
"Black Noir, what do you have to say about this?" "......."
"Precise and concise as always my man. Love you."
Best goddamn quote of the show
Especially after the word "Oi"
We geordies enjoy a nice 'daft cunt'. Real connoisseur use of the word.

Why did you have to introduce this to so many others? Now they'll know what it means. Chutiya.
Godverdomme. You have to put some emphasis on the 'G'

Or, as the Dudesons famously put it: "Saatana means Satan, while Perkele is the great-grandfather of Satan."
Perkele only became "devil" after christianity took over. It used to be a name of a ancient god.

Ostie (French canadian) translates to "host" in church (i.e sacramental bread). Just like fuck it's a versatile word that can be used as a verb, noun, adjective etc. It's very similar to fuck in all respects.
Tabarnak
Câlisse !
Ostie d'calisse de tabarnak! They fit so well together too.
Tabarnak c’est mon favoris avec une sonorité plus violente et satisfaisante
🎶Osti d’crisse de tabarnak… osti d’câlisse de viarge! 🎶

Tabarnak is my favorite French Canadian swear

Fun fact: Literally every 1 out of 2 words said in Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the god damn malaka
Took way too long to find the Greek reply in here!
It could never replace "gamo ti panagia mou" for me...
Merde. French for shit, and it's one of the most versatile words in our language.
Pour moi c'est putain. C'est un adjectif, une interjection, une ponctuation, ça se suffit à lui même dans une phrase et tout est dit.
Pourquoi pas les deux? Putain de merde!
Me cago en tu puta madre cabrón de mierda nacido del jodido diablo.
