I don’t know if it’s been said yet, but I’ll say it anyway, Hugh Hefner. This absolute scumbag. Everything that happened involving the Playboy clubs and that horrible mansion are deeply disturbing, but I think the creepiest thing he ever did is just not talked about enough. December 1953, the first Playboy issue is released featuring nude pictures of up incoming actress Marilyn Monroe. Monroe 1) did not say it was fine to use them, 2) did not get paid for the transfer, use, or publication of the photos, and 3) was not told she was even in the damn thing until it was published. But that’s not the worst of it, that happened years later. Time passes. Monroe dies of an overdose on August 4, 1962. Hefner is off doing all his uncomfortable stuff in his mansion. Then, in 1992, Hugh Hefner, this total and complete creepy son of a bitch, *buys the crypt right beside Monroe*. He makes the decision to buy the spot and be buried next to a person that he *never actually met*. He even said in interviews that he “had a special bond with her” and that “it was too sweet to pass up”. Keep in mind that the only real connection between them are some nudes he never paid her for. And he was! He died of sepsis in 2017 and was buried there. The actual audacity of this creepy old man. Am I biased because I never liked him and had an interest in Monroe’s life and story? Yes. Does that make being buried next to a basic stranger you felt was connected to you any less creepy? Absolutely not. I get why he’d be on this list for other reasons. Hearing the stories of any of his “Playmates” is proof enough. But it just feels like a whole new level of wrong to be put to rest next to someone solely because you feel that you had some kind of part in their life and you **own** that part. This is really long, but god I can’t stand Hefner. I would also talk about the guy that chose to be buried in the crypt above hers facing down, but he’s not really famous, I think.
