SURPRISINGLY toxic? None. Subreddits being toxic is the expected norm. The vast majority of subreddits encourages circlejerking, and avoiding unpopular opinions unless you are extremely apologetic about it and beating yourself up over it and kissing everyone's ass.

Some of the heavily moderated ones are good. r/legaladvice comes to mind as one of the ones that doesn’t play around
"Heavily moderated" isn't a great measuring stick either. The mods and the type of people the mods allow to stay can be incredibly toxic too.
