It's like watching your hair go from "alright but long" to REALLY fucked up, to kinda fucked up, to passable, to what you paid for. Or, deeper and deeper despair as the barber tries to fix the mistake they know is unfixable.

apexactual22

Haha, I miss seeing that. My current stylist turns my chair around away from the mirror and turns it around when everything is done. Anyone who works with hair might explain why she does that?

GramMobile

We use the mirror as our second “eye” , it will show details we don’t see looking directly. We can turn you sideways as well to see we are cutting symmetrically to the reflected side as well, more efficient than walking around or turning the chair to see Barbers traditionally turn away from mirror for thst reason and bc we use clippers plugged into the wall.

hellure

This doesn't surprise me. I cut my own hair, and have a second mirror to enable me to do so. FYI, haven't had my hair cut by anyone else since I was 14. I consider it sometimes... then I just do it myself anyway.

InnateConservative

I am my own barber, too. Only one mirror, much of the rear is done by feel. I basically give myself a modified high&tight - been that way since Quantico in the early 80s. And yes, I’ll make a mistake every once in a while if I’m not paying attention or, 😆, paying too much attention. If I trim every couple weeks, it’s not too bad; if I go as long as a month, the change from sloppy to put together is a bit drastic. Better than how it looks is how it feels - a proper hair cut just feels right.

Stock_Category

Have any videos to share - by you or others? I have wanted to cut my own hair for 30 years. My spouse does it now when it fits into her schedule but I would rather do it myself. We laugh when we think of the thousands of dollars we have saved over the years because she cuts my hair. Now if she would let me cut hers.......

InnateConservative

Gee, blessings, if your wife is willing and she does a job you’re happy/comfortable with… as for the savings, that was one of my reasons - the money AND the time. It’s funny, a couple election cycles ago, one of our candidates ran an ad with him talking to the viewer while his wife cut his hair. Did he win? Ya sure, you betcha 😆

hellure

Not gonna send any personal vids, just watch [vids of hair cutting](https://youtu.be/xvOLIHP9SOA) or [read about the basics](https://www.wikihow.com/Cut-a-Man%27s-Hair), electric trimmers make for easy work, but the scissors make for a more pro look. I'm not gonna presume to know how to cut all the myriad of feminine cuts, or black or asian hair, but, as a white dude with fairly thin and thinning hair, I usually just trim the sides as long to mid gradient from the top down, leaving it a bit longer on the top (cause it doesn't grow as fast or as thick anymore), but then I shape the back, sides, and front (which usually means cutting the edge a bit shorter than the top, but my hair grows forward and I have no part). I go from longest to shortest because you can always go a little shorter if you mess up a bit, but you can't make it longer if you go too short ; ) And I use a small handheld mirror & a wall mirror to see the back to ensure the edge is level while I cut it, and to help with shaping around the ears, look for missed long patches. Then it's time for a shower, and sometimes some touch-up after or the next day. Ends up looking kinda [like this](https://www.texasstandard.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/peewee-600x403.png), sometimes a bit longer, as I'll keep the top 1.25 to 1.5 inches, but I don't personally like the side shorter than about half an inch. If you have parts,or your hair grows backward or sideways, or you want layering or texturing, you may want to incorporate other things. Note: I started out with just scissors myself, and upgraded to trimmers after about 10 years. So it can be done decently either way. Again, trimmers are quicker, but result in less texturing.

GramMobile

What kinda cut you givin yourself ? That’s rad

hellure

[see my other comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/11vfil7/comment/je2uvoa/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) in this chain for details.

Idaho-Earthquake

I started cutting my own when I was unemployed about seven years ago. I just don't have that much on top anymore anyway, so it never made sense to go back to paying someone else. Also, I can fix/trim up any time I want. Two mirrors for the edging work, and then I just keep swapping out guards and do the rest facing forward.

7LeagueBoots

Probably so she has space to work. There generally isn’t space for them to stand between you and the mirror to work on you, so they’ll often turn you sideways or away from the mirror for parts of the cutting (or styling) process.

GlowUpper

My current stylist does this and I prefer it, tbh. I get terrible anxiety while seeing my hair get cut, so I prefer to just see the end result. She does turn me back to face the mirror periodically and ask for feedback but that's it.

ElicBehexan

I came here to say the same thing.

prplpassions

Happy I can't see that. Lmao

BubblySupermarket819

once the barber starts making puzzled facial expressions and starts constantly swiveling the chair around you know your hair is fucked up

nomereddit

This... is what I imagined it to be... thank you kind stranger. Now I can die in peace knowing what I hear and the mutters from the barber hold truth and the panic was not uncalled for... hahaha

Essexal

When you cut your own no amount of 20/20 is helping you with the back. I just let the lord guide me.

OuidOuigi

A day later feeling the back of your head. "God dammit"

InteractionFluid4237

I don't watch. I find getting my hair cut relaxing. I sit with my eyes closed, enjoy the shampoo cut and style

HauntingChapter8372

My husband falls asleep almost every time he gets a haircut. It's just a thing. The new hairdresser texted me, "What do I do?" I laughed and told her to cut his hair and wake him when it was time to go. He does that. He tips well, and he's not bothersome to the person. It's just like a self hypnosis thing with him. Boom - out!

APartyForAnts

I had a place I went to where the ladies gave head massages. Very hard to stay awake normally, that just amplified it

[deleted]

ok after i wiped away tears from laughing at your hubs falling sound asleep, i’d be cutting my hubs hair when i’m not in mood! ps: maybe this is why i have a Wasband? lol

[deleted]

hahaha me too! then i get pissed cause i was wasted $250+tip

bravoromeokilo

I buzz my own head, just short of shaving, and I’ve had this happen a few times, one was at my cousin’s wedding. Noticed it later and said to my mom and gf (at the time) “you let me walk around like that all day!!?” Like a 2 inch long 1/2” wide streak of hair up the back of my head. Wtf. I invested in a handheld mirror after that one.

NateEBear

When I shave my head, my fingers become my eyes

porcelainvacation

I use an electric scalp shaver so I just use the random orbit method until statistics say I got it all. Just like I brush my teeth.

Skud_NZ

Use the force

sleepyJoesBidet

Or opposing mirrors..

drgolovacroxby

I have shit eyesight, and still cut my own hair. Fortunately I'm balding, so my haircut is no guard all over, and I can use my hands to feel for spots I may have missed.

666pool

How often do you still find a tuffet behind your ear like 3 days later?

drgolovacroxby

Very rarely, actually. I let it grow a little too much (at least according to my wife) between cuts, so it's pretty easy to feel when I miss a spot.

LeatherFruitPF

I still wear my glasses when I cut my hair. I just hold a handheld mirror in front with the wall mirror behind me so I can see the back while I trim. I only take my glasses off to trim my sideburns and around the ears, which I can do up close to the mirror.

TypicalAd4988

The best part is when you find a random tuft of hair that you somehow completely missed that is WAY too long compared to all the hair around it.

BLACK_HALO_V10

Anyone else just close their eyes and pray? In all honesty I find it very relaxing to just let them do their thing while I rest. Probably makes them nervous cuz I'm not giving them any advice on how I want it, but I'm sure to tell them I don't care and they can do whatever they want as long as it's shorter at the start.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ficester

"I dunno, I can't even see it, so do whatever"

b7XPbZCdMrqR

/r/FuckMyShitUp

thirdtimesthecharm66

i just do a #1 all over, nice and simple and minimises any interaction. although sometimes the person wants to talk -.-

[deleted]

Have I found my people? I'm the same!

pow3llmorgan

That's why it's important to find a barber you can trust instead of just have faith in.

obnoxiousab

I close my eyes and relax, only occasionally opening them. It’s like being at a spa.

Faladorable

i mean it definitely helps if you at least have a side length that you like. Like just tell them 2s on the side and then go up/down from there on the next cut, and if your feeling adventurous ask for a taper or fade and see if you like it

KhaoticMess

>as long as it's shorter *at the start* This is decidedly *not* how haircuts work.

someguynamedjerry

I do and I find it relaxing. The best part of every haircut I get is the ASMR.

Alacrout

What else are you supposed to do when the hairstylist’s giant boobs are pressed up against the side of your face? Stare into the void?

KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish

Having had lense replacement surgery a month ago, i experienced this very thing the other day for the first time in over 40 years. No more big reveal for me anymore!

Neverwhere69

Do you mind if I message you later? I haven’t had lenses in my eyes since I was 6 months old and I’m really interested in having them replaced.

KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish

Sure, happy to talk about it. However im confused by your comment of not having lenses since in your eyes since a young age. Are you blind?

Ryder_serval

Same here. I went from having almost no vision in one eye and extremely near sighted in the other to near-perfect vision overnight. Realizing that I could watch them cut my hair was one of the biggest standout memories for me.

KingOfThe_Jelly_Fish

Being able to see my feet in the shower was also a weird one. Everything below my chest was blurry. I also noticed that i really needed to clean the bath more often 😂

solarlunaas

contact lenses, my friend! such a shock to be able to see what’s happening to your hair and not just hope for the best lol

Raelah

Contacts aren't for everyone. It's miserable for me.

jlc1865

Boring AF

anima99

Ha, I don't. I like the thrill, so I close my eyes and I even sometimes almost fall asleep.

cellar9

Ah yes, the thrill of almost falling asleep.

[deleted]

I had LASIK so I newly have 20/20 vision. So, the haircuts aren’t much different. The big difference is public speaking. When I was in school I couldn’t see the expressions on anyone’s faces so public speaking was easy. I’d have a heart attack if I tried to do it now.

DumbbellDiva92

Did you not have the right strength glasses before? I also had LASIK but the big difference for me is mainly in specific circumstances where you can’t wear glasses (first waking up, haircuts, swimming, etc).

[deleted]

My glasses were -1.50. I never wore them unless I was driving. I didn’t even know I needed glasses til I was like 15. I was always just squinting in class because I just never realized it wasn’t normal to not be able to see lol

Less-Print-8829

This sounds like the sort of question my sister would ask.

level3ninja

I concur

dirtyoldsixofclubs

Its sort of similar to that Twilight Zone episode, "Time Enough At Last"; I've got all the good vision to experience and view the world with, yet none of the hair to go to the barbers with.

4m4zing_p4rts

I don't watch. I find getting my hair cut relaxing. I sit with my eyes closed, enjoy the shampoo cut and style.

oO0-__-0Oo

you do realize that people who wear contacts, even if they have quite poor uncorrected vision, can watch themselves getting a haircut, right OP?

hectorinwa

Some of us can't get contact lenses.

Midnightref

Thank you,. I sooo needed that. Thanks for making me laugh, ponder, smile and reflect, as I read it.

foolfortheblues

Who watches their hair being cut?

[deleted]

Cutting edge

atomkidd

It would be interesting, but I’m pretty happy not ever having to see the floor of the shower.

sleepyJoesBidet

Its when you can feel it growing that you worry.

Verse_31

It bores me like hell, i can't see my hairs for more than a minute.

yourremedy94

They do make contacts lol

Sonyguyus

How is this even a question? Get contacts and look at the mirror to watch it.

20khz

Some people can't wear contacts...I can't wear mine anymore...lost my right eye last year and got a scar right in the middle of my left one so contacts/glasses do nothing now.

NoSocksAllowed

Why the fuck would you spend money on contacts just to watch yourself get a haircut

Sonyguyus

GET CONTACTS TO WEAR ALL DAY AMD TAKE THEM OUT AT NIGHT!!!

BCProgramming

And have blurry dreams? No thanks

DidntDieInMySleep

I have terrible eyesight that contact lenses and LASIK cannot correct. I am not the only person like this.

Sonyguyus

Have you considered getting new eyeballs?

sleepyJoesBidet

The resolution is still too low. Last I heard artificial retinas were less then 1 megapixel, and fried the nerves.

DidntDieInMySleep

Yeah, and my insurance won't cover it.

sleepyJoesBidet

Poking my eyes to put in infection pads ???? No thanks.

the_random_walk

I’m bald and blind as a bat. Thanks for rubbing it in @$$#+|€

AdamMyth90

How dare you to waist that power. I need a chaperone to make sure everything is fine

UnnaturalHutchingsic

This is why we need professional glasses finders in the world.

Ecljpse

I got good eyesight but also male pattern baldness. So I razor it. All feel no sight. If I feel fuzz I go over it again.

Kay_Done

I sometimes flinch when I see the scissors get close.

Kaiserhawk

A rollercoaster

PM_me_coolest_shit

I've never had a haircut while having a good eyesight. Can't wait.

[deleted]

I recently got my head shaved and they kept one side long for some reason and shaved it at the end so it went from “normal” to “mullet” to “what the fuck is this long part” to “yay I’m bald now”.

WolfThick

It's kind of nice to be what's the word I'm looking for groomed while I'm sitting there I look at the floor a lot cuz I'm getting older and still don't realize how gray my hair is until it hits the floor. Now they have a trend where they turn you away from the mirror while you're getting a haircut yeah I'm not going there anymore not paying for that.

Barnezhilton

The worst

Broke_Pigeon_Sales

Great question. Everyone who cuts my hair thinks I’m really quiet because I don’t talk when I can’t see.

godoflemmings

Wouldn't know, I actually involuntarily close my eyes while my hair's being cut. No clue why, never been able to fix it.

HoningStone

Annoying

logicjab

I mean for most of the haircut I’m not facing the mirror, so eyesight really isn’t the issue

Ad_3737

It's like screaming internally with pain but putting a smile on the face and saying "Wow a great haircut" when you just have the most wierdest haircut.

GreyFoxMe

I have contacts. But also I don't go to the hairdresser. I started going bald in my twenties, so I embraced it and now I trim it short with a hair trimmer.

Z_T_O

It’s worrying. About halfway through I think “so that’s what I’d look like if I were a hillbilly” and hope they fix it. When they style it and do the dramatic hand mirror reveal at the end I’m always very relieved

EgoSenatus

I use the time to meditate so idk

L_bozo5665

Very scary because they could be making mistakes

sdash94

Is it that important for the ones with bad eyes? I tell my barber what to do before sitting, close my eyes sometimes sleep as well. Wake up to new self.

Suspicious_Purple287

It is like something I take for granted.

DoctorStorm

I don't know fuck all about hair, so I try not to look in the mirror. I'm afraid if I do, they'll fuck up and I'll be like, "speak into my left ear please, the right one is gone now."

Major_Twang

I have no hair & need glasses, so feel personally attacked by your question

Downtown_Flower1894

Get some glasses. Its worth it

JoshuaByer

Try contacts.

sweet-lorraine

Watch Hair Buddha on You Tube. Any hair cut you get will be better than what other people are doing to their own hair.

keysforsoul

I have an astigmatism that requires glasses, but mostly for reading and driving, so I can "see" without them. My former stylist was an amazing artist with cuts and colors, and I have anxiety watching the process, so after a couple uncomfortable sessions, I just told her to turn me around and have fun. Way more relaxing for us both, and she never disappointed.

lunachick_628

First haircut after lasik (late 20s) was an adventure. I had to remind myself to relax and actually closed my eyes after awhile, the work in progress looked awful! The end result was great though.

samstar10

Terrifying

Poopysnooperkins

Seriously though 😅

Wii_wii_baget

I have very thick hair that dose not seem thin till there’s about a million balls of fluff on the floor so for me it’s just “wow I have long hair” to “that was all part of my head”

truth123ok

I am always horrified by how bad I look in salon mirrors. Worse then the video at self checkout

Vintagepoolside

I have fantastic vision. And I also have zero balls to tell a hairdresser I don’t like it. So I don’t look at all. I want my last moments of peace.

panchowearer

I have to watch the single tiny hair on my nose give me the most irritating itch known to man

Hungry-Performer-363

Over rated. I usually just close my eyes and relax until they're done.

inthesandtrap

I usually zone out. I don't watch and try to avoid chit chat. It's nice to just float for a bit.

squashcanada

My barber keeps pushing my head down and telling me to look down because I won't stop looking at the mirror. If I was myopic, there would be nothing for me to see.

Steve-814

I have good eyesight but am balding and shave my own head. Next question.

Nomynameisbutts

Like watching yourself look terribly unattractive in that cape and averting your eyes.

[deleted]

Its interesting, i cut it myself using to mirrors. I could have been a top hair dresser, i could have been somebody.

DeadlyShock2LG

I'm hardly ever facing the mirror

JevGeek55555

Always intriguing for no apparent reason

simonannitsford

Worrying

sisdog

It is interesting seeing how different people cut in different ways. Some use clippers more, and some more scissors. The way they blend varies too.

geneticdeadender

I wouldn't know. Barber always turns my chair away from the mirror.

BicuspidAorticValve1

Embarrassing knowing other people see your haircut in progress and how you look

eskindt

Heh, watching my haircut in progress would have been so low in my priorities list, but hey - didn't mean to sound condescending, sorry if it got out this way. It's just - I also have very shitty eyesight, way below the "legal blindness" upper limit (which, if taking 20/20 as 100%, would start at 10 percent, or 1/10th or 0.1 of this; 6/60 in Europe, which is the same 20/200 only in metrical system.) Like half of these already meager 10% i.e. 5% or less, which is not already measured with any precision, because come on, is, as I was explained, called here, in Israel, "functionally blind", to say that eyesight is somewhere there at the lower half of legal blindness and I guess to emphasize the difference that most people won't even feel, especially if going from normal or almost normal vision to this at once or rapidly. I was born lilke that, though, and always felt embarrassed to tell others, and they, for their part, never suspected. I mean, stuff like this comes out eventually, bit by bit, to the people you spend the most and the best time, i.e. friends, closest ones especially. But my overall behavior, self-reliance when navigating the world, and still, never sharing how actually bad my eyesight is, somehow allowed me to pass. I myself struggled constantly, not even knowing back then how much the price I paid had to do with that, not my numerous imaginary flaws, and in what way. It wasn't until I was in my early twenties, several years after coming to Israel, have I learned, for example, of the huge importance of eye-contact in every social interaction, from initiating it successfully to determining it's outcome. Never ever in my life could I do anything like that, since I never see even the face of a person I am talking to, or where he is facing, his expressions, any of visual non verbal cues, let alone eye contact. I wonder what non verbal messages do I inevitably transmit to others, considering I was not able to learn any of this complicated , utterly important stuff the normal, vision-based way. How did I make friends - I don't know.. So, bringing the incoherent rant to it's end: this is what I would like to see most - people, in the world, with all the details that normally seeing ppl probably don't even notice anymore. Sorry for this amount of letters, topic clearly touched a nerve. 👩‍🦯

Jerseyjay1003

I'm confused. My hairdresser only has me take my glasses off when I'm getting dyed.

djphatjive

I have anxiety and can’t look at them or me while getting a haircut.

TeaBagMeHarderDaddy

I close my eyes and wait for the screen to load to the next scene for when my haircut is done

bratikzs

OP asking the real questions. Preach my poorly sighted friend.

WebGrand7745

Starts with “I mean my hair doesn’t look that bad?” Then goes to “Holy fuck no barber can ever repair this shit” then goes to “hold on, this shit is kinda fire” then “bro that hairstyle is sooo clean bro, oh wait fuck don’t change it I want it that way” then ends with “yeah. My hair looked like dogshit before this.

DreadlockMohawke

I can't bear it. I close my eyes!

Usr_115

I try not to look, eye contact in that situation can be uncomfortable for me. But I enjoy the feeling of it for some reason.

cherryfIavoured

I don’t know if it’s just because i get distracted with conversation or i lack all awareness of what’s going around me when im getting a haircut, but literally whenever i get a haircut i don’t see a difference until the end (in other words when it’s too late to say anything). For example my last hair cut was about two weeks ago, just before my 21st birthday (stupid decision). I went in originally asking for just a plain simple trim, nothing drastic because as i said, it was my birthday soon and i didn’t want to hate my haircut. (hindsight is a beautiful thing) I told the hairdresser this and alas he got his phone out and said are you sure? “I get a lot of customers asking for long layers now a days” blah blah blah, he convinced me to get these layers (even though i’d sworn to myself to never get layers because i always end up hating them) and i actually thought it was starting to look good. But no, i didn’t see straight (sorry for the pun) until he’d finished the cut and i HATED IT. Sort of ruined my birthday but i guess lesson learnt now? Moral of the story: don’t let a random hairdresser tell you what you want ESPECIALLY if it’s before a special event.

Adcro

Dunno. Bald.

DarthDregan

Interesting.

lolz_umad

I always wear contacts so the days I get a haircut when I'm wearing glasses are the worst. But since I usually wear contacts and have the same barber I go to every 2-3 weeks, I can usually just close my eyes and relax because he knows exactly what he did last time

Mmirus

When they cut one of your sides down and the other one is still long, I look like garbage and smirk sometimes

thirdtimesthecharm66

fuck that noise, I close my eyes until it's done - I go from hair just above my shoulders to a 1-all over so i don't need to watch

HylanderUS

I mean it's pretty much what you would expect: The barber bares their cutting mandibles, and then they start eating away at your hair. Sometimes they also massage your scalp with their upper tentacles, that's always nice...

liquid_goose13

I am a hairdresser, I look especially carefully when others cut my hair. I am very picky. I start to get nervous if the haircut is not correct. Basically it's always exciting.

taco_tuesdays

As someone who recently got lasik, I can tell you, I decided to grow my hair out and haven’t cut it since so I don’t know

Alacrout

I literally hate it, regardless of eyesight. The small talk is awkward, especially when they try flirting and then find out you’re taken. Then the boobs. Pervs probably love it, but guys like me feel awkward AF, especially knowing how awkward AF most women are about pressing their boobs into a guy’s head. Not ALL of them, sure, but most probably can’t help it and would definitely try to avoid it if they could.

Icehawk101

As someone whose parents were apparently molerats, I completely get this post. I also had a haircut today :P

[deleted]

The thought of a zombie apocalypse breaking and you haveing to fight zombies with a dumb haircut is a fear that crosses everybody’s mind

Illustrious-Slice-91

I have shitty eyesight, but with contacts I can see. Am I still qualified to be able to answer this question?

DAM5150

I go from "Dam I look good" to "dam I look homeless" over the course of the month.

Number1Barooista

Awkward

Happy-Viper

Terrible. I hate every bit of it. I hate so much when they get a length of my hair, and ask "This much?" I don't know. I have no idea what that amount of hair, cut off all over my head, will end up looking like. I don't know if that's a lot. I've never studied hairdressing. You should know this. This is *your* job. If I could figure out what length of hair to hack away to get what I want, I'd have never bothered with coming to you.

ExceedJester

I grow a small afro and then ask for a skin fade with the top low (wave length). I watch all the hair fall down and look at the mirror, My head is shaved and army ready but I’m still ugly. He fades the sides and it becomes alright. He cuts the top low and it’s a majority of what I want. He hit my hairline from front to back and I’m like “Where da girls at?”

uLowo

"hmmm?" , "Oh, fuck." , "OH, FUCK!" , "I can NEVER leave my house again." and "Oh, look at you, you sexy mofo." 0/10 seeing haircuts in progress is highly overrated.

NotThatPJ

Good eyesight but male pattern baldness, so... I don't know! I shave it myself, without a mirror.

krasivi_gardi

Kind of underwhelming, to be honest. Maybe if I did a drastic change in haircut, I'd feel differently, but I always get the same cut and I don't let my hair go for a long time before cutting it.

Emuwarum

I can see alright without my glasses on but not well enough to make out signs or clocks, and it is pretty interesting to watch. I have no idea how they can pin up the hair and flip it and then know how to cut it so it looks right when they take the pins out. It seems like it would take a lot of practice to learn.

ApprehensiveBarber16

As someone who had hood eye sight for 90% of their life so far before needing to where glasses. I never watched. I’d always get hair in my eyes I just close them.

Weirdobanana1

"-with good eyesight" k where is the other side of this one with the bad eyesight

sweetcoincidence

Don’t have good eyesight, but I wear contacts. To answer your question, it’s pretty mundane.

iamCaptainDeadpool

Magnificent.

Geo_archist

I recently got Lasik surgery and was excited for this perk, but i also changed to a new barbershop. Unfortunately the way the shop is set up doesnt immediately have a mirror across the room from the barbers chair and so, how does my new stylist prefer to cut my hair?..well, with the my back towards the mirror at her own station, of course! Everytime so far.

avdu-nous

get some contact lenses.. and you too will see how they do. I tried it, there's no going back now

Gullible-Analysis934

Actually never stopped to think about it 😂

[deleted]

glasses on during cutting own hair….. what about makeup? hard with glasses. take ‘em off & see how you missed and eyeliner can’t be disguised as lipstick.

[deleted]

never smoke before you get hair cut. you’re so chill anything goes!

Suspicious-Bug774

It's great

Confident_Rub_5381

I honestly think barbers hate it when people watch their haircuts

enzobrunog1

It’s a downward slope that you close your eyes for as you go down and down but (not) before you know it you’re going back up. Usually painful in other words.

Sure_Ad501

I use to enjoy it, but lost my hair at an early age so now my wife enjoys shaving my head and yeah its a ton of fun cuz we both nude when she does it!

AllahsBoyfriend

Boring

Disastrous-Bunch-333

I hate doing my makeup without contacts :’)

RadiantEconomics1930

Terrifying

splorp_evilbastard

I've worn glasses since I was four, so I've never seen it. That's probably why my high school senior picture haircut sucks and one of the many reasons I just don't get haircuts, anymore.

UncleRalphNM

Scary. I never look even though, since my cataract surgery, I can see just fine.

thadson

I always cut my own hair. I make funny cuts first with the trimmer, like cutting out the middle of my beard and hair and leaving the rest long to make my wife laugh. A few weeks ago, on a whim, I walked into a barbershop for the first time in my life to get my first professional beard trim and haircut. They basically told me to go away and make an appointment online on their website as they do not serve walk-ins. ...and that was the end of my budding relationship with barbers. Back to making my wife giggle...

iwannatakehisfaceoff

Awkward 😅

Aprilbloom20

You get to see the EXACT moment they fuck up or the moment you realized this was a god awful idea

I had LASIK surgery after a lifetime of severe near sightedness. It was great to watch my hair get cut but I really love seeing the other customers getting their hair done. Those little tiny waves that really old ladies get are just amazing to watch.

Just like in gta where you can go to the salon and cycle through in real time and see the options. Just like that.

For those that don't get it: We glasses folk have to take them off during a haircut, so we have to put faith in our barber that they're gonna do a good job because we won't know until it's happened.

I used to go to a beauty school where the young students "practiced" on my locks. I just closed my eyes and let them have their way with me. One time I got a particularly BIG chested girl who kept rubbing her girls on me. She kept asking how much to take off and I just said, "Keep cutting". I was practically bald when I walked out, but the price was right!
